I still like him as a player, but think that it would be the best for both - player and club. He is too much a hate figure for a lot of fans to ever win them over. And for the club he is a luxury they cannot afford. And he hasn't given a fair return for his horrendous wages in the last couple of years. And at the age of 28 he isn't a prospect anymore, so to get at least a transfer fee in return wouldn't be too bad - if only he could get decently replaced, something I am not too optimistic about. But watch him go to a club like Spurs and become a cracking player for a couple years... He's got his best years ahead of him to be fair...

Does he ever look up? I'm not sure his awareness of what's going on around him is anything special, but as long as you've got an eye for goal it doesn't matter as much. However, if he and Owen play together I don't think either would have a clue where the other was and you won't see much passing between them. That's why you need someone like Carroll who has the rare ability of being able to look up and pass the ball to a teammate.

Exactly, it's pointless doing very well against the big teams, and we have to be fair, and then not turning up to teams who we should be putting away with ease. However, maybe that's what these top four sides were thinking when they turned up here, easy three points.
