NEWCASTLE United fans have been out in their numbers snapping up the stylish new home kit. The very latest black and white jersey went on sale at 7am from official club stores, and it was brisk business throughout the day. Some fans even queued overnight to be the first to sport the new adidas kit, which the team will wear for the first time against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. The first five fans at the St. James' Park store on Wednesday morning were Robert Strain, Julie Cain, Andrew Strain, Kevin Ilderton and Michael Brown, and they were all rewarded with a free top. Julie and Michael had started queuing at 11.30am on Tuesday, while the other three arrived at 5.30pm on Tuesday night to make sure they got their new colours early. Michael said: "It's just one of those things you have to do, it's all part and parcel of supporting Newcastle United." Julie added: "I've been coming to all the new kit launches over the years, it's in my blood. It's a fantastic strip and the lads will look terrific in it next season - hopefully it will bring us some luck!"

Re: the first post. How can we offer Roeder his old job back when a) it's being done by someone else and that person is doing a very good job.
-
Why the fuck did you "stumble" accross that in the first place?

As reported earlier in the week, there have been rumours flying about that the King de la Bling, Kieron Dyer, is looking to leave SJP in the summer and freshen up (keep it real etc…). With his testimonial two years away, and a healthy crowd of about 10 people expected, he seems to be ready to cut his ties with the club and join up with his good friend, lookalike and equally as overrated a footballer Jermaine 'JJ` Jenas, away from the goldfish bowl and Luke Edwards at the Journal. Naturally his 80 clicks worth of wages seem to be throwing a spanner in the works with a lot of the papers, especially given that Robbie Keane earns just over half that as their top earner. £6m has also been mentioned as a fee, which would be as helpful to Glenn`s rebuilding plans as shifting our 2nd top earner and getting Sidwell in on a free. This would make far better business sense than keeping a player who goes hiding at every available opportunity (except when the papers come calling, natch). Please God let there be some truth in this…

Tottenham and Newcastle will fight for Javier Saviola when he is free to leave Barcelona on a free this summer. (The People)
