  2. Jeff Stelling said he was watching the cricket on the pitch opposite the ground as he waited to be taken down, so I think he's ok.
  3. Would be very very happy with that, didn't he turn down a loan to Celtic last week? May help that we have Colo and Jonas.
  4. You'd rather we didn't have millions of pounds given to us a year for the small matter of putting a small logo on our shirts?

  6. It may have taken him several months to break his silence on the in-fighting at , but manager Kevin Keegan last night insisted there are no difficulties between himself, owner Mike Ashley and football director Dennis Wise. Keegan's reluctance to appear before the media during the summer, rumours of Ashley's attempts to sell the club and find new investors and the unveiling of just three new signings have sparked stories of unrest between the manager and the boardroom. But after finally securing £10million Argentina defender Fabricio Coloccini at the club training ground yesterday, Keegan was adamant that his relationship with Ashley is working and can continue to work. Keegan said there has been a marked improvement in relations since their showdown meeting at the end of last season, although doubts persist about who is behind the signing of Coloccini, his Argentina team-mate Jonas Gutierrez and former Liverpool junior Danny Guthrie, who could all make debuts at Old Trafford tomorrow. Keegan said: 'I do not think we have ever been closer than we are now. Mike Ashley has come out and said in his own words how he sees the club, where he is with the club and that was a good thing to do because it stopped all talk that he is thinking of selling. 'If you talk to Mike Ashley about this club, he is really committed. He would be the first to tell you he does not understand everything about football because he is a fan but I would guarantee what he does not know, he will learn very quickly. 'He is very sharp, very observant, does not miss a trick when you are in meetings. If someone tells him something then you don't say the same thing quite again. He will pick up on it.I have had that happen to me. 'We all understand our roles. We all understand what each other's briefs are and what each of us brings to the club and that is a good thing. 'We are never going to agree on everything. If you put six or seven guys in a room talking about football, you are never ever going to agree on everything but the important thing is when we don't agree, it stays in the room. And you come out and are very much united 'I am sure if you ask Dennis Wise, Tony Jimenez, Jeff Vetere, Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias, they would say the same thing because that is the truth. We are really looking to do the right things. 'When we wrap up this period with the transfer deadline, the fans will see where we are. We have just broken our record for a defender and that sends out a message. This new love-in is certain to be put to the test before the closure of the transfer window with Keegan still desperate to sign a left-back, short of cover at right-back and looking for at least one more midfielder. Although Abdoulaye Faye has joined Stoke for £2.25m, Everton continue to circle over Alan Smith, after their initial £3m bid was accepted by Ashley but not the manager or player. Aston Villa are prepared to offer three times that amount for James Milner, but Keegan says he will not be sold. And that Ashley agrees. He said: 'He is the last player Newcastle are going to sell and owner and myself . . . James will not be leaving here I am sure on that. 'I don't want to lose Alan Smith either. He is great round the place, but he needs a goal at Newcastle so people don't keep saying he has gone so many games without scoring. He is a great member of our squad.' The Newcastle manager may be happy with new addition Coloccini and insisted: 'We have paid a club record for a defender but this is the type of player you should break records for.' However, he also revealed unwittingly he may be a stranger to the new Newcastle No.2, saying: 'We've not had much chance to look at him but he looks quality.' And as he admitted he can only see Tottenham breaking into the top four this summer, Keegan was forced to admit Newcastle are playing catch up on more teams in the Premier League than he would prefer. He added: 'We still have some way to go because Rome wasn't built in a day and none of these football clubs in the top four were there from day one but we'll see what happens with Spurs and their attempt to do it. 'At the moment, they have brought in more players and quality players. I have got to say that because we were after Woodgate and Modric. But that does not mean to say we cannot catch them up or compete with Spurs this season.'

  9. Juve confirming 2 English clubs want Tiago Juventus have claimed two English clubs have made enquiries about the availability of midfielder Tiago. Press reports have suggested that the Portuguese could be set to join Newcastle United on loan for the 2008/09 term, but it has been rumoured that he failed to agree terms with the Magpies. Everton have also been mooted as potential suitors for Tiago as manager David Moyes looks to make his first addition of the summer. Tiago, who joined Juve from Lyon last summer, struggled to hold down a regular place in Claudio Ranieri's plans last season, and has been linked with a move away from the Serie A giants before the close of the transfer window. Juve sporting director Alessio Secco said: "Newcastle? Indeed, we have received interest from two English clubs, but nothing more. It is still too early to talk about it." Club president Cobolli Gigli added: "There will be no more dealings for Juve except for Tiago."
  10. Just got back from a few days in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago. Amazing city. Strongly recommend you do the cable cars up the hills/over the harbour. La Rambla is a given - must do. Also head to the Picasso museum, amazing stuff. Get yourself a 5 day metro ticket or however long it's for, it's great value for money, and there's no "zones" on the metro. Every journey is a set price.
  11. Exclusive: We're ArgenTOONa! By Craig Hope JONAS Gutierrez has welcomed Argentina team-mate Fabricio Coloccini to Newcastle United and says that he is delighted to be playing alongside his compatriot week-in-week-out. The pair have been La Liga opponents for the past three seasons with former Deportivo La Coruna defender Coloccini often charged with task of nullifying the attacking threat of Gutierrez and his Real Mallorca comrades. But now, with both having penned five-year deals at St.James' Park, winger Jonas admits he cannot wait to share a St.James' Park dressing room with a player he rated among one of the best in the Spanish top flight. "I know from playing against Fabricio in La Liga and as a team-mate for Argentina what a good player he is - I'm just happy we're on the same side all of the time now!," the 25-year-old told nufc.co.uk in an exclusive interview after Coloccini became the most expensive defender in United's history. "He is a top defender and was one of the best in Spain, but I also believe he will like the Premier League because he is very quick." While English-speaking Jonas says he will do all he can to help his fellow countryman find his feet on Tyneside, adding: "I am very happy that we have another Argentinean at Newcastle and I will do all I can to help him. "I've only been at Newcastle for a few weeks but I will be telling Fabricio how much I have enjoyed it so far. "He does not speak any English so I am happy to be his interpreter until he learns."
  12. Exclusive: I'll Be Fab For Toon By Craig Hope NEWCASTLE United new boy Fabricio Coloccini has revealed his delight after putting the finishing touches to what he calls a "dream" move to the Magpies. The 26-year-old, who will wear the No.2 shirt, became the most expensive defender in the club's history this week as he penned a five-year deal at St.James' Park. The former Deportivo La Coruna ace joins at least one familiar face on Tyneside with Argentina team-mate Jonas Gutierrez having also swapped La Liga for the Premier League this summer. And it was Jonas who acted as a willing interpreter when Fabricio spoke exclusively to nufc.co.uk following the completion of his transfer. "I'm very excited to be here and it is a dream to play for such a big club in the Premier League," said the 27-times capped star. "I have known about Newcastle's interest for a while and I wanted to sign because it is a club I know all about from my time watching English football in Spain and Argentina." And, when asked what type of player the fans can expect to see, Fabricio had this message for the Toon Army: "I'm a defender who will always try my best for the team. "I think I am a good technical player and I will be suited to the speed and physical side of the game in England. "I am also still fit because I was doing pre-season training with Deportivo and I can't wait to get started." Former Real Mallorca winger Gutierrez has quickly emerged as something of a favourite among the Gallowgate faithful, and Coloccini says he has already been given the lowdown on life in Geordieland by his fellow countryman. "Jonas has only been here a little while but he told me that we have very good supporters and an incredible stadium," said the centre-back who did not miss a single minute of league action for Depor last season. "Playing at St.James' Park, in front of those fans, is something I cannot wait to do." And when finally pressed if the Argentinean duo would be as successful as counterparts Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa during their time at Spurs, the pair laughed before quipping: "We hope so!"
  13. Why don't you piss off back to Wikipedia-Online if you love it so much? Why don't you burst into fucking tears again because you aren't able to? NSG, gbolem, Robert 32, Adu Who? I can post on there if I such wish. Maybe so, but that doesn't cover up your pathetically embarrassing reaction. Meh, just trying to get a reaction out of you lot. It worked to a tee. I'm browsing Newcastle Online as we speak...try and guess which user I am... I still have the grovelling PMs man And I couldn't give a flying one if you're online. You have the personality of a fucking chair leg anyway. How can you speak of my personality since you've never met me? What an idiotic thing to say. You can get a sense of how lacking in charisma somebody is based on their posts, mate. As for the i.p. checking? I would have to log into the Admin account, since my account doesn't have access to the admin stuff. As you can clearly see, the Admin account isn't logged in. That's because I couldn't give one, as I already stated. I suppose that'll be why I've never really noticed your posts then?

Maybe you need to get some frozen peas for the hot flush and a brown bag for the breathing before you try to go through the chore of making a post that actually makes sense? No, my points are pretty clear: 1) It is your fault that bobby was banned. 2) You have no sense of irony. 3) Our forum is better off without you. Next bile-ridden response please... Try to read what you're replying to first though. you shouldnt ban someone because of what someone else has done though. Its like how dave threatened to ban my mate if i came bak to N-O Maybe you should read this thread before we get back onto that debate.
