Thats what i'd go for Since when has Barton been a DM? Total myth, presumably borne out of the assumption he can tackle because he goes around chinning people. He's not a DM, but he's better than Guthrie and Butt in that position for me, and I have doubt as to how long Geremi could play in that role.

Given Beye Coloccini Taylor Enrique Barton Gonzales ------------------ Spidey Owen Martins -------- Xisco Harper Cacapa Bassong Butt Guthrie N'zogbia Viduka Probably missed someone out, like.

Fraiser Campell to Spuds on loan

One proven striker in this league, I would be shitting myself tbh. How many do you have fit? By the time of our next Premiership game? Probably Owen, Martins, Xisco, Smith and Ameobi with a small chance of Viduka making it.

Last year we announced Faye and Beye at 00:30 iirc

Probably because there is absolutely fuck all

Barton was at SJP to watch the reserves tonight, and was on his phone for the majority of the game. Rumours that he was ordering a 12" Margherita may be wide of the mark.

Gutted. ur not only one i feel sick thinking about it Why? Because we'd spunk millions on every player under the sun? We'd win every trophy around? Was having a chat earlier with Flintoff and I really wouldn't want that. The novelty would wear off. There'd be no romance at the club, no soul to the club and we'd gain so many OOTs it would drive a certain board member crazy. I'm quite happy with the way NUFC is progressing. In the past year and a bit we've got rid of the likes of Allardyce, Shepherd, Bramble, Ramage, Carr, Babayaro and gained the likes of Keegan, Coloccini, Spiderman and maybe the Xisco kidda as well. It would mean a hell of a lot more to me if we won something because we deserved it. Throwing billions around to buy the league is meaningless.

He seems to be liked in East Anglia. Well Ispwich are the Tractor boys, and that's about the level of Sholas top speed...

Some bellend on the chronicle forum says we're making an announcement at 6pm. EDIT: I really should have read at least one of the posts on this page before posting this

Would be very happy with him on a 1 year deal tbh. Showed as little as just over a year ago that he can still cut it in a big league.
-
"Have you had an accident that wasn't your fault?" Well duh. It wouldn't be a frigging accident if it was someone's fault, would it?
-
Liege can be proud of themselves, didn't fall for all the hype and stuck to it. Even Oneywu looked decent. Thought he looks scruffy tbh. That beard didn't do anything for him

Luckiest team in history. That's four games this season where's they've been out played, Liege twice, Boro and the Mackems. Yet they have 6 points and are in the CL.

James Milner's representatives have hit back at Newcastle after they revealed he has handed in a transfer request. The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with Aston Villa and informed Newcastle of his desire to leave last Wednesday. A statement said: "The Professional Footballers' Association, who represent James, are disappointed his request has come to the public's attention. "James' request was handed in on 20 August, at which point it was asked by Newcastle to keep the matter private." Mick McGuire, the PFA's deputy chief executive, continued: "The request was given because the player was looking for an improvement on his contract that reflected his development and his value to the club." A Newcastle statement released earlier on Wednesday confirmed that Milner had requested a transfer, but the club were yet to receive a suitable offer for the midfielder. James has been professional in keeping the matter private whilst giving strong performances for Newcastle United. PFA deputy chief executive Mick McGuire "We have yet to receive an offer for James that matches our valuation," it read. "However, should such an offer be received then the club will be reluctantly forced to consider it, given James's apparent desire to leave. "The club is very disappointed that James sees his footballing future as being away from St James' Park. He is a valued member of the squad and it is only a year ago that he signed an improved long-term contract here." Newspaper reports claimed on Wednesday that Villa boss Martin O'Neill was preparing a £9m offer for Milner, who joined the Magpies from Leeds in 2004. He was on the verge of joining the Villans in August 2006 for around £4m after a lengthy spell there on loan, but Newcastle pulled out of the deal at the 11th hour at the end of the transfer window. O'Neill said he is keen to strengthen his squad before the transfer deadline on 1 September and admitted: "Am I a fan of Milner? He was nearly here two years ago, he nearly signed but it didn't materialise. "It was disappointing at the time but it was two years ago." 606: DEBATE He's blatantly been playing for a move as I haven't seen him play with that much desire since the season before last Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Milner, who signed a new four-year contract at St James' Park only last year. "To clarify the situation, James did sign a contract 12 months ago," added McGuire. "However this agreement was reached with the club nearly 12 months previously at the point in which Newcastle had agreed to sell James to Aston Villa on transfer deadline day 2006 before cancelling the agreement at the 11th hour. "Although the transfer request was handed in seven days ago James has been professional in keeping the matter private whilst giving strong performances for Newcastle United."

Sunderland have completed the signing of defender Anton Ferdinand from West Ham for a fee of about £8m.
-
the farce with the season tickets maybe hindered that number as well.. The 10% hike in a lot of prices will be the main reason.

Tell all the boys you know We had the worst defence in the world We had Titus Bramble Peter Ramage Carr and Babayarooooooooooo Started that off pre game away at Blackburn last season and it seemed to catch on well.
-
I can see him playing in a Gudjohnsen style AM role. Unfortunately he's another midgit for us.

Just had a mate text me saying there's a direct quote in this mornings rags from Saviola saying how he'd love to play alongside Coloccini and Gutierrez at NUFC. Looks like this could be happening ArgenTOONa

off the top of my head I recall him also saving against Boro in the 1-4 (Greening) and Leverkusen at SJP (Neuville)
