  1. Argentina, Spain, England, Portugal and Holland would be my top 5 atm, not sure about in which order though.
  2. Racist Is that all you say? It is Racist tho, its like saying,"White boys cant jump" I'd say it's more of a sweeping generalisation. No, its racist. So is it racist to say Africans are shite swimmers? Show me an African Olympic swimming champion. Africans have actually won goal at the Olympics in Athens IIRC they won the 4x4 mens relay. You can't say someone is shit at something just because of were they come from is my point, so i dont want to get into a pointless argument. Black Africans I'm on about. Well what about chinkies? You'll never see China win the World Cup, or 100m gold, because they're all dwarfs apart from that basketball player. Africans are Africans mate, so is some one not English if they were born here but the colour of their skin was black? So is it because of were they come from they will never win such an event? I dont think so, it might be because they dont pay much attention to sports such as football and sprinting were other countries might do. Still its back to the old argument of you cant judge some one by the colour of their skin but the content of their character, as MLK would say No of course black people are still English nationality is fuck all to do with the colour of the skin...but, you won't see a black swim well, because they just can't swim, it's not their fault but they can't. So is it the same with football? Saying African goalkeepers are shit because they are African in my eyes is racist, you cant judge all goalkeepers on the ability of one. And because of were they come from. England hasn't exactly produced world class goalkeepers of late so is it fair to say that English people are shit in goal because they are English? Matter of fact that Kameni is FM-Tastic I didn't say he was shit because he was African. I said African Keepers are usually shit, which is true, isn't it?

  4. Racist Is that all you say? It is Racist tho, its like saying,"White boys cant jump" It's not at all. It's common knowledge that Africa and South America produce very average shot stopping keepers, whom have more than a slight tendency to punch rather than catch. Would it be racist if a Brazilian man said "English players tend to have less flair"?
  5. African keepers (usually) = crap. No thanks.
  6. I'd take February. Last year we were well in the shit until we won at your place.
  7. Owen on the bench and Bassong to start according to JFK.
  8. Says the person who has nearly 2000 posts on another team's message board.
  9. JOE KINNEAR has warned Harry Redknapp he is wasting his time eyeing Shay Given. Redknapp had hardly got his feet under the table at White Hart Lane before he went public with praise for the 32-year-old Newcastle United keeper. And judging by the way Spurs shot-stopper Heurelho Gomes seems to be suffering from an attack of butter-fingers, it’s easy to see why Redknapp is on the look-out for a replacement – and is looking in the direction of Given. However, Kinnear told me today: “I can save Harry the time and money and tell him not to bother even picking up the telephone, because there is no way Shay Given will be leaving this club. “We want to build up Newcastle United and get good players in, not good players out. “And why would he want to go to Spurs? This is a bigger club than Spurs.” These words coming from a former Spurs full-back may upset a few people at White Hart Lane, but they will give Given a lift as he prepares to go in against Wigan Athletic at St James’s tomorrow. Added Kinnear: “Shay Given has a lot of presence. All great goalkeepers have it. He’s a Republic of Ireland international, but he reminds me a lot of a Northern Ireland keeper Pat Jennings, who I played in front of most of my time at Spurs. “I have the utmost respect for Shay Given, as have most people in the game. “He has vast experience and he is vital to us and, not only that, but he is a decent fellow.” Kinnear is fully aware that Given has had to face no fewer than SIX penalties in the Premier League this season – easily more than any other keeper. No team this century has conceded more penalties than United in the Premier League at this stage of the season. Blackburn did likewise in 2006-07 and ended up giving away 11 by the end of the season. No wonder Kinnear added: “I can only hope that we do not end up with as many penalties as that against us by next May. “Shay Given deserves better than that. “I know he considers a penalty to be a cheap goal against him, and don’t forget one of the goals he conceded at Sunderland was direct from a free-kick.” The three points are the most important thing tomorrow, but a clean sheet and no visiting penalty would be just what the doctor ordered for Given. But United have only kept three clean sheets in their last 15 Premier League games – against Aston Villa and twice against Bolton Wanderers at St James’s Park when, on the second occasion, Given saved a Kevin Nolan penalty.
  10. They've now got an advertisement for Newcastle United Mugs on the main page
  11. www.nufc.co.uk Magpies Away Trip - Middlesbrough Magpies are pleased to announce the first Away Trip of the 2008/09 season. This time we're travelling to Riverside Stadium on Saturday 29th November to see Newcastle play Middlesbrough. The Magpie team are inviting you to apply for tickets. It's a fantastic family day out with a great opportunity to see some quality football especially from our new signings!! Places are limited? "Don't Delay - Act Today" Price is £99 for one adult and one child The price includes return coach transport from St James' Park and tickets into the game for one adult and one child. We'll also keep you entertained on the journey with films and competitions, and the Junior Magpies team are always at hand ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 100 quid for £49 worth of tickets plus coach travel? so effectively you'd be paying 30 odd quid to watch some films on a bus? (if you assume coach travel is a tenner each) How stupid do they think our fans are? And it seems like whoever wrote the article isn't sure if plaes are limited or not
  12. ...are gay. Each one taking me an hour or two at a time to do with cheesy clichéd questions such as "Describe an event in your life when you took a risk and it didn't pay off" and "Describe a time when you solved a bullying problem" etc etc. Doing my nut in.
  13. Will be on the train to Fulham at the time of the silence.
  14. Cuellar, Young and Milner? How are they shocking, they have hardly played football yet? :/ And FWIW Cuellar and Young has been bloody brilliant so far this season. Young is actually proving me wrong, as I didnt think he was worth the money. Cant see many RB's being better then him and available for less then £ 6 Mill to us tbh. Personal favo. Cuellar is easily worth more then what we paid. Just top class CB. The fact that we got Davies, Cuellar and Laursen is awesome. Milner is understandable though. He hasnt been given much of a time yet, but I can see why people think MON pushed it there. Still Ashley Young was fairly average coming to us, and he has developed into pure brilliance with MON and Robertsons help. Still I've learned not to question MON signings. I was sceptical to his dealings as Petrov really struggled settling in, never looked close to the money we paid. But this season he has argueably been the MotM in 70-80% of the matches we have played. Top class player. I also think MON knows the market isnt going to cooldown any time soon. MON also had to build an entire side with us, which a lot of people to realise. When Randy arrived we had a threadbare squad and players like Knight, Harewood, Salifou etc. they were bought for a reason. You need a squad. And you need those players who will accept the bench and be ready when called for. The very same players who grinded us a win away in Europe today! It just takes time to build a club again, but I think he is doing an awesome job. Never ever ever thought we would have progressed as fast as we have done when MON got here. Not in my wildest dreams. I think the main idea for most clubs is to look at what a manager does with a club in terms of success. I couldnt give a toss if MON bought Beye for £ 20 Mill if he continued our progress. And he really has earned respect on those terms. He can sign Bramble and I would support him. Anyway my 2 cents. Rip it apart. 2-0 2-0 2-0 har dee har dee har har
  15. 79 grand + Milan Baros. So in effect 76 grand.
  16. Don't see why not tbh. If we get a bit of stability into the club after the takeover and the major players stay out of the injury room then we're as good as anyone of the challengers for 5th.
  17. Like Stevie said, train to Darlo then change for Boro should have you there in under an hour. The direct train goes via about 12 shitty little stops and takes an hour and 20.
  18. I used to get the busses a couple of years back, but it really is like an organised school trip. Get the train 90% of the time now and drive the rest.
  19. Faye and Beye for a combined 3.5mill. Outstanding if you ask me. Shame for every one of those came a Smith or a Rozehnal.
  20. HABIB BEYE really is talking the talk at Newcastle. Beye wasted no time falling in love with the Toon after his arrival from Marseille in August 2007. And the full-back — nicknamed Whitley Beye by team-mates after the nearby seaside town — has been pretty quick at picking up the Geordie lingo, too. The idea of a French-speaking Senegal international giving it plenty of ‘Alreet, pet’ and ‘Why aye man’ may seem strange. But thanks to legendary Sky Sports darts commentator and Newcastle nut Sid Waddell, Beye is just pretty canny reet now. (That’s ‘He is doing fine’ for readers south of the Tyne.) Sid’s book on how to speak Geordie, Taak of the Toon, has become a big hit in the Beye household. Beye, 31, said: “I started speaking Geordie with Neil the kitman so someone at the club gave me Sid’s book to learn some more. “I used to come to training when I first arrived and all the guys who work there would say ‘Why aye man’ and I didn’t have a clue what they were saying. “I didn’t know what it was until someone said it was ‘Hello’ in Geordie. Now every morning I come in and say ‘Why aye man, how are you, canny lad?’ “They love it. Everybody thinks it is very funny to hear a French speaker talk Geordie, but I like learning all about the culture and the different language. “I never hear normal English words like ‘Good morning’. It is always ‘Why aye man’, ‘Canny lad’ and ‘Alreet pet’. “These words are brilliant and I use them if I’m down the pub or in a restaurant. “When I first heard someone saying ‘pet’ it was strange. A pet is a dog or cat where I come from, so it was funny hearing someone say it to a woman. “When I go back to France or Senegal perhaps I will start speaking Geordie. My dad came over a few weeks ago and I said ‘Why aye man’ to him. “He said ‘What is that? Is it English?’ I said ‘No, it is Geordie, man’.” New Toon boss Joe Kinnear — a Dublin-born Londoner — complained that communication was a big problem in Newcastle’s multi-lingual dressing room. But Beye reckons all his foreign pals have copied him and started speaking Geordie. He added: “Now the Spanish guys have started speaking like me. People are speaking French, Spanish, English. “When Neil the kitman comes into the dressing room he shouts out ‘English’ — and everyone starts shouting in Geordie.” Beye, who cost £2million from Ligue 1 side Marseille, is a rare thing at St James’ Park — a Sam Allardyce signing who is actually worth the money. And the Senegal international has thrown himself firmly into the North East way of life. He said: “I love the whole culture. I’ve had fish and chips in Tynemouth and enjoy finding out more about the area. “When you are a footballer all you see is the training ground and stadium, but you must try and get to know what is going on around you. "Marseille is very different to Newcastle. There you have the sun on your back for 11 months — here we have the wind for 11 months. “But I like it. Before I came to Newcastle I always thought I wouldn’t like to play in the North of England. Now, though, I am happy. Friendly “The people are so friendly to me. Learning about a new culture has really helped me settle. I can relate to Geordies. “I don’t think I will ever get it 100 per cent, but I know plenty of words already!” Newcastle start the day in 17th spot and Kinnear could be lost for words if his men are back in the bottom three after Aston Villa’s visit on Monday night. The Magpies have been boosted by Tuesday’s 2-1 win over West Brom and Beye said: “If we beat Villa it will be a great step. “It has been tough for everyone but we are showing signs of improvement. “The club went through a hard time when Kevin Keegan left. Everybody liked him. But Joe is here now, he has settled us down and we are improving all the time. “Joe speaks his own language too! Everybody has their language. Everybody is different and you must go along with that. “I still think we can get into the Premier League’s top 10 this season.” And that, as the Toon Army and Beye would say, would be ‘Champion!’
  21. Kettering Town hitting the top end of the Conference table
  22. 1) smoggy 2) mackem 3) black country 4) scouse 5) welsh
  23. Win Draw Draw Win Loss is the minimum they can get. 12 points shouldn't be an unrealistic aim, but unfortuntely is.
