  1. Refuses to play for the toon because of the insomnia comment ssn now
  2. Newcastle have joined Bolton in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso, BBC Sport understands. The 22-year-old's agent Paulo Barbosa has claimed Manchester City are also interested in him. BBC Radio 5 Live's senior football reporter Ian Dennis said: "Sporting are believed to value him at about £12m.
  3. Huddersfield Town have confirmed that the club has offered an open invitation to Kevin Keegan to join the coaching staff at the Galpharm Stadium. Speculation is rife that the former England and Newcastle manager could be poised to take-up a part-time role alongside manager Lee Clark and assistant Terry McDermott. Keegan is close friends with both, having worked with them at St James' Park and Huddsersfield chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: "His relationship with Lee and his staff goes back a long way and is very strong. 'I know that our coaching staff are in close contact with him and he is taking an active interest in events here. 'There is an open invitation to Kevin to come to the club and see for himself the exciting things we are doing and I hope that one day he will take up the offer.'
  4. So, anyway, I expect a team something along the lines of: Harper Edgar Taylor Bassong Enrique Lovenkrands Butt Coloccini Jonas Carroll Duff with Martins and Smith probably on the bench.
  5. Had fuck all to do but pick the ball out of his net twice.
  6. Anybody actually fit for a game them??? Should I bring me boots?
  7. .cock reporting Edgar will play the well known "right back on the bench" role: NUFC: Steve Harper, David Edgar, Jose Enrique, Steven Taylor, Sebastien Bassong, Joey Barton, Fabricio Coloccini, Damien Duff, Geremi, Michael Owen ©, Andy Carroll Subs: Fraser Forster, Peter Lovenkrands, Xisco, David Edgar, Kazenga LuaLua, Ryan Donaldson, Brad Inman
  8. Would soften the blow of selling Shay if the money went on this lad.... Sport.co.uk can exclusively reveal that Newcastle United have entered the race to sign Miguel Veloso, according to the player’s agent. Speaking exclusively to sport.co.uk, Paolo Barbosa revealed that there would be more news on the situation regarding talks between Bolton and Sporting tomorrow morning, but when asked if any other European sides had shown interest he confirmed: “Yes, Newcastle have also made an enquiry.” Barbosa also told sport.co.uk yesterday that Manchester City had made tentative enquiries as to the player's availability but that their interest had died since the recruitment of Nigel de Jong. Veloso has been touted as one of the hottest properties in European football with several clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal and Fiorentina all thought to be interested. The 22-year-old is known for his combative qualities in the heart of midfield and is thought to be available for a fee in the region of £12m.
  9. It's kind of irrelevant because the West Brom game the week after is of equal importance.
  10. 3-0 defeat, all the goals in the second half and Barton sent off.
  11. Italian sources saying we've had a bid in/fee agreed for him http://www.firenzeviola.it/index.php?actio...idnotizia=37768
  12. I'd sell if we had any decent alternative. However, we don't, and are unlikely to have come February 2nd. Keep.
  13. Lovenkrands his signed his six month deal
  14. No He's a very good keeper but nothing more, Harper isn't that far behind him IMO, not as good a shot-stopper but better command of his box (by a little), which Shay has always been garbage at. OK OK so Harper may walk as well at the end of the season, BUT the question was about this season Harper wouldn't walk if he was first choice.
  15. How many times have you seen him play?
  16. None for having a season ticket. 1 per away game that you buy ticket(s) for.
  17. I'm astonished that these two model professionals would do something like this.
  18. Ask Ashley you thick tool. I'm 10000000% sure Keegan wasn't happy with his squad depth.
  19. I thought Ashley had made a masterstroke by re-appointing Keegan and would offer his substantial, but not ridiculous, financial backing to allow him to run the team his way. I thought Keegan would build his team and would complete his unfinished business, win a trophy, and ride off into the sunset.........
  20. Was saying yesterday we should be in for him. If his fitness is ok, which is debatable, then he's a good signing.
  21. He's now told the Chronicle that it is Gomis we're chasing after all
