"70% cross" according to Tonali. Spoken like a true Betfair aficionado.6 points
-
Yes. I think their model assumes they can move on senior players on long term contracts like Mudryk for decent fees, and make a fat profit on some of the junior players they've been stockpiling. If they can't do that and there's no CL football, they'll have a huge wage bill, a bloated and disaffected squad, and not enough income to cover their losses. Here's hoping 🤞6 points

There's decline everywhere which is more noticeable the older you are, seeing Wallsend high street and Shields road genuinely saddens me enough without some clever cunt trying to take the piss so they can try to earn enough from YouTube to be lazy bastards.4 points

Thoroughly enjoyed the game tonight, especially having a great view of Tonali's winner, despite being sat in front of Thomas Frank's Wansbeck Army who appeared to think NUFC were worse than Jim Smith's 90/91 vintage. He didn't even celebrate the winner.4 points

And Diaz was offside in the build up to their goal. If this is given Isak’s disallowed goal in the final should’ve been too3 points

One against Sheff Wed away comes to mind which was towards the corner. I remember Trevor Francis commentating saying he couldn't have meant it - bitter, jealous cunt that he was. Beardsley's post match comment to the "did you mean it" question was "Anyone who knows me knows I did".3 points

UK hit with 10% tariffs, but he's basically lashed out at every major economy in the world. It's an attempt to push back globalisation I suppose. They also now have their anti abortion pressure groups taking root in the UK and are apparently 'monitoring' our handling of the issue. We voted to be weak. That's actually the only thing now that stops me getting angry about these things. We voted for our own enfeeblement, we have fucking no one to blame now that bigger kids are bullying us.3 points

Actually I'm gonna start thumbs down-ing this shit. If "likes" are as important as every youtuber claims, I assume "don't likes" are just as powerful in the other direction.2 points

Aye there's more more of this shit cropping up on YouTube. There was one in Byker that popped up on my feed the other day that didn't get watched.2 points

He put a 10% tarriff on Diego Garcia, an uninhabited island, well uninhabited apart from the US military base there.2 points

We were loads better than them for the most part though, should have scored a couple at least before the penalty. Can't be too harsh on Pope for the pen as their player came from a different line and would only have been sighted late. Can say that now that Sandro made it academic with that insane thunderous strike.2 points

My thoughts entirely … Tonali doing Beardsley-esque shit. Not that any of us are complaining but we saw Pedro do this sort of stuff on more than one occasion.2 points

Popes kicking seems to have got a bit better of late? Sandro was magnificent, crowd sang his name from start to finish2 points

Looked slightly more active than he has in recent weeks. Now a step above retirement season Shearer and close to retirement season Shola2 points

https://www.athletic-club.eus/en/news/2021/01/09/how-athletic-turned-red-and-white/ Aye, clearly the clubs historian knows less than some knacker with a Jackanory complex. If the above actually happened, the poor fella probably just told them any old shite to get them out of the door.2 points

Yeah. we've hit a massive milestone by winning something this season. It might be subconsciously easy to take the foot off the pedal slightly which wouldn't result in a good run. Whatever happens we can look at this season as being great. I'd love us to get CL but if we don't then im still happy.2 points

just a few thoughts from me, sure they've all been covered already but... hadn't originally intended going to this one, but so pleased I did now, a proper rollercoaster and not all of it particularly pleasant. but then it always had the potential to be so after what preceded it. it's hard to knock isak but I think it's reasonable to say he probably should've had a hat trick before the goal he did score, that said mind had we had the game wrapped up in the 1st half brentford would've had cause to be pissed off because I didn't think we were anywhere near our best. as has been the case on several occasions at home this season it had all the hallmarks of being another game where we throw the 3 points away and we so very nearly did. and then.... I mean, I was in the gallowgate, so canny far away and me eyes aren't as good as they used to be but even so, it took a second or two to start celebrating because of disbelief and rubbing the old orbs to make sure they were still functioning. a goal to win any fucking football match deserved or not and intended or not. I don't care that tonali has subsequently said it was 70% cross, it was a fucking thunderbolt that supermac would've been proud of and a one you'll always remember witnessing. fucking tremendous.1 point

Gordon's back for Leicester, isn't he? Isak went off with a tight groin again, and we can't do 90 with Wilson up front if Isak doesn't make it.1 point
-
Great result that. Brentford are a tricky side and good away from home, so we've done well to win it. Wouldn't mind signing Mbuemo either.1 point

If Bellamy was shit he wouldn’t have gotten away with his attitude. The counter argument is that good managers should be able to manage these mavericks better. I hate Dyer more than anything. He seems regretful the way he treated Bobby but he can get fucked as far as I’m concerned.1 point

it’s a 10/10 season whatever happens next. The target for the season must have been qualify for Europe and win a cup and they have hit both objectives. I honestly never thought I’d live to see the latter during the Ashley years. Anything from here is a bonus but it was great to hear the likes of Trippier and Bruno talking about wanting to finish top four now. They have a single focus now with no distractions. I think they’ll do it. They showed in the games against Liverpool and arsenal - and on the nine game winning run - that they’re good enough to do it.1 point
