Shearer refusing to accept Isak is the first Newcastle player to get back to back 20+ goals in the top flight. Had to have his entire Newcastle career read back to him, with Richards laughing in the background at some of his paltry returns during his later seasons.9 points

He also clothes-lined Aaron Hughes in the build-up to one of the goals when they beat us 5-3. Horrible little arsewipe.6 points

I just checked on youtube and there are various Man Utd fan channels glorifying it that's another few years of hatred banked for me.6 points

I didn't think he was as good as some made out at the beginning of his first season joining us, (early in the promotion year) but he just got better and the first couple of seasons up he was immense. (Helped he had quality alongside him, Bracewell rolled back the years, Venison later moved into midfield for a while and it was a real unit). KK had the knack of not only spotting which players were good but who could do other jobs really well, Howey had been experimenting with playing CB in training before KK, KK took one look and said stay as a striker and you've no future here, play as a CB and it's a different story. I'm pretty sure Lee played out more wide at Charlton and did so at the beginning but his engine and knack of scoring had him in the middle of the park getting up and down soon enough.5 points

While that's true, I still wonder if Howe's ability to develop players is what is taking high ceiling players and really making them the best versions of themselves.5 points

I loved Tiote but the less said about Pardew trying to make him a more progressive passer when Cabaye left, the better God bless him for trying though4 points

Look up "running through treacle" in the dictionary and there's a picture of Rob Lee at that exact moment, bless him. But absolutely, fuck Solskjaer (or "Sol-SHAHrah" as one of the old-school commentators used to call him for some inexplicable reason)4 points

The success rate of the club in the transfer market since the takeover is fucking wild. Bruno, Tonali, Isak, Hall, Livramento, Botman. Ridiculous.4 points

He looked poor because he couldn’t do it but he never hid. Showed his good character but limitations at the same time. He was neat and tidy in possession getting the ball off the back 4 but he absolutely needed a bit of creativity alongside him3 points

Rob Lee was absolutely class at his best bit he lost form the year we should’ve won the title in the run in. He wasn’t the only one and an error on KK’s part (in retrospect) imo was there weren’t enough players with the experience of having won things to get us across the line. Nerves crept in because of that. But Lee was pretty complete as a CM. Box to box, could put his foot in plus goals. And a great engine plus work ethic. Cabaye was a good player but I’d say he benefited from having Tiote alongside him. Tiote wasn’t creative but he covered so much ground. Tiote even allowed Nolan to look good in CM two. Nolan had an eye for goal but was not mobile. At Bolton they played a 3 to get the most out of him. Tiote was a fabulous athlete (with more to his game than just that).3 points

Cabaye looked good in a shit team. He lasted 2 years at PSG before he ended up at Palace. Tonali would get in most midfields in the world3 points

Wood did his job as far as giving us a focal point during our relegation fight tbf. He was a stop gap and it worked. Targett is probably the only one I’d say hasn’t worked but even then, we were making a successful loan move permanent so it looked like a no-brainer. Fucking mental that we even made an instant profit on Kelly2 points

Got tests back, got full works done, full blood count, thyroid, iron, Magnesium, B12 all look normal, so I don't have diabetes Inflammation (CRP and ESR both slightly elevated) about 12 and 15 but doc off today and not seen the results but back on Mon, so asked if she would give me a call. Could well be post viral fatigue / long covid if everything else looks normal. No real evidence of ME / MS / MND in the family so fairly confident it isnt that Was feeling grand with the wee man for the match on Weds, we walked 25k steps on Weds, stood most of the game in LWC L7 and 17k steps yesterday, absolutely fecked today mind you! Sleeping and eating well.2 points

Aye they run out of assets eventually. But the fact that it's so far dug them out of hundreds of millions of overspending on transfers is fucking disgusting. I think they've cleared at least £300m of PSR trouble with hotels and the women's team so far. If they had a decent strategy they'd have the CL qualification sewn up for the foreseeable future. They still might if their current crop come to anything. It absolutely reeks.2 points

One of many footballers who've been unlucky with injuries. Him coming in the team WITH Beresford, (although unpopular), with Ginola being dropped helped us get CL football as they just rotated positions with ease and Daveed by that time was in a bit of a huff that the Barcelona move fell through and Kenny wanted him to do a bit of graft.2 points

It takes some doing to outperform a Russian gangster in the dodgy bastard leagues, but to give credit where it's due Boehly has done a great job 👏2 points

I was too young to appreciate how good he was I suppose - just a kid so honestly didn't understand what made a player 'good' other than that they scored goals a lot. I still remember him firmly from that era though, he's one of the first 5 players I'd think of.2 points

I just pinched the pic from WhatsApp, nowt to do with me! (Same as the song). Moretti is made in Burton on Trent I think?2 points

Does Rob Lee get any credit with the younger generations? In contrast players like Warren Barton (who was absolute shite at best) is a cult hero and often finds his way into Top XI discussions.2 points

Rob Lee stats. I’d have thought he might have scored more goals whilst he was here. Can’t see Sandro playing nearly 400 games for us tbh either. 50 assists isn’t too shabby…2 points

Aye, wasn’t slating him. More the knacker manager. Then again, it’s not like Ashley was going to get him a proper replacement2 points

Didnt notice it at the time but Joelinton also gave Isak and absolute bollocking when he didn't pass to Barnes. Good to see.2 points

Whenever I think of Rob Lee I always remember Solskjaer hacking him down when he was through on a 1v1 against Man Utd to potentially win us the game. Absolutely hated OGS for years after that.2 points

Yeah I didn't believe that either but it seems to check out, Shearer never did it, Macdonald never did it, Milburn never did it.2 points
