Core memory made tonight. My 64 year old dad was my daughters age the last time we won a trophy17 points

And while I’m on a roll, a special mention for Kieron Trippier. He joined us from a CL contender when we were in danger of relegation and was one of the key players in dragging us to safety and CL qualification. He may be past his best now but was fantastic today. If he leaves in the summer then at least he can do it with a winner’s medal. It was nice to see him going up to lift the trophy with Bruno but the fact that the both of them making sure that Lascelles made his way up to lift it with them just speaks volumes about the squad we have and the camaraderie that Eddie and Mad Dog have instilled. Legends, every one of them.14 points

It's not JUST winning a fucking trophy, it's turning over fucking Liverpool to do it. That is exactly what we needed to actually kick on a level and Howe and the lads fucking did it. I know I came out beforehand and said I thought we could win but honestly it was the most slender of hopes. Eddie Howe, for me, is now a club legend. Along with half that fucking team. Winning that might even keep the likes of Isak around in the summer, it proves we actually can succeed. FFS it's huge. So proud of the club. And as I've seen a few people on here say now - I love all of you. Wouldn't be the same to enjoy these moments without you all. Cheers lads, and congrats.14 points

It’s going to take a while to sink in but we’ve actually fucking won something. I know the manager made changes like the hotel but this team compared to two years ago was night and day. We turned up today without emotion, it was a team of killers out there to win. Not a single player let themselves down today, they worked their balls off for each other. Absolutely delighted to see Dan Burn score the opener, a man who embodies what our club is and for me Joelinton was MotM. I just feel sorry for the rest of you cunts who don’t have a bank holiday tomorrow to sleep off the hangover.12 points

After getting Blyth relegated I think I deserve some credit for not going to Wembley but watching it in the Strawberry instead. Well done me12 points

All the lads were class, but burn and Joelinton were fucking everywhere. Unbelievable from the pair of them. Im only just 40 and never thought I would see the day, to do it against those cunts as well.8 points

Could be worse, I've just been to the garden centre for a coffee with the in-laws and had to endure her dad's 15 minute epic about his visit to the opticians. A story that no one else on the planet would have considered even worthy of a 30 second update, which he spun out into a 15 minute anecdote. Entirely regulation. No change to his prescription.8 points

Goes back to the 70s. Both teams were facing relegation. Both had their last game on the same night. Mackems just had to match Coventry’s result to stay up. Meant to KO at the same time. Because of an accident or something, traffic was bad in Coventry so Jimmy Hill delayed KO by 15 mins. Mackems lost their game 0-2. Coventry drew 2-2. Coventry stayed up, mackems went down and stayed down. So, because their own team weren’t good enough, the Morlocks hate Jimmy Hill8 points

I don’t know if anyone still follows exile on twitter but, if you do, can you let him know it’s 18,943 days since Sunderland last won a trophy?7 points

It would be fucking immense if the wheels came off Liverpool in the league now and they blew it, and went into a complete tailspin, tussling with Man United in the bottom half of the table next year, no trophies for the next 70 years.7 points

I thought it would never come. We may never win another trophy as long as we live - not that any of us really think that, not anymore - but this one paid for many, many years of heartache. Howay the lads now and forever! (I’m especially glad that the greatest African ever to live and heir to Mandela did absolutely fuck all.)7 points

Just a quick prediction: Liverpool will lift the trophy, and Salah will definitely not have to go off after 10 minutes with an injury.7 points

I said to Alex yesterday that the player I would be most pleased for if we win would be Joelinton. He was massive today and one of the main reason we actually turned up today. The way he won duels and the way he was celebrating it showed his character. I can’t remember ever seeing a player rising that high after being considered a flop.6 points

To absolutely dominate the media's suggestive best team in the world, was not a something I would ever have expected to see a few years ago. A gladitorial performance by many but for me Joelinton was MOTM. So many excellent performances (Burn, Tonali, Trips and Tino to name a few) but Joe was everywhere. His composure in the middle relieved us of pressure regularly, sprung attacks & he was horrible in every tackle. Stopped Liverpool being anything like the side they have been for months. The perfect game for Pope. You could see every ball was a long ball from Liverpool and while there weren't many knock ons (thanks BDB), any that fed through were mopped up by Pope. Outside of 1 save from Jones, had nothing else to do mind. Eddie Howe, take a bow. Words can't describe the effect your development and dedication to our football club has had on a generation of supporters. Thank you. Absolutely smashed on the champagne and loving every moment. Wonderul that so many of the players that helped project us to where we are now, have won something as a squad before the inevitability of upgrading begins in the summer. They will never leave our hearts. Savour all & have cracking respective evenings. Mon the maggies.6 points

I think Eddie has won enough matches to finish the season with us. Well done.6 points

Interesting Howe saying they played a completely different way at Anfield two weeks ago cos they didn't want to tip their hand for today. Said the players didn't even know that that's what they were doing, but he already had their plan for the cup final. What a fucking bloke man.6 points

Can't believe what I've just seen. Just brilliant. A near perfect half. More of the same please What a header from Burn too, fairytale stuff. I've had me newborn in me arms the whole time. He wants to be fed now. Not that I'm superstitious or anything at all but shut it you little twerp I'm not putting you down for another 45 at least.6 points

We came a respectable 4th that year, a feat we have matched or bettered many times since. The last time they matched it was 75 years ago! They really are fucking shite.6 points
