  1. No one yet realised that Eddie is hustling Liverpool at this point? Play absolutely shite for the games preceeding (as well as not playing our biggest threat in the game at Anfield as to not allow them a chance to work out what to do) before blowing them away in the first half followed by a shut out in the 2nd with both Pope and Dubravka in goal.

  4. @wykikitoon final reply on your point about us not being that club yet: we could and arguably should be that club four years into the takeover. But the cartel and their bullshit rules have almost certainly stopped us doing it in the timeframe needed to hang on to Isak, unless Howe performs another miracle. It’s so bloody annoying.

  5. Two points off the CL spots and in a cup final. FFS, give your head a shake.

  7. I'm strangely more depressed about this result and the Gordon red card than I have been for a long time. Yes yes I know we are in the LC final, but I honestly think we have zero chance of winning it, we're not even playing like a team that's going to finish the season well, let alone lift a cup against the best side in the division without Gordon. I thought we had a chance in the FA cup just because most of the best teams are out of it already. No disrespect to Brighton but we should've beaten them at home, theyre not that good. I realise it's a bit premature to write an obituary for the season but we look tired and directionless, even a bit demotivated. As others have said we needed to recruit in the last 2 windows but have brought nobody in and this is the result. The PSR rules have us exactly where we're supposed to be despite being the richest club in the league and probably the world. Sorry to be a downer but seriously, fuck football

  9. Nah there was an off ball incident in the 3-3 vs Liverpool at home. That cruise ship magician cunt shouldered Gordon in the face deliberately and it wasn’t even blown up or investigated by VAR. Blatant red card & far, far worse than Gordon did yesterday.

  10. I feel a bit like we did just before the winning run. Questioning the manager’s loyalty to certain players etc. But then Howe found a way to galvanise the players and we went on that run. Who knows what happens next. We’ve always been a bit of a streaky team under Howe. The cup final has come at a crap time again and it will take some effort to win but all hope is not lost for the season. Champions league football is still a possibility if we can get on a heater again. I do feel very sorry for Howe because the owners weren’t able to find a way to help him out in January. I understand we had to sell the likes of Miggy and Kelly because of PSR but even a loan signing, like Villa were able to do with Arsensio and Rashford, would have given the squad a boost for the run in. If it goes tits up, we lose the final and miss out on Europe, Howe might end up losing his job, which I think would be incredibly harsh given the circumstances.

  13. Eddie is going to have to massively earn his corn for the final, assuming there's no appeal win the idea of Barnes starting horrifies me on the wembley pitch trying to get up and down the flank to attack then defend v Liverpool. Hall being a doubt just intensifies this. Sometimes you can luck into a formation through lack of options and I think this is where we could be at now. You couldn't make it up with first Pope now Gordon getting straight reds just before two finals, we're fucking cursed as a club, man.

  17. It’ll be all the more annoying if we do miss out on CL and Isak does end up going because it fits the galling narrative Sky have pushed all season.

  18. It would be harsh to get rid of Howe but if it happens Mitchell had better make sure whoever replaces him is demonstrably better. And there’s no guarantees with that. He may view it as a good time to have a significant clear out given this apparent whopping pot of money we have to spend and bring his own man in. There’s nothing to fear in the right man (look at that cunt at Liverpool, lots saying at the end of last season that their rebuild had failed) but changing coach and a significant amount of players at the same time is very tricky indeed…

  23. I agree, even when he's not at his best his pace troubles defenders and causes them to make mistakes. We don't have anyone with the same combination of acceleration, speed and fast feet. I feel like Osula will be more of a nuisance than Barnes, though Barnes is capable of a great shot and can also stand up a good cross. From everything we've seen Howe is more likely to use Willock and Barnes there than Osula, I'd be leaning toward Barnes and Osula (at least give him some minutes to throw everything he can at the defense). Willock has just frustrated me too much, getting into good positions and then being wasteful. It's not through a lack of effort though which is at least one positive.

  24. It really feels like the season is on the edge now with things starting to slip away from us. The mounting injuries and general tiredness feels like it could derail us completely. There's a feeling building like everything is close to exploding. It's all a tad annoying too since our problems are partially the contrived product of a ladder-cutting exercise by the establishment. There's a distinct limit to the feeling of authenticity associated with our "struggle" since it feels like what happens in the offices of the games "regulators" dictates what we can reasonably expect to achieve on the pitch. As for the game, Gordon is an idiot. His frustration is understandable. But that's really poor. Brighton should have had a player sent off before for a very clear second-yellow card offence. They only got the eventual red card as a square up. Pretty even game though. I can't really begrudge them a victory. A lot of wasted energy for no result for an already lagging squad just adds more concern for our last games of the season. We're coming into the League Cup final in a really bad moment. Same as last time. We've hit the self-destruct button before even getting to the venue. Same old Newcastle. We make life hard enough for ourselves without the added restrictions.

Few outside the top 6 can boast a forward line with 3 talents like Fulkrug, Kudus and Bowen but they’re 15th and we're 2 points off the fuckin champions league ya cunts so ffs cheer the fuck up , you could support fuckin SUNDERLAND m! imagine how bastard miserable you’d be then? 🤷🏻‍♂️☺️

  29. The reality is that contracts mean very little in football nowadays - if a player wants to move then he’ll get his move. No club is going to let an expensive asset depreciate in value by sticking him in the reserves for any length of time - they’re going to cash in for the biggest fee they can get. There is bugger all loyalty from the vast majority of players either (& why should there be?) If a so called ‘bigger’ club shows an interest - especially with their agents whispering in their ears - they’re going to be off. No amount of social media posts saying how much they love the fans & the area, badge-kissing or shouting ‘Vamos’ will change that.

  31. i agree, when you look at the prices players have gone for recently. if he pushes for a move, liverpool or someone could get him for £120m rather than the £150m price mooted earlier.

  32. Taking away the outcome and the way we played pretty average, I actually enjoyed the game yesterday. Was a proper cup-tie. Not a lot in it, could have went either way, a bit of drama. I'll be avoiding the rest of the FA Cup from here until the end though, not sure what would be worse, City winning it again or a club who we are in and around the league with like Fulham, Brighton, Bournemouth or Villa winning it.

  33. It's taken me all day of avoiding the result and trying to watch 15 minutes here and there, to finally get to the end of that, and excuse me for a moment, utter fucking dross. Brighton are absolute shite and yet somehow we, at home, make them look like galatico Real Madrid. The FA cup is something we should be busting a gut to win, especially considering who we are playing in the LC final and yet we still turn up playing fucking that. Time and time again they revert to a team that looks like 11 players running in different directions with no plan or ability. This fucking club! Enjoy Isak, Gordon (you moron), Tonali, Bruno and big Joe because they will be agitating for moves at the end of this season once we finish 9th or 10th. </end of reactional rant>

  34. To be fair, it would be far worse to be a genuine Man U supporter. They are currently going through their Ashley years. I feel no sympathy for them as a club.

  35. The amount of times over the years where we've managed to invent a worse outcome than a loss; often red cards, sometimes injuries, always disappointing. This feeling is sadly not uncommon.
