  2. Seems this club can’t do any right this season. A week ago we had folk moaning that we only turn up against the ‘bigger’ teams, three decent victories against ‘lower’ teams later and well we’ve just beaten two lots of reserves and a shit Ipswich and “Let’s see how we turn up against the bigger teams”. I’m assuming the festive sauce has been deployed early.

  4. Frankly stupendous. Operation “get mugs to customers” is going well. No nasty messages to attend to. Food shop all done Saturday and presents all done yesterday. Even better news is my Flu has gone this morning leaving me not only in fine health to enjoy food and presents, but also in good voice to congratulate our lass for achieving all of that without me

  5. Last day of work, get to the bus stop at my normal time 06:15 and, OH, WE ARE ON FUCKING FESTIVE SCHEDULE!!!! My bus isn't due for another HOUR AND A FUCKING HALF. FUCKING CUNTS

  6. Choosing between if you would rather Liverpool or Chelsea winning the league is like choosing if you would rather get Gonorrohea from Strawberry down at the club or crabs from her friend Candy Cane: Either way, makes one feel like shit.

  7. An excerpt from the guardian match report, "If facing the power of a nation state-funded opponent was not enough." Meanwhile the BBC mustn't think the power of a nation state is all that as their match report featured how were we going to hold on to Isak?

  10. Why not catch both - how often do threesomes present themselves? Plus by the time the symptoms show it’ll be after new year anyway, so you get the added benefit of a few days off on sick and your wife will leave you. I fail to see the downside.

  12. This makes me realise how fortunate we are that Stevie isn't still around. His sympathy for Tonali's gambling addiction would have been magnified by his general appreciation for all things Apennine.

  13. This will be our fourth game in 12 days. Let’s hope that Bunce has been able to optimise their training workloads because we’ll need that intensity to beat these lot.

  18. I used to look after / record the timesheets for a bunch of IT contractors in a previous job. I totally get the attitude because if you take a day off it’s effectively costing you £500 or whatever. But I always thought it was a bit sad if you were earning a six figure sum but hardly took any leave. Like what’s the point if you can’t enjoy it a bit?

  19. I'm working this week because I'm a contractor so if I don't work I don't get paid. Also I'm really tight and don't like losing money.

  20. If I’d said to you what is Tonali’s best position a month ago what would you have said? He’d never put a dominant performance in for us at any stage and now after three very good performances I’ve read on three occasions since Saturday that he’s world class I hope to fuck he is world class but let’s not start sucking each other off until we see how he gets on v McGinn, Tielemans and Onana on Thursday

  21. Late to this thread update. I forgot what that was so googled it and fuck me the cost! Congrats to HMHM for hopefully improving your life work balance and massive respect for PL for doing voluntary work. As for the rest, well, thought I was supposed to be the miserablist of this board? I'm minded of George Harrison's "All things must pass" at this point. Things are cyclical. Looking shit at the moment but history tells us ultimately they will get better at some point. Maybe.

  22. I think at this stage of the season our destiny is very much in our own hands not tottenhams. start building a bit of consistency and we'll finish above them regardless of their result yesterday. so aye, I'd have preferred a spurs win than the dippers cementing their place at the top. the idea of those scouse cunts winning the title and telling every fucker how it means more to them and how they deserve it by virtue of them living by some higher code of morality whilst simultaneously covering anybody close by in phlegm, literally makes my flesh crawl.

  24. We lack pace at the back. Fabian Schar on the wane. Botman to start. Wear his underpants on the outside. And score. We win against Unai "nee balls" Emery. Howe has his number. Our supporters go home happy. Villa supporters go home.

  25. Based on performance at that time that was absolutely true. Tonali was gradually introduced as his fitness grew and now his performances are lightyears better than his "running about a lot" which was the story of his earlier appearances. On current form our best three are Big Joe/Bruno and Tonali, that wasn't the case earlier in the season but it certainly is now. They measure and monitor these fuckers to the far end of a fart, if they're not ticking all the boxes their playing time will reflect that. I would suggest any changes to the team that happen are more fitness/physical and data driven than much else. To say Howe "now knows" like everyone saw something he didn't is disingenuous IMO, everyone and their uncle knows Tonali is more gifted than Longstaff but he just wasn't physically (and maybe tactically) ready. And yeah an 80% Tonali may likely still be a better player than 100% Longstaff but he's also more likely to get injured playing at less than 100%, they'll have all that data too calculating probabilites etc etc.

  26. The nation state funded factor was defeated by PSR before it even started. The important figure is not how much you can't spend, which we are unparalleled in.

  29. If you read that article Waugh wrote about Bunce, that Wyki posted in the NUFC general chat thread, I reckon Tonali didn't get game time because he wasn't at "peak" fitness, he is now, and we're seeing the results.

  36. Very important, team seems much more together at the moment I remember Keegan saying he liked to build partnerships around the pitch, pairs of players who link well. At the moment him and Isak seem to be dovetailing nicely. Yes it's against "lesser teams" but the very complaint everybody was making was that we only turn up against the big teams For my money most important thing that needs fixing in the squad is cover for Isak. If he's out we've got nobody
