  3. Aye, the little cunt strode down the drive at half 6 this morning like nothing happened Luckily, my lass was looking out the window at the time and clocked him. She opened the front door and he darted back in. I’ve got a feeling that he was just over the road, either under one of the cars that hadn’t moved in two days or bunkered into someone’s overgrown garden. He’s spot on though. He was obviously anxious since he darted right in and then when he seen me, he sprinted at me for a head scratch. He’s had his tea and now he’s been asleep since half 7. We haven’t slept a wink so I’ve just had 4 hours there and managed to get a half day in to start later. The other cat is still a bit skitzy with him but she probably just needs to sniff his arse a couple of more times. To say I’m relieved is an understatement

  7. If "we only want a team who tries" actually means anything, then Murphy is that player. Never complains and always gives everything.

  11. That's fair enough. Outside of football, the main reason scousers are disiked imo is that they have a very strong partisan regional identity, reinforced by a strong accent. Does that not sound familiar though? Whereas places around the greater Manchester area, West Yorks, South Yorks, east and west midlands, let's be honest, you could be anywhere. Nothing wrong with having a strong regional identity imo. My thing against scousers is their self-perceived wit. Sorry lads, you're really not that funny, sayting something in a squeaky voice doesn't make it so.

  12. True. The American media lap up cocky superstars. We’d smash them down. We love a try-hard that just falls short. Maybe I should have likened us more to Eddie The Eagle….

  14. The mental thing for me is that Murphy is out performing Gordon on the metrics that matter - he has 6 goal contributions to Gordon’s 4. He got 4 of those in the last two games alone. I’m not for one second claiming he’s better than Gordon, but he’s definitely better than we all give him credit for IMO.

  22. I was gonna avoid this topic today, but fuck it. howay mate, that first statement is ludicrous man, the entire football community at the time knew it would kick off in belgium, there'd been several liverpool supporters stabbed in rome the year before and they wanted revenge. the fact that it was an entirely different set of supporters they'd be coming in to contact with was neither here nor there, they were italian and that was good enough. it wasn't poor infrastructure or stewarding that tore down the segregation fencing and charged at the juventus supporters waving flag poles it was liverpool's support. you've been and truly scousewashed here I'm afraid, the only thing you've missed out is their claim they'd been infiltrated by chelsea's headhunters! I've no intention of getting all high and mighty about newcastle's support, I can't stand some of the fuckers! i can't help thinking you've picked a couple of bad examples there though, I think the petrol bomber stated at the time that it was his intention to put newcastle on the map, but not only that his actions provided the basis for one of the best footballing ditties ever created, who can say hand on heart that they haven't enjoyed a rousing rendition of 'he's only a poor little hammer'? i doff my hat to his just and noble cause! as for the ferry landing hoo- hah, I haven't really got a great deal of sympathy and that would apply had the victim been one of ours instead of a mackem. if two sets of blokes make arrangements to kick the shit out of each other and somebody gets the shit kicked out of them, well, you haven't really got anybody to blame but yourself have you? it's the bud the police horse incident i feel the most shame over, I mean what the fuck was the stupid cunt even thinking? I can't abide cruelty to animals, but it wasn't even that, the horse probably weighed the best part of a ton and never so much as flinched. fancy losing your liberty for 12 months for that mincy jab? the stupid twat!

  23. Yeah, of course. No person from Liverpool is ever critical of any aspect of the city. You know this from your extensive experience of meeting scousers. I mean, its not possible for me to disprove your frankly ludicrous experience but I can tell you it doesn't match mine at all. I've only ever lived in two city areas for any length of time, Newcastle and Liverpool, and what personally has always struck me is the similarities, not the differences. If we take popular culture and drama as an example we can at least objectively anchor to, what drama has ever painted Liverpool in a rosy light? From Boys to the Blackstuff to the Responder more recently, dramas written by Scousers set in Merseyside are normally pretty unrelentingly bleak, in much the same way NE ones often are. So on the one hand, they're accused of wallowing in self pity and on the other, according to you, they paint Liverpool as some type of Nirvana. Or could it be that the reality is, you've got your preconceived opinions and that is going to colour your perception regardless? That the reality is, they've had an immensely successful football club in living memory (well, two really) whilst we have been plucky losers, and maybe really, we wish the situations were reversed? I know I do.

  26. Murph absolutely could be upgraded as starting RW. But - He was in position to score 5 he converted two of them that’s 40% conversion rate. As a team our conversion rate, this season, is 7.5% goals/shots, Brentford are best at 16.6%. Two of the ones he missed were on his weaker left foot too. He gives balance to the team allowing others to play in their best positions and having the same player in front of him regularly must help Tino, he’s still a kid and chopping and changing at RW won’t be doing him any favours at all.

  30. Outside of football I don't have a problem with scousers as a rule, but then outside of football I don't really have a problem with anyone - even mackems - so long as football or human rights records don't come up. Within the confines of football I don't like any cunt - even a good proportion of our own fans can get fucked tbh. However, I do hold a special kind of dislike for Liverpool fans (for purely footballing reasons) - followed closely by Everton fans and then Villa fans. I'd take the crazy ramblings of the world's biggest MLF over any of those three because at least the mackem is unintentionally hilarious 100% of the time.

  33. The two goals he scored were beauts. He can't half hit a ball. But when it goes wrong for him fuck me it's wrong. I think he's got a great attitude and part of the reason why the squad is tight like it is. But, and nothing on him, I do hope he is a squad player soon 😂
