  1. Monique, you really need to let this shite go. Gordon, on his day, which last season was more often than not, can be the best player on the pitch. ASM, on his day, which was very seldom, could also be the best player on the pitch but you know what? It was not even close to being often enough. Personally I don't think Maxi likes playing football very much, he has other stuff that he really wants to do but he's a decent footballer and it pays a great wage and it will pay him more than enough that when he retires he will be able to spend the rest of his life designing and manufacturing his versions of Dungeons and Dragons, which is his true passion. ASM could have dug in like a tick if he really didn't want to go but as you've pointed out $300k a week, tax free, is a lot of money for someone whose passion lies elsewhere. Gordon is important to the team you support, so maybe, just maybe, remember that and be supportive, opposed to being combative about this rivalry you've made. I doubt Gordon or ASM feel this way about each other. And before you start in on Gordon's form this season, I'm of the thought that what happened over the summer, so being picked for England and then being made watch from the bench while plodders play plus the red scouse rumours have affected him badly. I also wouldn't be surprised if someone, Southgate, his staff or another player, has told him that playing for Newcastle will get him no where, which would also not help.

  4. Wilson expected to be out for longer, and Isak's stalled contract talks have Arsenal on "red alert" according to Hope. So that's nice.

  5. I'm not sure it's newsworthy that a player contracted to 2028 on megawages isn't being offered an extension in 2024 tbf

  6. At the minute our plan b would be to put the ball in the net - Chris Wood would probably be the better option at present given his recent form. The problem with an unpredictable player is for all they can turn a game on it's head they can also cost you massively. Maxi was always as likely to turn a draw into a loss with a stupid decision as he was to turn a loss into a draw or win with some magic.

  7. It still amazes me people see that level of narcissism and sycophancy and think "yeah, that's for me. Yeee Haaah!". My opinion of the American people has never been lower.

  8. I'm not putting Isak on Mitchell either. The lad might not want to stay here, or the wage budget might not currently support what he wants. Every decent player stalls their contract talks at some point though. Happened with Bruno, happened with Gordon, happened with Joelinton.

  10. Half of Isak’s problem is lack of decent service… you could say the same about Chris Wood when he was here too..

  11. Dont mind these LTA. They wont be laughing when ASM becomes the first player from Saudi to win the Ballon'dor, and the shout out to his friends' shady facebook watch selling business during the acceptance speech will also be pretty epic.

  13. Had a look on the internet to see how old he was and it showed a clip of him appearing in an episode of wonder woman and all thoughts of Tarzan departed to be replaced by thoughts of Lynda Carter...... ....Sorry, big lad, RIP.

  18. Aye ok Isak is contracted to 2028, why would you want to renew him just now ?? A "new" five year deal gets you one more year to 2029. Not stalled, just not started would be my guess.

  20. Isak has been poor this season in whatever metric you want to apportion it by. You really need to have competition and options in all positions especially ones where players can be out of form.

  22. Trump is a fan of Hitler, says "he did a lot of good things". He says he needs his generals to be more like Hitler's generals. His former Chief of Staff, a West Point graduate, has broken cover to go on the record with this information, describing Trump as a fascist. Harris says she agrees and that these people should be listened to. Sopel's interpretation: the Dems STILL aren't getting their messaging right. Later in the episode, Maitlis chuckles while she announces that "there's a story about him groping another young girl, and we're not even covering it because we've heard it all before." These are meant to be the cream of the crop of British journalists.

  23. Had an interesting chat with one of my directors this morning. There's a lad who's leaving. I get on with him as does most of the office. The director and MD though fucking hate him. He's frustrating to put it. Personally I get on with him, he's a good lad who's kind hearted, but seriously on the spectrum. He's got ADHD or something that affects his work. I've done a few projects with him and worked out a way of working with him as to keep him focused. He's fucked a few clients off by ignoring shit etc. If he's not interested in it he won't do it. It's that simple. The main gaffer isn't confrontational and this has lead to this lad over the last 8-9 months just taking the piss to some extent. He comes in dressed like a fucking tramp most days despite us having some dress code and he fucks off for hair cuts whenever he likes etc. This has resulted in some frustration amongst some. So this morning I was speaking with the director on who's going to take over his projects when he leaves. We then got talking about his new role and I said I think it will be a good move for him and he seems motivated over the last few weeks and think it is good for him and good for us. I tried saying I don't think it's good for us as a business losing him as when he's focused he's a good lad to have. The director went on saying he should be focused every day and wouldn't listen that everyone is different and some need a focus and a plan. He then said 'He can't even be focused to dress appropriately every day'. I thought I can't leave this, so asked why as his line manager and director hasn't he pulled him up on that. His reply was 'It's easier to leave things as he doesn't like to be told what to do' I don't agree with this. If he doesn't like to be told what to do there are processes as a business we can go through. The last resort, sack the cunt. So what this guy is saying, in the future if someone else or others act like this, it's fine, they can get away with it. FWIW. This lad when I have worked with him wasn't like that and I think he just has a beef with the main guy and this guy. I just think he needs a focus and managing differently to get the best out of him. We delivered two cracking jobs, on time and the client has come back a couple of times with other jobs so we/he must have done something right!

  27. So first of all, let’s just put to one side that it’s 3am and I’m wide awake looking for rug inspiration on Facebook marketplace. So this ad pops up . Not sure what it either has to do with rugs or me, especially now I’ve lost weight. I mean I was obviously intrigued and didn’t know this was a thing But have to say, now feel a little bit sorry for Agnes, all alone and “he” is just not up to the job of massaging her breasts. 3 stars “Well, he does his job, but after a while it doesn’t feel pleasant” (Alas Toontastic won’t let me upload Angela’s post as I have reached my image limit ) I also do not know how long “a while” was.

  30. But why pay him more now, do it next year if you want to, you've got 3 years left. If (big if given it's Hope reporting) he's making CL noises now he's likely going to be making them next year even if you pay him. There's plenty time. Bruno and AG were down to 2 years but based on their interviews/comments they were committed to the club.

  31. The start of the News Agents tonight. They play a clip of Harris on Anderson Cooper, agreeing that Trump is a fascist and saying that the people that have worked with him previously should be listened to and believe. Maitlis: what does this tell us about the state of the race? Sopel: it tells us that Kamala Harris still hasn't worked out how to land a blow on Donald Trump. I don't know how that is his interpretation, but there we have it.

  37. The good thing about this is that it should then lead to a "Okay, well what about this? Is that deep fake too? Or this? How about this one?" There is so much evidence of him doing this sort of shit that and it's long overdue a rerun. It'll keep the idiots distracted until the end of the election. I think it's about time someone dug up the court documents from when he was sued in a joint rape case with Epstein against a literal child.

  38. I was thinking about this and you're right, especially about things like health care in the US. But at the same time, I think for the vast majority their lives are comfortable enough. Which is why I think if Trump loses there won't be civil war or major insurrection, because these people have got things to lose and do not want to go to prison. We've always had relative poverty. We've never before had charlatans like Trump and Farage. The answer lies somewhere else imo, most notably the spread of disinformation via social media.
