Not a lot to argue with. The bit about "nonsensical allegations of corruption"... I don't think there's corruption, but I definitely think there are some lines for certain clubs that don't exist for others. Not because it's written down anywhere, or because anyone is trying to make things unfair, but because it's ingrained on the psyche of the game in this country. Look at Sky last night with three Man United pundits. They ask Roy Keane what his thoughts are before the match and he's saying things like "Look fingers crossed, it's gonna be a tough game." Fingers crossed?! Sky don't think there's anything wrong with that. There's a weight that transfers on to the game itself from the dominant position these teams have in the media. Big clubs get big decisions. And when they don't they get a big fuss made of it that smaller clubs don't, because they have representation in the media. That has an effect on future decisions. Of course it fucking does. Let's just go back to one man giving big clubs the big decisions. At least it looked a bit less fucking blatant.6 points

I'm pretty convinced that if she'd said "Look at these raising money for charity, fair play" ... you'd have replied: "Has tha sen t'fucking size of them? Like th'egg and spoon race wee'aht t'spoon!"6 points

My sister is similar. She messages Wor Kid more because he amuses her where I just ignore her It was Leeds Marathon / Half at the weekend. Her Fella did the Marathon. He did it last year in a very respectful 4h. He wasn't aiming to beat it just do similar and enjoy it. I went out to cheer him and the others on. I knew a lot of others doing it and its a great atmosphere. Anyway's my sister was moaning because it clashed with the Leeds match Conversation went; 'FFS It's playoff's match Sunday' 'Don't go then, stay at home and watch that shite' '#MOT' Then Sunday comes, she goes to near the finish 'Just got here have you seen him?' 'Aye, he looks good' 'There's some right units doing it' 'Well they're running fair play to em and raising brass for charities' 'Yeh but look how fat they are' 'You've never done sport in your life let alone think about raising brass for charity' 'Fuck off' That was the end of it6 points

I’ve woke up still annoyed. This felt quite pivotal. We can’t seem to get our noses past these cunts when it really matters. That’s ingrained in both clubs. Tripper looked like that fat fullback on a Sunday league team that you know used to be good but just doesn’t have the legs anymore. Dubs was shite. I’m assuming Pope is in the same boat as Trippier otherwise he’d be playing. If we had Schar and Tino we would have won that. Hopefully we keep Isak and Bruno when we don’t make the euro spots although I’m not too bothered if we make the conference spot. We can just concentrate on the league. Keeping the star players is key though. Hall is progressing every game. It would be class if he could sneak into the euros squad. Trips won’t be going on that showing.6 points

That's the problem, though. It seems as though the on field referee is scared to make a decision, knowing VAR is there to check and let him know, whereas the VAR then follows the on field decision. Someone needs to take responsibilty, either on or off field, but both seem to be abrogating that responsibility. It was a clear and obvious error. That's precisely what VAR's DNA was about, surely.5 points

I have to say, (and I thought this as soon as I heard it), Burn has to switch on a bit more pre-game in that interview as he was definitely being set up by sky with this rivalry bollocks scenario which was always going to blow up in our faces and was obviously a nice stage prop for Keane to denigrate another football club with zero comebacks from the presenter. The leading questions got their desired result. Eddie coaching required for the big lad.5 points

I know I've been banging this drum for ages, but I think it bears repeating. Not a huge difference in our ability to make and take chances but... it's clear to me that we've given up waaaay more chances and conceded way more goals after Pope's injury.4 points

So the ref didn’t give the pen and neither did VAR?… sounds like a case of just following the on field decision. Not too surprised about last night. The Spurs performance was the exception not the rule for this season. We’ve been consistently fuckin rubbish away from home. Building your hopes up for Sunday would be a mistake too….4 points

I'm not one of these who thinks that individual referees are out to get us but the name Jared Gillett keeps sticking in my mind when it comes to outrageous decisions against us and for that I am holding you partially responsible.4 points

Pretty clear why we picked this lad up last summer now. Only 19 man. Tino as well. Full back positions sorted for the next 5+ years.4 points

Two seasons ago we were a club in perennial relegation battles, and we turned up last night having already beaten these twice this season, home and away. These are the stats from the home PL game. We absolutely battered them, and we had the better of the action last night, and we're probably about to finish ahead of them in the league. I haven't posted the EFL stats cos they don't collect as many in that competition. This is two seasons after being permanent relegation battlers. I would say we're at least on a level with them now, although I actually think we're better than them. And if we've made up that much ground, that quickly, we'll kick on from here. The tide is turning, but even Man City can turn up to their place and get beat. I kept your comments about Trippier in cos I think they're incredibly harsh and, days on from you going in on people for criticising Almiron, Burn, etc, a little hypocritical.4 points

we're still a work in progress and last year was an outlier. i expect another season or two of being in and around top 6 rather than top 4 as we gradually replace the ashley-era players with better quality. it's a journey. i blame the players not the manager for last night - particularly the likes of longstaff and dubravka. I love these lads but we can't get sentimental. i'd love jacob murphy to still be here when we finally win a trophy. it's not their fault they're not good enough for where we want to be. howe has worked miracles with the legacy players so far tbf - such a shame they couldn't win the league cup last season to reward them for keeping us in the premier league all those years.3 points

As it’s the last game of the season, I propose that everyone starts a match thread, and we let chaos decide which one we use for the game. 0-5. Pope with a double hat trick, nutmegging the entire opposition team in the process. “ Puh tit ont ruuurd!3 points

ok mr ex bookie what are the odds on us getting more than a point? Look at our away record man. I’m not too disappointed with this season all things taken into account but ffs at least be realistic unlike the fuckin odds compilers here… 3/1 for the draw is like buying money 😆3 points

No doubt PGMOL will acknowledge the mistake and promise to do better next time (when it's irrelevant).3 points

The great thing about that, being just a little off from being a truly great team, is that you only need 2-3 additional successful moves to make the transition. 2-3 quality signings that can tip the balance, we all know in which areas. If the club fails to do that in the summer, it will be more of just this and we'll have noone else to blame.3 points

It was the little things, the moments as Howe will put it. Their first goal Trippier putting them all onside and unmarked in the middle of the box, their second our whole team sucked towards the ball from the corner leaving their player in acres of space with nothing between him and the back of the goal. Their third, what should have been a regulation save. At the other end; Longstaff through with the clearest chance of the entire game and he puts it into a very saveable space, three on two and Isak takes a shot under pressure instead of passing to an unmarked player in a central position. It's those moments that this match hinged on. We weren't there for them and they were. Plus the VAR and probably a little bit of the genocide too.3 points

Similar to Gordon when he came, he found training hard. Good https://www.newcastleworld.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/difficult-lewis-hall-drops-transfer-bombshell-and-opens-up-about-newcastle-united-struggles-46294593 points

https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/may/16/dead-hand-of-the-immovable-glazers-keeps-strangling-manchester-united If the picture Liew paints is accurate, Man United are a club in slow decline, and Ratcliffe's involvement is probably just a very convenient way for the Glazers to divert the blame and avoid scrutiny, whilst continuing to leech money from the club. Happy days.2 points

The only positive from that result is that it may keep Ten Bob there a bit longer (although I doubt that Ratcliffe is that stupid). As long as we can keep Bruno, Isak etc, I will even accept no tin pot European adventure, but the end to this season is pretty deflating so it can2 points

Ah man, what to say that isn’t already been said? How the fuck we haven’t got anything out of that game is beyond me. Man U are lifting. We had so many chances to win it. All their goals were shit to concede from our perspective - a trippier brain fart, then an unmarked swing from a corner. Dubs should have done better for the second and the third goals. We should have had a pen, but it’s old Trafford so forget about that. Isak, Longstaff and Miggy all have to score. annoying but this game isn’t the reason we won’t finish top 6.2 points

I was watching the game on Sky for the first time in ages. How the fuck do they think a panel of Cole, the swearing Cork cunt and this fat bearded cunt can be appropriate. Fucking ridiculous non-discussion of the penalty appeal in the first half. Cunts everywhere.2 points
