@Zaro, I can only apologise for the rude boys n this thread, they are so naughty. I’ve reported them to the head of the Newcastle United Ultras, Adam Pearson, who will be speaking with them all. He’s your man for all fan club enquiries btw, you can contact him on Twitter ( Adam is the lad on the left, by the way).6 points

As a fan I want us to sign a player this window, but I can see why they’re so hesitant. We will likely have a good profit this annual period, with the new sponsors, sale of ASM, and CL money - then next year we will have the adidas deal etc. So there’s a risk of throwing good money at a bad situation if we were to dip into the January market. They likely hope we turn our form around, have a strong finish with what we have and an FA cup run. Then we go into next season with at least one decent FFP year in the bank, and a ton of players back.6 points

Interesting looking at the stats like that. Maybe losing Pope is one of the biggest factors in our demise after all. Whilst you get the impression Dubravka has improved a lot with increasing match fitness and experience, I think you always have to be wary with keepers who appear to make lots of great reflex saves, and think a bit more deeply as to why this is required. Not just that he doesn't sweep, but also the knock on effect of this rest of the team, from defence right through to attack.5 points

This from twitter sums up the Tories and the lengths they go to and subterfuge they'll try to do for even local things outside their domain. It appears a blue marra from wearside is getting worked up about 20mph zones. In Wales. Fucking bizarre people.4 points

Given that he's got a contract until 2030 we'd be doing very well to get him on a free.4 points

Financial rules were originally designed to protect clubs from going bust but it has been turned out that it just benefits the big six. it also has no real punishment for the owners/decision makers who can just disappear without any real punishment while the clubs get docked points and tumble down the league(s). ( slightly different from FFP but ’m thinking about Luton from 10+ years ago here where they were docked about 30 points due to administration and transfer irregularities as a prime example of owners fucking a club then doing a runner)3 points

Poor Kalvin. Another 6 months on the bench. At least he will be able to get some game time when England play.3 points

Yes, it was IDENTICAL to Brunos challenge. They both went to block/divert the ball. Both were probably happy to leave a mark on each other knowing this. Its a mans game. Just play on. I quite enjoyed the Mackem game where there could have been lots of VAR checks but we just played on without 100 slow-mo replays. VAR needs to fuck off and let the onfield ref just play on unless there is something off the ball. The ref is looking at the game, let him have the balls to make the decision. Slo-mo makes every tackle look a million times worse.3 points

Considering his release clause doesn't kick in until the summer and it would royally fuck us over to sell him in Jan then we're more likely to charge them at least a £50m premium to have him this month. Shoddy journalism at it's finest.2 points
