Why do they keep saying “you defend his gambling addiction” as if he’s done some completely unforgivable act . I agree he should be punished as he broke the rules but it’s not some egregious act, he allegedly put some money on his team to win a game of football, it’s not like he sexually assaulted a child - that would be a weird thing to support a player through imo.9 points

This, and not to mention that the PL is massively sponsored by gambling companies so this has a whiff of hypocrisy about it. anyway. "A disgrace to people who seriously struggle with gambling addictions" - these people should clearly be ostracised, suspended from their place of work, banned from even training with their colleagues, and left to their own (smart phone gambling) devices. 'Cos that makes sense. The fucking hypocrisy man. We know it's because you fear and hate our upcoming success, just fucking admit it.6 points

So not only has he been accused of being a cunt, now he's a nonce too? Honestly man, this board.6 points

His character and associated joy and shithousery brings a new element to the side, much like BDB's fortitude, grit and desire, Sven's steely demeanour, Kieran's universally respected leadship, Joelinton's passion and aggression, Isak's icy cool.... I could go on. He's got to be a great player for the squad, you know he's not getting upset or making bad challenges in training, but rather is bringing the team more together. The fact that he's also capable of top quality finishes and passing means he can have a very real impact. He's 28 but has had a pretty easy run of games over the last few seasons in that a lot of his games are as a substitute. He has another three years to run on his contract and I can see him continuing to improve his onfield vision and decision making over this period thereby maintaining his status as a very valuable member of the squad especially when we have a busy European schedule.6 points

One of my mates' mum knows Murphy's mum. Goes to the same church or something She gives out tickets to the game from time to time, sounds like, dare I say it, a really good family.6 points

*Years ago under Robson when we were doing well* "Get on to our man at R5live and get him to interview Jack Charlton live on air. Ring Jack and tell him about it in advance, make sure he knows it's imperative he bigs up how pleased he is about NUFC doing well as he supported them as a child. Tell him there's a drink or two in it for him."5 points

Aye that is a weird one tbh. How is supporting a player with a gambling addiction and showing them they're still loved "a disgrace to people who seriously struggle with gambling addictions". Surely they should feel encouraged by this, as well as the potential knock on effect of thousands of people having a reason to find some compassion over the issue. Seriously people are just twisting on for the absolute sake of it on this and yet again it has nothing to do with the issue in hand, and everything to do with being emotionally feeble and insecure about the rise of our club.5 points

I never thought I would think there would be a more important signing than Keegan as a player, and as a manager. But Trippier and Howe are making me reassess. It's glorious5 points

Aye. None of it makes sense. Why is the name wrong? I literally can't see him refernced as that anywhere else. How many 11 year olds has photoshop skills to do this, with 2011 IT? And Bolotelli was playing for Man city for over a year by that time, so where's the motive even? And even if it was him, he would have been a minor. Thing is, they're attempting to use this as evidence Newcastle is a racist city. The brass neck of these insular, backward, Brexiter, Tommy Robinson wannabe cunts is staggering.5 points

I know there’s healthy competition at right back for England but it’s hard to imagine there’s anyone playing better than he has the past 12 months in that position.5 points

I see a lot of people on there are questioning Mowbray’s position again after a disappointing result at the weekend where we won 4-05 points

I was fairly convinced the story was going to end up she sucked off her bf, and wondered if they were going to see the funny side or split up because they'd both been unfaithful. But holy fuck that is grim. Thank fuck I missed out on these whacky stag parties where you visit brothels with your father in law, due to a combination of being ancient and having no friends. 👍4 points

He's truly world class like, perhaps the only player since Shearer we can put in that category. Everything he does reeks of quality. Touch, positioning, passing; and he knows exactly what he's doing all the time. We've got a handful of very very good players in the form of their lives, yet he still absolutely stands out every game. Not even Bruno looks as good on the ball game in game out.4 points

I was thinking about this the other day. Suarez got a ban of just over a month for racially abusing an opponent whereas Tonali could be looking at a 12 month ban for placing bets. Hardly seem proportionate.4 points

You can't be using blatant fluff pieces as evidence. If I went on Look North to talk about Toontastic, I'd probably end up saying you lot are mostly alright when what I really think is you're just a fucking bunch of unmitigated arseholes. Thewlis doesn't need to know that and I wouldn't give Jeff Brown the satisfaction.4 points

Yeah if I had a gambling addiction and was given the choice between getting supported and cheered by fans during a difficult time, or having to peer out from a tunnel and feel excluded, I think I know what I'd choose. This is a Liverpool fan though, and they're never happier than when they feel persecuted, so maybe this is just how your average gambling addicted Liverpool fan would like to be treated.4 points

This time last year I dreaded to see his name even on the subs list. His turnaround in the time since is almost at the same level as we seen from Joelinton. He's a lad who made his feelings about the club known from day one and it was sad that someone who wanted to be here so much was completely unable to perform at this level. I delighted for him that he's managed to turn things around so much.4 points

Harrison Ashby: Feel bad for him, once again an unused sub while the guy ahead of him does nothing special to warrant Ashby getting dropped for him earlier in the season. I can only assume they want to spend the minutes on their own guy but then... Why bring Ashby on on loan. Really hope their was a minimum play time clause in this loan deal. Garang Kuol: Another tough loss for Volendam, and this one's a game that Kuol on the offensive end will probably want to wipe from his memory real quick. He kicked off the match on the left wing but only lasted 78 minutes before the coach subbed him out. Taking a look at the stats, his dribbling attempts didn't go too well – he was dispossessed every single time out of five tries. However, when he did get his hands on the ball, he made the most of it, although he didnt get on the ball all that much (7 out of 8 successful passes). On the bright side, his defensive game was on point, managing four successful tackles, perhaps his best yet. Their was something to celebrate for Kuol though, as he won the goal of the month for his debut goal earlier this month. Lets have a another look at that beaut. (Start from 5:00) Yankuba Minteh: Minteh bounced back like a true pro, leaving that previous game in the rearview mirror and returning to his season-long trend of excellence with Feyenoord. So, he got robbed of a goal (stupid offside call), and the assist stars didn't align either, but damn, was he on fire. He took on those defenders like it was a personal challenge (100% dribbling success), and he even served up some juicy opportunities for his teammates. The anticipation is real – can't wait to see Minteh in action at SJP!4 points

He's mint. All smiles even when he thought the goal was ruled out, and then off on a full celebration when it was confirmed. Having the time of his life, clearly dead bright, and has his head screwed on.4 points

Mad to think the lad was struggling to light the Championship up a few seasons ago, now look at him. The resurgence under Eddie Howe has been nothing short of spectacular, and he seems like a smashing kid too.4 points

Yeah that’s a good piece. I think Newcastle folk hate that neither brother played for Newcastle and bare a grudge. Jack now gets a pass because he retired back to Ashington but when he was Ireland manager he was widely described as a traitor. Everything else that’s thrown at BC is irrelevant shite to this central point. I’ve read his books and he describes the scene where Jackie Milburn is sat at the kitchen table having been sent from the club and was basically telling him not to bother as the club was a fuckin basket case. BC four uncles all played professionally, he’d spend a few summers doing pre season with Bradford City where one of them played. Bobby had three brothers too and they were the most popular kids in the street because when the uncles visited they’d often bring an old casey with them so the Charltons were invariably the only kids on the street with a football. The wife/mother fall out was obviously unpleasant but no one’s business but the falmily’s . Anyone going in strong on BC is wandering down “mackem behaviour lane”… look at that thread, it’s full of people offended by the irrelevant actions of others. Stop it. Now.3 points

I reckon we should drop the "dropped" word, Eddie's doesn't "drop" players, he rotates the squad and I totally believe the players all buy into that, to the point that not starting is not taken as an affront or a harsh/negative thing. Can't recall the last time someone had a stinker enough to be "dropped" in the classical sense.3 points
