  2. Aye, aside from this ref cam footage, nothing else was said about it.

  3. Good enough to be handed the #10 shirt it would appear. Cue LTA's added fume.

  4. Hope that went through rigorous 'Fair Market Value' assessment.

  5. They may as well call that the Jason Tindall rule. It's blatantly been brought in to stop the way him and Howe work. The players running at the ref all getting yellow. That'll not happen to your Man Uniteds and your Liverpools. They'll still be able to pull that shit with wild abandon.

  6. It’s a weird one, can’t really see what it accomplishes. As RobinRobin says the problem imo is more total cunts like Arteta and Klopp screaming at officials and opposition coaches without any punishment.

  7. Jesus Christ, man. Have you seen the defending in this women's football match? FFS.

  9. It’s a fucking shitshow. This is before you consider that people in ambulant categories can’t pick a ticket that fits their situation so basically have to roll the dice or not go. TBH, we should have seen this coming with the CL pricing hike and the fact they had the bare faced cheek to charge £20 for a friendly over Christmas but it’s becoming very worrying that this lot seemingly have no concept of what makes the stadium work as it did last season and as it has in the past. If they want to price out the regular fan in order to make us a “brand”, we’ll see what Eddie Howe thinks when he’s losing 40% of the crowd noise when he needs it in a big game next season. The Villa game is at home, I want to see if Wor Flags has the brass to make a display condemning it as you’d get in Germany. Forget about being pally with Mehdrad and the lads, they need raked over the coals for this shit. Also, £70+ for a ticket when you’ve got the Newcastle Food Bank on every corner of the ground on a match day is genuinely offensive.

  10. If we play one season in Saudi Arabia, that’ll give time to demolish SJP, build a new one, and bury the Indian construction lads that don’t survive. Sorted.

  11. They are absolutely taking the piss, grifting their arses off during the last months of power and openly laughing at us. And yet incredibly 25 to 30% of people would stil vote for them.

  15. You get some selfish cunts who've maybe only known SJP as it is now and who critically, have a ST, who say it can't be moved full stop, won't be the same etc yet for me personally, as long as the stadium was as near as damn it to where it is now then so what? For me, there's only the upper part of the east stand that is still there from my first game, for others even that would've been new. It's selfishness basically. Move anywhere? Of course not. Move a stone's throw up the road? We'd be insane not to as a club.

  17. But this is the missed opportunity imo, where I work, the Helix, would have been perfect 20 years ago. Then the Helix buildings could have been located more centrally in the SJP site. Never mind, joined up thinking doesn't often happen in this country.

  18. Seem to remember someone at the time suggested that Castle Leazes was a red herring and it was basically run up a flagpole to scare the council into agreeing to pass the plans for the Leazes End expansion . Don’t think it got much further than a few drawings in the Chronicle

  20. Start a new job in a different team next week and I got the new home top as a leaving present. It’s actually really smart and quite similar to the 80s Umbro one which was one of the first kits I had. Just wondering if anyone knows of any nice places to visit in the ceremonial county of Durham so I can show it off.

  22. It's a fucking joke. Fuck all happened to Klopp last season for his confrontation with the ref IIRC. The big toothed cunt.

  23. Must admit that, having seen that and being told there was about 90 minutes worth of rain coming, I went to bed, knowing I would wake to the crowing about a series win. Glad what wasn't the case. Frankly, the only person who "dropped the Ashes" was YJB.

  27. well and fucking truly. no choice in where you want to sit, a linked application whereby you might hope to get a seat with a mate counts as one entry in the ballot rather than two, fucking ludicrous, they've as good as obliterated the opportunity of taking your child to the match unless you're happy for them to sit at the opposite side of the ground to you. waste of £37, I hope the cunts get bombarded with complaints. just as an aside, I noticed the other day you mentioned you thought n.u.s.t. were complicit in the new membership scheme, you still think that's the case? there's not many bigger critics than me of the useless twats but even I don't think they could have had any input in to this shite, the club probably don't give a flying fuck what they think. anyway, £44 for a home game against villa, they can go and fuck themselves, that's a 30% hike on last seasons price along with the near 40% increase in the membership cost. back to hoping for the goodwill and generosity of others for the odd away ticket for me, well, until such time as they're made digital too.

  28. If you look at current maps I don’t think there’s enough room there anyway. Unless they buy the student accommodation off the university. I definitely think the proposed plan to move to Gateshead was a red herring back then btw.

  29. Do you mean building on Leazes Park? Is this an option? I think Alex reminded us it was grade 1 listed. It's currently a dump but really the only city centre park. I don't think the town moor or nuns moor are options for similar reasons, and are too far away in any case imo. The Arena is a less convenient option for transport and the town centre and apparently is too small. Anything further or outside the city boundaries can out get to fuck, its the central location that makes SJP special. I still think redevlopment of the Gallowgate and East stands are most likely.

  31. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12931160/rule-changes-for-new-football-season-officials-to-crackdown-on-dissent-be-more-lenient-on-physical-challenges-and-add-on-wasted-time "The threshold for a player to be shown a yellow card for dissent will be reduced this season. Whenever more than one player approaches the referee, at least one of those players, and potentially more, will be shown an automatic yellow card. Practically, any player that runs from a distance to approach the match officials will be booked." That should be interesting Seems like more room to hand out subjective yellows I see they focused on time wasting and dissent which is fine but no more clarity on the at times ludicrous offside, VAR decisions

  34. And as always with these kinds of things, they don't take into account the energy cost of cooking all this food or the cost of owning the various bits of kitchenware (not to mention having the necessary time and kitchen space and fridge/freezer/storage space in the first place, which is often an issue for the people who need this kind of thing the most). I do think there's a strong societal argument for making sure people actually know how to cook on a budget, or indeed at all - it falls under the general "budgeting and useful life skills" category that the school curriculum seems determined to ignore for the most part - but that's very different from the "you wouldn't be as poor if you just learned to be happy with gruel" narrative that keeps rearing its ugly head in various forms, especially among those responsible for (or who love cheerleading for) austerity and its consequences.
