They may as well call that the Jason Tindall rule. It's blatantly been brought in to stop the way him and Howe work. The players running at the ref all getting yellow. That'll not happen to your Man Uniteds and your Liverpools. They'll still be able to pull that shit with wild abandon.5 points

It’s a weird one, can’t really see what it accomplishes. As RobinRobin says the problem imo is more total cunts like Arteta and Klopp screaming at officials and opposition coaches without any punishment.5 points

It’s a fucking shitshow. This is before you consider that people in ambulant categories can’t pick a ticket that fits their situation so basically have to roll the dice or not go. TBH, we should have seen this coming with the CL pricing hike and the fact they had the bare faced cheek to charge £20 for a friendly over Christmas but it’s becoming very worrying that this lot seemingly have no concept of what makes the stadium work as it did last season and as it has in the past. If they want to price out the regular fan in order to make us a “brand”, we’ll see what Eddie Howe thinks when he’s losing 40% of the crowd noise when he needs it in a big game next season. The Villa game is at home, I want to see if Wor Flags has the brass to make a display condemning it as you’d get in Germany. Forget about being pally with Mehdrad and the lads, they need raked over the coals for this shit. Also, £70+ for a ticket when you’ve got the Newcastle Food Bank on every corner of the ground on a match day is genuinely offensive.3 points

If we play one season in Saudi Arabia, that’ll give time to demolish SJP, build a new one, and bury the Indian construction lads that don’t survive. Sorted.3 points

They are absolutely taking the piss, grifting their arses off during the last months of power and openly laughing at us. And yet incredibly 25 to 30% of people would stil vote for them.3 points

You get some selfish cunts who've maybe only known SJP as it is now and who critically, have a ST, who say it can't be moved full stop, won't be the same etc yet for me personally, as long as the stadium was as near as damn it to where it is now then so what? For me, there's only the upper part of the east stand that is still there from my first game, for others even that would've been new. It's selfishness basically. Move anywhere? Of course not. Move a stone's throw up the road? We'd be insane not to as a club.3 points

But this is the missed opportunity imo, where I work, the Helix, would have been perfect 20 years ago. Then the Helix buildings could have been located more centrally in the SJP site. Never mind, joined up thinking doesn't often happen in this country.2 points

Seem to remember someone at the time suggested that Castle Leazes was a red herring and it was basically run up a flagpole to scare the council into agreeing to pass the plans for the Leazes End expansion . Don’t think it got much further than a few drawings in the Chronicle2 points

This ticketing scheme is a total shambles. The kind of thing that could only be spewed from the brain of bonafide Tories2 points

Start a new job in a different team next week and I got the new home top as a leaving present. It’s actually really smart and quite similar to the 80s Umbro one which was one of the first kits I had. Just wondering if anyone knows of any nice places to visit in the ceremonial county of Durham so I can show it off.2 points

It's a fucking joke. Fuck all happened to Klopp last season for his confrontation with the ref IIRC. The big toothed cunt.2 points

Must admit that, having seen that and being told there was about 90 minutes worth of rain coming, I went to bed, knowing I would wake to the crowing about a series win. Glad what wasn't the case. Frankly, the only person who "dropped the Ashes" was YJB.2 points

Good to know, I look out for it. I was gifted a bottle of the Sherry Cask a few years ago and the first sip I think I got a bit angry and probably uttered words to the effect of "WHERE'S THE FUCKING PEAT?" but after another few mouthfuls had calmed down and found myself really liking it, so I'll pick it up sometimes if it's cheaper than Black Label. Our local McDs is next door to a supermarket. I'll typically just order get a coffee and then abandon the missus and kids while they're eating their processed shite to go and browse the whisky isle. Much better system.1 point

Im not massively fussy but prefer a Brazilian if I'm honest. More seriously, I think this thread has spoken that Black Label is the champion of good quality affordable blends, with Chivas being a close second. I'll sometimes settle for Aldi's Highland Black, Jameson Black Barrel or even Grouse Smokey Black as an alternative if I'm feeling particularly cheap but something about the smokey peat flavours feels a bit artificial and the hangovers are way worse than from Mr Walkers Amber Restorative.1 point

ManUtd apparently chucking out 72M pounds on Hojlund. The guy scored something like 9 goals last season. I get its about potential etc etc but how much have they spent again this season? Has the whinging about the glazers died out again? I'm still harboring hope Ten Hag will be a failure. Based on his transfer activity more than anything else, the amounts he's got them to pay for the likes of Antony. Mount is far from a guaranteed success and the same can be said for Onana. Then again they just signed a $1B sponsorship deal so they could probably keep on doing this till something works out finally.1 point

Totally agree with this, also tack on money management. Getting budgeting to become part of your life is really important. You don't have to go the extreme that I do, but we've slashed our outgoings by reducing food waste, staying on top of phone and utility bills, being smart with who we bank with (some accounts give you tech insurance, some travel insurance, etc.). Honestly, the kind of food budgeting we do is that of a zealous nerd. I've a spreadsheet (because of course I have) which breaks down our more regular meals by ingredients and their packaging, likely shelf life and cost. e.g. if I'm making something that needs 1 bell pepper or 1 chicken breast, I'll plan other meals that need them because they are cheaper in a pack of 3. And we'll batch cook staples like Bolognese, or chilli, or curry and freeze individual portions. We've cut down on the number of "I'll just pop out and get" trips to the local Tesco Express or Sainsburys Local.1 point

Got talking to an older NUFC fan in Spain last night. He said he'd been a season ticket holder for 16 years through the 90s and jacked his ticket in under Ashley. Him and a few of his mates at work did the same and now none of them can get to games anymore. It's sad and reminded me of the posts HMHM and TBD made a few days ago. I think I'm probably a bit blinkered as to how things were pre-Ashley. I was too young to go games on my own for most of the 90s, and then lived away from the North East until 2005. So the Ashley years are by and large my barometer as a match going adult. Apologies if I came across as being on the wind up the other day. I totally get why people sacked off the club under Ashley. Out of interest, would people be up for a new 80k seat stadium if it meant everyone who wanted a ticket could get one?1 point
