Well I’m sat in Gran Canaria, with slight sunburn and a missing bag but as a man engaged to be married. If you want to donate to the Strawb wedding fund, please let me know9 points

Look at it this way, if ASM played for another club then would Eddie Howe be interested in signing him? No chance.5 points

Definitely a saleable asset. And add that his sale goes against the wishes of the board's biggest pain in the ass. And LTA likes him too. What's not to like?4 points

Probably but as others have said he's our only saleable asset and sometimes you have to sell your better players for even better players who will take you forward3 points

This is the same as people posting those wordle things last year. Don't understand it, couldn't give a fuck either.3 points

This is an unacceptable about face from you. You gave me endless shit because of my defence of Robert, Ben Arfa and ASM. Derided as a romantic, mocked as a lover of all things fancy, but now I've accepted that what is best for the club and the player is a change, you're wanting him to stay?! Outrageous.3 points

He failed in his remit, but I won't hold it against him. He took himself out of the argument by admitting he couldn't be objective. The topic is I think ASM is our most saleable, least integral player. Your position is that he's irreplaceable (either directly, or in the aggregate). Diego said that he can't speak objectively, so would forgive him his failings because he likes watching him play. I don't have this problem with my wife, because she knows her place.2 points

I'm a fan of ASM, I love watching him play. However he's our most saleable, least integral player. I respect that Diego rates him, but he admits he's not objective. If selling ASM brought in players that better fit Howe's system Diego would be on board while you're still cry-wanking over ASM's highlight video.2 points

Yet again you were wrong in spectacular fashion @The Fish, Diego is a card carrying member of the ASM club.2 points

"You can't really trust me on this issue because I won't be objective at all with this player. I really like ASM. Even if he spends the whole year injured. Even if most of his dribbles aren't effective. Even I never pass the ball. Although after all his Maradonian plays he chooses the last action badly. Even, when he's in the empty goal and ready to score, his Gucci ribbon falls off, covers his eyes, and shoots into the post. I love ASM. He is a charismatic player who chose to be here when no one would have. That you chose to come here despite the fact that you could have opted for better places and that now you are having a hard time. But to which I would not like to turn my back. I think he has the potential to be a differential and that when he has everything in place he can be an incredibly good player at the highest level. I don't know if he ever will. But I want to try. Needless to say, their best matches are on big stages and now comes the UCL. PS: As for Barnes, there's little I can say. I haven't really seen a Leicester game in a couple of years - Diego212 points

Cheers for reminding me, I forgot to let the lads in the guitar thread know I can’t read music but don’t give a fuck anyway.2 points

Congrats strawb mate, just be sure to put pics up of the happy event so we can feel more involved and definitely not be nosey bastards making judgmental comments about your new missus2 points

I don't think they've done anything wrong, I think the timing is just serendipitous. A season before, or after and they would have been fucked.2 points

Looks like he's got a good build for his age. He's only 17 and he's got to be about 6ft and not slight at all. Hopefully see him and Anderson get some game time this season.2 points

I’d be more against it if I didn’t believe that FFP was a total heap of fucking bullshit that was designed purely to keep the established elite in place. When you look at how little we get from the CL compared to others and the minor punishments Manchester United and teams like that receive for breaking FFP it just shows how nonsensical the whole thing is. FWIW I think multi club ownership is one of the biggest threats to fairness, but kind of how KD mentions other clubs do it, while not directly funding a purchase of a top player they’re strengthening - the fee paid for Sesko was a joke for example, the Harrison and Mooy deals both of which were sold on for huge profits. Brighton and Villa have both been called out by UEFA, Arsenal and clubs like it historically used their status and sometimes minor ownership to funnel African prospects into their club using that ability to get around visa requirements. Watfords owners have had great success (comparatively) pushing players from Udinese to Watford which allowed them to get into the PL. My preference would be that you flat out can’t own multiple clubs, but similarly to FFP it’s suited the elite so until they get rid of it fuck them. I also don’t think ASM going there for £40m is ridiculous, no more so than other deals (Neves got similar) it’s not like they’re planning to buy Hendricks for £100m or something.2 points

Going to say it now…despite PiF blatantly helping Chelsea out earlier in the window I think it’s an incredibly bad look for us to sell anyone to a Saudi club owned by PiF. If it were another club we’d all criticise it to say the least . I don’t think our owners have done much wrong since they’ve bought us, the shit that’s been chucked our way has been largely jealousy. This is different, it’s gaming to gain an advantage in the transfer market. All that being said, if we end up with one of the best young attacking talents on the planet in kvaratskhelia my principles will very likely be out the fucking window the moment I’m in a football ground and see him in a black and white shirt2 points
