The club's strategy, for the moment, does not seem to be giving too many clues to the press. The players that we have signed that have been more expensive have hardly been mentioned or it seemed that they were going to another team. Isak and Tonali arrived overnight when there were no rumors for them. Botman (Milan) and Bruno (Arsenal) did make a lot of noise, but because it seemed like there was a war that we had lost. Those who have really sounded the most have been guys like Diego Carlos, Maddison or Paquetá, and they never came. The Trippier, Pope or Burn thing was also sudden and almost without knowing. Gordon never made a sound either and when it seemed like he was going to Chelsea or Tottenham, suddenly we made it official. If Szoboszlai doesn't end up coming, he doesn't worry me, although he seemed like a good player to me. Surely the club has other ideas that have not yet come to the press. And if the level of Almirón or Murphy is the same as last season and Gordon and Saint Maximin can really contribute more than last year (something easy to do), it would not seem like a drama to me not to sign anyone.

I am not fussed. Many of us having seen only little of him, including myself although I could have watched him a lot more than you. He was very good for Hungary when they played Germany most recently and had some very good performances for the club as I can gather. He is certainly talented but there are definitely other players who are as good as him or even better. It will be interesting how much Liverpool will actually pay for him.

I have it on good authority that we are only going to sign players that Adam P can pronounce. Tonali was just at the limit of that so we are going to be looking at players like Eze going forward

It’s one’s like this that make me laugh . 2 year ago we struggled and failed to get Hamza Choudry on loan and now whinging we didn’t buy Tonali and Szoboszlai, fucking hell man we have no idea if we were even actually in for Szoboszlai same as we all had no fucking clue there was any possibility of signing Tonali. We clearly need more players but I feel some of our fans haven’t grasped just how massive a signing Sandro Tonali is for us, he was an integral part of a Scudetto winning side and people complain because we aren’t signing a Hungarian they’d only started hearing about this season. FWIW I’m disappointed as I was excited at the possibilities of both Maddison and Szoboszlai playing for us, but that’s what’s fucking class about all this we’re linked to these types of players and it’s possible, I’m confident we will sign what we need.

Same positions but different order or priority (if yours wasn't in any order then I wholeheartedly apologise). I'd say if we can get a significant upgrade on Burn then that has to be the priority. I'd love Theo Hernandez, but it's unlikely. Then I'd like a right sided centre back. Schar and Botman are great, but the drop is quality is steep. Lascelles going to West Ham (if it happens) would free up a small amount of wages and wouldn't likely command a large fee. Burn is fine as cover, better than Lascelles, but I'd prefer someone better to step into that role. Has to have passing range, in addition to normal defensive qualities. How many chances did Schar create with his quality on the ball? Be handy to have more pace as well. At right wing, unless we can get someone cheap like Guler I think we have enough quality to get by until a top tier talent becomes available to us.
