Ah that's even better, that this club that is so fucking blinded by its victimhood that it can't see just how easy a ride it gets from officials. Please spend your summer writing Points of View letters to the authorities while we get on with planning for the Champions League.9 points

Nice to have done it with a game to spare. It’s going to be a very interesting summer now we can offer any potential additions Champions League football. Once we beat Brighton and Liverpool dropped points it was a virtual certainty but I’m not sure I quite believed it. It’s barely sunken in this morning tbh. 18 months ago we were looking absolutely fucked and thinking about how long a season in the championship might set us back. Probably 3 seasons minimum and we’ve crashed into the elite in half that time anyway. I’m absolutely buzzing about the future9 points

Well, I’ll have a good read of this thread when I’m fully awake but fuck me, that game summed up why Team pampers has been right all along. So nearly typical fucking Newcastle throwing away something special but for Nick Pope. At last I can muster a genuine fucking sausage. Atmosphere was tremendous all game and the after match celebrations were wonderful. Loved Eddies and Grahams Klopesque fist pumps to the Leazes. Grandson also got Miggys autograph so that was very special. First time in years I’ve been in the main East Stand and it’s a bit odd. Not sure what’s going on in the bogs I gave it a go, but no luck. First time I think I’ve been under the surfer flag as well Anyway, thank fuck we’ve done it, we can now enjoy the summer, all the crazy transfer speculation and the big money sponsorship deals. Bring it all on.7 points

I'm just not arsed about buying big stars. Rice would be incredible but he's not coming here. Same goes for Bellingham. I think we're about two years early for big star signing conversations. I'll be happy for us to continue to sign people I've barely heard of who turn out to be absolutely class. You buy these big lads as final jigsaw pieces. You don't start off with them when you've still got work to do on the foundations. OK PIGTAILS!?6 points

A lot of people saying next season could be tricky for us, which is fair enough… management and team untested in Europe, “weak” squad, but… … I have absolutely no doubt the owners are already fully aware, with plans in place, to address the accelerated squad expansion we need. Eddie has already pulled off two seemingly impossible jobs- first, not only avoiding relegation, but finishing 11th. This season, start to finish, has been incredible, and to secure Champions League football with a game spare is ridiculous. Let’s also not forget that Eddie spent his year and a half whilst out of work training with and observing sides across Europe. I’m by no means complacent, but I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have steering us through whatever challenges are coming.6 points

for all the twats who bang on about oil money, the way howe has got a tune about out joelinton, miggy, murphy et al is the most amazing thing about our transformation6 points

Was.the strangest game ever last night. Thank fuck we'd already done the hard work and didn't need a result. I wasn't stressed at the end because in truth even a loss was enough. I took this snap shot of sky after an extended period of time where there were 21 players playing in one end of the pitch. Never seen stats like this. Only one match left then 11 weeks of football withdrawal for me. Transfer talk doesn't interest me much. I wish football was played in the summer with a winter break personally. Well done Eddie, well done rhe team. The good times are back!6 points

That was a frustrating game to be at but once we hit the post a THIRD time, I was more than happy to get a point. Full time was an outpouring of relief, joy and outright euphoria once Howe dropped his guard and gave it five nowt to the Leazes. I had a feeling after we twatted Spurs that we would do it but to actually wrap it up is incredible. Eddie Howe is bringing us silverware eventually. Bring on the “elite” and let’s bloody their fucking noses as well6 points

They will never manage to get to even this. This is the lowest bar for our measure of success, and even if it never goes beyond this, Sunderland will never manage to even equal where we are. Their insignificance is forever.6 points

I’m hate them both equally would prefer Liverpool to miss out from now until eternity. From littlewoods pools, to stopping other teams getting the chance to play in europe to their current whiny entitled state nobody deserves a humbling like those cunts5 points

It really is a tough market. We don't need to bring stars. I think the ideal would be to make 4-5 signings and nothing more. We need to take one more small step, but I don't know which players are left over at the club. It is clear that Lascelles, Lewis, Manquillo or Kraft have no place. They don't even count this season anymore. And I would venture to say that we could also listen to offers for Targett. I think that where we could improve a lot would be by signing players to replace people like Almirón, Murphy, Schar or Longstaff. (I'm not saying sell them, but let them play a secondary role). But it would be so unfair to them after everything they've done this season. On top of players like Longstaff or Murphy, who are such fans of the club. I really think we need a starter LB, a substitute RB, a CB who can compete with Schar for a spot, an MC who can create play, partner with Bruno and most of all stand in for him when he's not around. I think we could repeat the formula with Botman. A player who is not in Top teams but who has a notable level. I can think of players like Timber (Ajax), Facundo Medina (Lens), Le Normand (Real Sociedad), Todibo (Nice), Scalvini (Atalanta), Tapsoba (Leverkusen), Demiral (Atalanta), Hincapie (Leverkusen). I would only spend a lot of money if we could sign Skriniar for free (who seems to want to earn 10M a year at PSG) or Koundé (who seems Barcelona can sell him because they don't like him at all). The rest has worked fine. Isak and Wilson up top and offensive players like Murphy, Almirón, Maxi, Joelinton, Willock. Gordon is not my favourite, but it is clear that he is a bet for the club and that next season he will have a new opportunity. I think you have to be smart and sign players with a future. It is not necessary to spend a million because we do not need it. In addition, surely this year we will have the Fair Play more adjusted for what we did spend last year. I don't know. We can look at players who haven't had opportunities or who could come out like Kalvin Phillips or Tierney. Or players with relegated teams like Lavia, Livramento. Diaby is a player that I like... But he plays on the right wing. And we have Almirón and Murphy there. He could only come if we sell one of us.4 points

fuck me, there's some tortured souls over in the dark place! they've had weeks to come to terms with us likely to qualify for the CL, but no, last night has properly tipped the slobbering masses overboard. they've got threads on flag displays, keith downie, alan shearer, their mods are struggling to parsnip stuff quick enough or merge them all in to the sportswahing thread. thankfully their voice of reason, sofatester, whose only rival to having his life totally consumed by nufc is the certified lunatic exile1968, popped up within half an hour of our match finishing, in our thread, to tell them all they shouldn't be bothered about us! they don't appear to be taking his advice!4 points

Credit where it’s due - they’ve gone on an amazing run at the end of the season to get close. But the league is about consistency (an obvious thing to point out, I know) and the teams above them have been more consistent. They don’t deserve it, we do.4 points

Ok, I'll put you out of your misery..... Get a coat hanger, climb onto your roof when there's a chance of lightning. With one hand hold the ethernet cable, with the other end in your router, and with the other hand hold the coat hanger towards the wrath of Zeus Thunderer whilst chanting "Zeus the all powerful, like Kylie, let me be shocked by the power, shocked by the power of love!" Then let us know how you get on?4 points
