  1. It’s not often you’ll see Real Madrid beat Liverpool on the same night Barcelona lose to Rotherham

  2. In 1892 Newton Heath were still a bunch of drunken micks kicking oil cans around a shitty railway siding at the opposite end of the city from where they play today. I like to remind the Manc side of my family of this as they are entirely descended from said aforementioned Irish immigrant community, apart from Uncle Bob who married my mums sister and is, of all things, Welsh. Obviously he is the only Man Utd fan out of the lot of them

  3. CT's love child has scored the deciding goal against Sunderland, who somehow despite being an upper midtable premier league side are an upper midtable championship side.

  7. Although you personally haven't offended me, you have just reminded me I had a dream last night where a few of us were in Madrid after a game and the locals were just being horrible then trying to pick off stragglers and beat them up, not only that but they were obviously kick boxers so it was even more of a shit house move, I went back in and wasn't happy with the locals but tried to keep my cool till one tried to take the piss and I was about to get a punch in before being jumped on by him and his mates but woke up. I obviously know it was a dream but I'm still slightly in the huff with you.

  12. So, to clarify, you acknowledge that ASM will turn up for a big game yet you'd have him on the bench for this upcoming biggest of big games?

  13. I was going to say that it wasn't like his finishes were spectacular here, had acres of space and put them on target. Good finishes but on any other day at least one probably gets saved. When you're in form they have a way of finding their way in. We'll have a tried and tested proven entity in goals *checks notes* Lorus Karius. Tried and tested by his extremely fine wife at least, one would hope.

  22. I unplugged the TV last night but obviously not for long enough. Turned my phone off and it worked so realised I was probably too quick putting the plug back in on the telly. Stupid iPlayer, totally it's fault, like.

  23. Exactly this. If the fans can see progress even small progress it's a massive thing with what we are used to under Ashley. In terms of playing personnel it will be slow in certain area's due to Ashley massive contract policy the daft cunt. I.e Lewis!

  24. And the fact @RobinRobin lives in Perth, not Scotland, also further complicates the whole discussion - but this place has always been too snobby, too perpetual!

  25. Delaney has been a lot more sympathetic with the Man U fans than he was with our lot. It was all cheap jibes and point scoring, not it’s “not their fault”

  26. I'll give you that man since Peter Jackson filmed it there. My neck of the woods here in Scotland is probably 50% Hobbiton, 50% Royston Vasey.

  28. Through to a cup final at Wembley and the sky wankers still can't bring themselves to show some respect and put the club's fucking name on a graphic. Why? Why are they so deadset against doing it? It isn't an oversight. Honestly, the club needs to get onto this shit now that we'll hopefully be one of the main players in their televised league and not Ashley's bastardised version of NUFC begging for scraps.

  31. Under Ashley I would have been apoplectic because I'd have no faith in NUFC sorting it out in the Summer window. Now I kind of expect another few signings as successful as Botman, Bruno, Burn Pope, Trippier. All of the shirt deals, commercial partnerships, that will come after the season ends will juice our capacity for expenditure I don't doubt we'll be able to build on this season's platform.

  32. I also think the slight disruptions due to injuries have unsettled the side as well. Isak coming back into a team without Bruno has meant he hasn't had the chances that he would have and thus hasn't settled well. Willock being injured, Wilson being injured, these all slightly impact the course of games and the course of preparation for games. I think Gordon's transfer is more like the Wood transfer than what the team 'needed' then and there. It harmed a side, he's a good player and was available at the time for a price we were willing to pay. If I were in charge of transfers I would probably have found a replacement for Shelvey; a younger deep lying playmaker. But I would certainly have ended up paying over the odds for him and wouldn't have got the first choice target in that position. Both of those factors could have longer term impact on the progress of a team. Everything this season has to come with the caveat that we're currently way ahead of schedule, CL challenging, League Cup finalists, in the first full season after the takeover? An objective, business head would have the next 3 years in mind, the next 5, or 10. We, as fans want it all, now.
