It is a hard one. Some performances were below what we have come to expect. I was a bit disappointed with Isak but he has lacked some game time. I think ASM played himself into the game as it went on. We do miss Bruno but that is going to happen as it is the way we have set up the team. We also had the early change of Willock which is not great when working to a plan. I thought that Botman and Burn were not up to their usual standards either. However, we have again got a point and we were playing away from home. We may finish 4th still. Our disappointing games end up in draws rather than our better games. There seems to be some good take aways as well. I thought Longstaff had a good game and Miggy took his goal well. I don't think he would have finished that opportunity at any point last season. Even Murphy looked alright. I feel like we are still doing a lot of things well and the other things are clunky/disappointing rather than horrendous. Cutting out some of the sloppy loss of possession and we should be good.9 points

I want to beat the scousers almost as much as I want to win the cup final. And not because it keeps them further away from the top 4 (though that’s an added bonus). I want to stuff them because we were absolutely robbed of a point - we were unlucky not to win even - when we went to anfield at the start of the season. Plus their fans are some of the worst going and their manager is an obnoxious, smug, arrogant arsehole with ridiculous novelty teeth.7 points

We have to put this disappointing run of games in perspective. Form was always going to drop away at some point. And we’re still not even losing games. We’ve come miles in a very short space of time and expectations have inflated. It’s frustrating we didn’t strengthen our midfield in January. It is frustrating that our season has stalled and we’ve drawn a lot of games with teams we should be beating if we want to finish top 4. But the fact we’re even having this conversation is ridiculous. Agree with whoever it was on the previous page who said the season would still be a triumph if we slip a few places.5 points

I'm bang up for Arsenal blowing their title hopes this Wednesday. I was watching Neville talking to an Arsenal fan the other day and saying "if City pull level with you, they'll win the league by 10 points". Basically saying they know how to win it and your arses will drop. It took way longer than expected for the wobble to arrive but it's in full effect now.3 points

Getting the first trophy would be massive for all sorts of reasons. What I really taking issue with was the assumption the club made a conscious decision not to get someone like Maddison in last month (not you but it does seem to be what sone fans think). It’s far more likely he wasn’t available (like Gordon in the summer). I know people will think letting Wood and Shelvey go without direct replacements was a risk. But not taking the opportunity to get rid was maybe a bigger risk to the long / medium term plan. I.e. being saddled with them and it preventing getting as many players in come the summer. Especially given the latter’s extension clause. I know what you mean about fabs not being rational but it’s the job of the people running the club to take a more objective view3 points

Of course this is true and if I think rationally the club have done everything the right way so far. But I don't watch football to be rational. Also got to say I think a lot of the problem psychologically with me and I suspect many others is related to our fairly recent past, ehich has bred defeatism and disappointment. Losing the league in 1996 was crushing but most thought we'd win it in the following years. We didn't. Same with Robson. Another near miss will breed paranoia despite the wealth of our owners. That's why I think the cup is so important. Get this monkey off our back and the psychological boost for the club and fans especially will be massive. Both for this season but going forward. As fans I doubt many of us are confident. But the failures of the past shouldn't affect the players or coaching staff, they've had a clean break from this. So actually my head says we are 50-50 assuming we have a full squad, and remembering they will have just played Barcelona.3 points

Leeds don't look like they can't score either mind. Also they look up for injuring a few Man United players which I'm all about.3 points

We signed a player for £40m. It’s not a missed chance if other targets weren’t available. People go on like you just make a bid for someone and the other club let’s them go just like that. It doesn’t work like that. We’ve made huge strides and are living with legacy of being a zombie club for over a decade. We’re hampered by ffp because our revenue is a joke. We’re performing way above expectations.3 points

Bruno is our most creative midfielder so with him missing we look light on ideas going forwards. ASM is on his way out and will be replaced by Gordon in the coming games. Our main target in the Summer needs to be a Willock replacement at ACM. Maddison would fit the bill. Longstaff and Joelinton can do the dirty work but are unlikely to get many assists. Wouldn't be surprised to see Targett win his place back when he's fit too. Our squad is 6th-10th realistically. On a par with West Ham, Leicester etc. We are punching above our weight atm and the squad overhaul is going to take 2 or 3 seasons3 points

Hope the injury news on Willock, ASM and Miggy isn't bad. Can't afford to be starting Murphy ffs 2 clear of Spurs with a game in hand, let's keep the faith boys. Bruno coming back soon, and Gordon looking good. Worst come to pass and we finish 5th/6th, still a pretty amazing season. Hopefully Spurs continue to be unpredictable shite and we sneak the CL spot. Burn was an absolute shambles today. Real throwback to the days of Babayaro and Boumsong. As somebody said during the game, feel a bit sorry for him too as he's a CB. Teams have now clearly identified that weakness in the side, as well as figuring out how to setup against us. Over to you Eddie.3 points

Aye, this run of “terrible” form has produced no losses. This is an absolute mile away from where we’ve been. I think people need to remember that, if we were to get 5th, it’s still an outrageous success for a side that is undergoing repairs as it’s hurtling at 100MPH. These results are only frustrating because of the insane standards we set prior to the World Cup, we’re in an unreal position and could still win a cup yet3 points

Reminds me a page from an old Dr Seuss book (forget which one exactly) that I've got permanently etched on my brain and think I have memorised to a tee since my first scan of it when reading to one of the kids had me thinking "this cunt is seriously trying hoodwink me into accidentally saying something massively inappropriate to minors." Double whammy of tired players and lack of competition. But aye, of course top 6 would be amazing, but what is hard to take is coming so close and the opportunity lost to make serious progression as a league contender, way ahead of schedule. Rarely will we get a better chance. I don't think it's remotely hyperbolic to point this out as some have suggested. I'll be disappointed with less that fourth, as I was under Robson when we came 5th and for that matter Keegan when we came second.2 points

☝️ This. We're not going down and will finish upper mid table at the very worst, which would have been our pre-season target. Yes, we're exceeding that (currently) and CL would be nice, but it's looking like we currently haven't the squad to sustain the level of performance and even with CL cash, I'm not sure we could create a squad to cope with the additional workloadnext season. Hence, ownership will consider this season a great success (which it is) and stick to plan IMO. My main concern is that in earlier draws we missed some real sitters but we created fuck all yesterday and looked anything but our usual rock solid selves at the back, not to mention conceding from a corner again !! But in the not too distant past, all our draws would have been defeats so I'm not going to complain too much.2 points

Would love to see them fuck up and Man City win the league. What a bunch of entitled wankers they are. It would be the one time that little cunt off Arsenal tv or whatever it’s called would be worth watching2 points

It's obvious oppositions have decided to sit deep against us but at the same time we've turned into a pedestrian team, more concerned with possession stats than what we are actually doing with the ball. Too many hiding, as others have said, maybe they have the cup final at the back of their mind but you cannot just turn form on and off to suit. I also worry that Bruno, although he will be back for the final, won't be match fit and we can't afford that. As for Maxi, he's done. He cannot seem to get his head around what is required to be both part of this team and his natural footballing self. For a man that claims high intelligence, he's extremely dumb. But for LTA's sake, I did enjoy his best moment was the result of combining with Gordon, the irony. They need to get their heads right and quick, it would be our wildest dreams to finally win a cup but the whole season cannot rest on that one game.2 points

Aye, we havent looked like a Champions League team in months. The results of teams around us gives you hope though, it's a tough league. If this is our bad patch and we're still managing to stick onto 4th spot, can't be the worst thing. Its the lack of spark in the final third that is the glaring problem. Bruno the idiot coming back will help. Isak seemed off it today but he always looks like he could explode at any moment. Needs match sharpness imo he hasn't been able to get a good run in the team.2 points
