A continuous flow that relentlessly grinds down its surroundings over years and decades, The Fish studied geography at school10 points

in a nutshell. there's nowt new about their moderators stance in prohibiting discussion about sportswahing or human rights, about 6 months ago I signed up on their cesspit of a messageboard as WearsideAmnesty, I wrote an eloquent post (for me, I even used capitals) applauding their revulsion with regard to abuses in the middle east. I provided links to wearside amnesty international's facebook and twitter pages, links to venues for meetings and times and dates for zoom meetings. I urged them to join with no hint of sarcasm or insincerity. my post never made it for viewing, it sat waiting for moderator approval, then I was banned..... this is the reality of sunderland's outrage on all matters saudi, not 100,000 posts on a football messageboard, a few dozen admirable, caring and well meaning church goers who campaign actively and tirelessly. their work has gained them 75 followers on twitter since 2015, their facebook page celebrates its 14th birthday in febuary has amassed 163 followers since 2009. this is in no way a slight on them, on the contrary, I doff my hat to them. sunderland is an insular, bigoted, fucking hovel. a breeding ground for the bnp, edl or whatever its current guise is. they 'sing what they want' no matter that its in support of paedophilia or the size of a black man's knob. they fool no one other than themselves, the stupid mackem cunts.8 points

Bloke on his deathbed talking to their lass says now he's not got long to live he has to know something, he says he's always noticed one of his five kids looks nothing like the rest of them, he asks if the fifth one had a different father to them? The wife breaks down, years of guilt come to a head and she admits that yes, the fifth had a different father to the rest. 'Who was the father?' the dying man croaked. 'You.' the sobbing woman replied.7 points

The sad truth is that their sole ambition in “taking the moral high ground” is to delegitimise any success we have, so they don’t fall behind in their imaginary competition with us. We know it and they know it and it’s pathetic and laughable, but its all theyve got. They don’t give a shit about Kashoggi, human rights, the war in Yemen, the middle east, the rights of women, the LBGT+ community in Saudi, burning fossil fuels etc. And they never have. If we’d been bought by the Chinese they’d suddenly be experts on the repression of the Uyghurs and Tibet, having previously shown fuck all interest in them. If they didn’t see everything through incredibly bitter, jealous and parochial eyes, they wouldn’t say a single word against the Saudi government, because they’re racist and ignorant as fuck and don’t actually give a shit about any of it. It only matters because its us, how sad. I’d bet your average mackem couldn’t point to Saudi Arabia or the Yemen on a world atlas if their life depended on it.7 points

Have you got the workwear yet? Manky, oily jeans that show your arse and manky t-shirt with manky jumper for winter? Also, have you been informed of the strict hygiene rules as in it being compulsory to never wash and stink of sweat? I think it'll suit you to the ground, MF. Chuffed for you. (You'll also need a 25 year old, never washed, football flag to hang at the back of your cab, don't forget).6 points

I mean I get this totally, and I understand why the thick gammon contingent act like this, but there are actually (inevitably) a fair few sensible mackems on the SMB too. When we were taken over, my question specifically to them was do you seriously think your fans would have acted differently, would have taken the moral highground and boycotted the club etc. I didn't even goad them over the fact that really imo their fans are, shall we say, a bit less culturally refined than most other groups of fans (as evidenced by multiple episodes of blatant racism and being Brexiters etc). I just don't understand how any truthful fan could deny they would act exactly the same if it were them. Anyway, I didn't get a single sensible response from any of them, got loads of predictable abuse, and needless to say won't be posting there again in a hurry. You now get the impression that any reasonable discussion the sensible fan have and they are outed as a "Mag" and hounded from then on. So more reasoned mackems just avoid the thread altogether and it is just an ech chamber for the complete arseholes. I mean, it's really odd as well because we welcome mackems here with open arms.5 points

He'll have to pass the theory test first, the one that calculates how you get past with the 0.05 mph differential JUST as the crawler lane ends on the A15 points

A caller to LBC lifted the lid on this grubby little game this morning…an independent Portsmouth councillor called in to say in the most recent local election sone of the Tory held wards in her constituency went from Tory to Liberal or independent…she’s losing support in her constituency. Now have a guess which wards are getting these “pantries”? …. one of them is Paulsgrove, a giant housing estate that already has two food banks…so she’s doing a lap of honour, getting her book promoted for free and trying to shore up her vote locally whilst looking all benevolent and non Tory, the cynical fuckin cow4 points

Just send me up with them, I'll tune the TV in and shit like that and will keep their sexual needs satisfied without getting them up the stick as I had the snip years ago. Everyone's a winner.4 points

I particularly like the thoughts and video behind "Uptown girl", where a posh lass is molested by a grease-stained MF dressed in oily overalls before he proceeds to do a zuffle on her curtains and puts her in his trailer freezer module. Iirc, ahem. Folllowed by Joel's pleads of being an "innocent man", of course.4 points

If it makes you feel any better, I was eligible to apply for one of the new season tickets, and was about 30,000 away in the queue. I jacked my season ticket in around 2016 after 6 seasons because I couldn't afford it anymore after the bairn was born. The whole tickets situation is fucking mental atm. I don't even bother trying to get one anymore. I remember being at the NUFC v Inter CL game back in 2002 and there were empty seats dotted about and tickets still on general sale. And that's when we had a decent team!3 points

It absolutely was. But they were a very good side. If you think about Italian football back then no fucker was winning Serie A on their own. Careca was absolutely class. Ferrara won about 7 league titles in his career too. Like I was saying, nothing against Maradona. More the stupid hyperbole used to make Messi out to be nowhere near as good on Twitter and the like3 points

After having to endure 'innocent man' on smooth at work on a regular basis in the past I think he's a massive cunt too.3 points

I was seeing loads of 'amnesty' for those who jacked it in when Rafa left as funny enough this was a line for a few of them and indeed there was the 'When Rafa goes I go' campaign at the time wasn't there? Personally I ended my ST at the end of the sports direct arena season and only got it back when Rafa started the championship campaign but left a season before Rafa left as it was beyond any doubt by then that the fat cunt wasn't for changing despite having a genuine professional manager to be able guide him but, unluckily for me, didn't fall into line with the prominent 'when Rafa goes' people with the media voices as I was a year early so didn't get a single thought and also those that did fuck off then would have a better chance. Again, they say they had no say at all but someone made a decision and it must've been based on something? Now I've said before I'm a massive cynic of the ST going back to the first PL season for us which coincided with the move towards making the stadium an all seater. STs weren't the norm and I hate that they are now especially with the loyalty points system, I think back to some iconic NUFC games I'd have missed out on back in the day had something similar been around then but what the disciples of it forget is not everyone can always have a season ticket for multiple reasons. This doesn't mean they aren't fans historically and presently. The twitterati NUFC supafans who are lucky enough to be in the right place, right time with the means and circumstances which means away games are doable and who 'don't like to brag' do my fucking head in. In a sense I think they're massive hypocrites as the very thing they accuse the 'big 6' of, trying to pull up the ladder, they're doing themselves with the ticket situation including away games, and I say this as someone who could now only only go away once in a blue moon if at all so have no selfish interests. Anyway, fuck'em. Happy Christmas!3 points

For the longest time I thought their insanity was confined to the dozen or so people who keep the NUFC thread at the top of the first page. But scanning through some of the other threads there's just varieties of insanity on show throughout. The fetishisation of the hooligan culture of the 80s, the thinly veiled misogyny and bigotry, the revisionism of their distant and near history. There's plenty of examples of chumming up to other fanbases until some link to Newcastle is found, or that team defeats Sunderland. You might think that RTG is just standard for online football communities, but I've been on plenty of message boards for other clubs and honestly, it's only really Everton that really rival it for nonsense.3 points

It’s laudable that you tried to engage in a rational debate, tbh that place just looks and feels like a loony bin to me. The football forum mostly reads like crazy shit to me, the only thing that varies is the volume with which it’s either muttered or screamed by the inmates3 points

Alex CLEARLY drawing comparison between Messi and Pearson which feels entirely appropriate.3 points

A lot of his popularity is with young kids it seems. I.e. the types for whom hanging around the training ground in the summer hols hoping for autographs etc. is age-appropriate, unlike him and some of the other touchers for whom it’s a full-time occupation. When you consider how much the Saudis are willing to pay Messi to promote tourism there (for example) it’s not a lot to pay for his travel and accommodation really. Who knows? Also, I love Messi and have enjoyed watching him since he broke into Barca team as a kid but how the fuck does he get a free pass? All you hear on ITV and BBC is how every neutral would love him to win a World Cup for his legacy. He plays for a team owned by the Qataris whilst having an ambassadorial role with the Saudis.3 points

Are they watching the World Cup? Do they watch the Premier League? It’s not whataboutery it’s the exact same thing NUFC fans are “engaging” in. The argument would then be extent, so a match going fan is more involved than someone watching on TV, sure but at the end of the day they’re the ones turning these things into black and white discussions and therefore it’s a right or wrong thing there’s no middle ground or lesser level of involvement. The whataboutism shite is simply because they don’t want to have an actual discussion they just want to use this whole thing to retake their imaginary moral high ground. They’re welcome to it while they watch their utterly irrelevant poxy little club and we can watch one of the best teams in world football (not yet but future).3 points

His life is so fucking pathetic, its tremendous to see. Tortured by fake injustices and stupid conspiracy theories, and legal jeopardy everywhere he looks. I don't think for a second he'll go to jail or anything, but I think he's done as a mainstream political force and will just live out his days as a sad, heavily medicated sideshow in his shit resort.2 points
