I mean Diego has provided a narrative with some solid reasoning but there is an absolute open goal here for Fish to whip up some Venn diagrams and solid statistics. By 2pm.8 points

Me too! Luckily our lot are completely separate from the state as proved in court.7 points

I'm chuckling at all the posters who genuinely seemed puzzled by our form. 'They've an average squad and haven't spent big money. How did they get so good?' Maybe take a look at the manager in charge of it all, a manager who definitely would not have been deemed good enough to take over at Old Trafford.7 points

I’ve just read that and thought “well if Diego is saying Scotland actually did qualify that’s more than good enough for me!!” 😃 🏴🏴🏴🏴7 points

Diego gets paid to write about football. Some on here would pay The Fish NOT to write about football.6 points

It probably will be more Americans. I am of the strongly held view that oil rich nation states should not be allowed to buy football clubs (anymore).6 points

I'd still like us to sign Maddison because he can play centrally and out on the right. The priority for me is the base of the midfield three though. I want Bruno closer to the business end of the pitch. It's not sexy, but someone in the Tiote mould would be great.6 points

Just was reminded, genuinely lolled last night when the sky presenter read the table after the Spurs v Liverpool game starting off I think with Liverpool in 8th and working up to the fourth side Tottenham, then going from first to second and stopping there. Even though I know he's a mackem I don't think he consciously omitted us or maybe HE DID AND HE'S PART OF THE MACKEMEDIA!?6 points

The amount of shite their fans come out with on twitter you'd think Jeremy Corbyn founded the club Theyre owned by a yank venture capitalist who made his money manipulating financial markets with algorithms and their fans think they're some kind of socialist utopian club. The delusion is absolutely off the scale!5 points

It wasn’t going to be easy to stay up and then it wasn’t going to be easy to break into the top 4. I think you’ll find we will make light work of this league and then Europe will follow. It’s a race between us and the Chinese as to who achieves world dominance first4 points

What fucking model is that then? They’re like one of those medieval towns that had outbreaks of dancing , utterly mental mass-delusion.4 points

I was in there yesterday. from someone who's used to forking out a paltry £6 in the percy for a couple of pints it was a bit of a shock to the system to be charged over £26 for 2 beers and a bottle of koppaburg stuff, although in fairness the pints were the size of a bucket! as for the xg stuff..... I went to yesterday's game in the optimistic frame of mind that we could quite easily score a fair few goals, I'd looked at no charts or graphs beforehand to reach that happy and content state. it just seems to be what we do at the minute!4 points

WC and Europe might fuck things around in our favour. I’d like to see a statistical comparison of % of players at the World Cup for the top ten teams. Correlated with European involvement. On my desk by 2pm.4 points

The player that took a chance on the club when we looked down and out, and cojone shrinkage was a widespread pandemic across players and fans. Would only be right if he's the one to lift the first trophy in ages if and when it comes. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect signing to kick off Howe's project. Attitude, leadership, quality on the ball. Some of his play on Saturday was just brilliant to watch. I agree he's the sort of intelligent player that could play at the top level for a few years years yet, not really dependent on raw pace or power.4 points

Over the course of the last 38 league games under Howe: P 38 W 20 D 9 L 9 GF 56 GA 43 GD +13 PTS 69 In last season's table we'd have finished 5th - level on points and GD with Arsenal but ahead of them by virtue we'd have scored more goals - 56 vs 48.3 points

He was absolutely fuming when they scored. Which is a great thing to see given we were still 3-1 up at that point in the last minute.3 points

Given Almiron's form I think a LW is more of a priority. Murphy wasn't great yesterday, ASM's form hasn't been brilliant when fit and I'd like to see Joelinton back in the centre of the park.3 points

I just get annoyed when people - particularly clueless pundits - completely rule certain teams out just because they’re not historically successful. It happened throughout Leicester’s title-winning season. Man City will probably win it because they have the best squad. I don’t expect us to win the title but we are definitely in the race as things stand. Let’s see what happens in January. We have team spirit, momentum, unity, a brilliant coach and money to spend. We’re also playing with a freedom that comes when you are performing massively ahead of expectations. And we don’t have the European games3 points
