Greatest redemption stories under Howe's time so far: 1. Joelinton 2. Almiron 3. The Fish 4. Schar5 points

Dunt on Braverman. 👏 It feels almost inevitable that these references to other security breaches, made by Cooper and by Dunt in this article, will now come to light. I'd imagine the likes of Crerar will be on the case. This doesn't feel like it's about to go away.5 points

That’s a good point. If I even reveal my level of clearance to someone outside the civil service it’s technically a breach of security. But actions you take when you hold a certain level of clearance which, in effect, change the circumstances potentially impact whether that clearance should be withdrawn. A change in something like your financial circumstances for example. However, if you actually breach the conditions of your clearance and get caught then, as well as disciplinary action your clearance could be deemed null and void. I mean it’s a technicality really, given she’s publicly admitted fucking up before getting sacked and then being reinstated in less than a week4 points

So, those players are playing well because of Howe? Nah, can't be, I read on there that he's shit and only doing well because of the new players. But it can't be that because we're only doing well because of the players that were bought earlier. So those players must be playing better because of Howe? Nah, can't be, I read on there that he's shit and only doing well because of the new players. But it can't be that because we're only doing well because of the players that were bought earlier. So those players must be playing better because of Howe?4 points

Is she genuinely saying Braverman was sacked in a different time? It's was 7 fucking days ago! Cheese has well and truly slid off this one's cracker.4 points

If anything, the fact that everything we've done so far was well within Ashley's ability (top end maybe, but still within it if he was running it properly) actually further underlines how fucking useless the guy was.4 points

It will be way too late for many. Am going to mute political commentary on twitter now, (will keep a neb in here) but these fuckers aren't going away for next 2 years, being in a constant rage will do me in before that at this rate, have enough stress/anxiety in my life without spending time working out how I'd like these cunts to die.4 points

Double digit cuts on every department off the back of 12 years of cuts. Are they fucking serious. Tax corporations, you fucks. Raise the money that way and then invest it back into the economy, boosting public sector spending, raising growth, and then tax everyone (in a proportionally fair way) to a higher level to pay off the debt. That way we're leaving our children with an economy that has some chance of delivering a better life to them whilst at the same time paying off national debt over the long term - rather than failing to pay off national debt through austerity since it leaves us completely defenceless against things like Covid and externalities we can't control, and on top of that means our children are inheriting a smoking ruin rather than a nation. In other words, do what Truss was going to do but a) funded through taxes on (corporations) those who can afford it and b) give the proceeds of that to the people of this country so that WE can spend and WE can bolster growth, not your fucking mates who will just offshore the lot of it anyway. Oh and one other thing, small point really but every little helps and I know how keen you are to "give back to the country that gave you so much" - REJOIN THE FUCKING EU.4 points

So long as the ball continues to end up in the opposition net, I really don't give a fuck whether it goes down the left or right channel. What is irrefutable is Almiron's form and in particular, his finishing has vastly improved. Whether that is because the right channel has seen more of the ball because ASM has been out injured is about as subjective an argument we can get. I'll say this much, the right channel has been seriously effective these last few weeks. If the return of ASM finds ourselves treated to the antics of him running in circles, taking on the same player 2-3 times, a loss of possession and him hitting the ground looking for a foul that's never coming at the detriment of the right-channel effectiveness, I shalln't be impressed.4 points
-
Anyone with working eyes will know that when we're trying to hit teams on the counter the first thing our players look for is a ball to ASM. In his absence Murphy doesn't perform the same function as often and the players rightly don't have the same confidence in him doing as much with the ball as ASM. I'm #TeamFish4 points

It shouldn't really need to be said but the myriad of offences committed by Johnson and all of his appointees would lead to being sacked and prohibited from working in the same industry/business in the vast majority of other workplaces.3 points

I think there could be further shit on Braverman in the Sunday papers. It will look fuckin appalling for Sunak and the tories in general if she has to leave cabinet twice in a month. Good. He & they appear to have learned nothing .3 points

They aren’t that clever. They’d be pushing through stuff like this with little coverage anyway.3 points

Listened to radio Newcastle's phone in driving home, one mackem texted in he was disappointed with how many fans fucked it off towards the end of their game with Burnley, Gabbiadini's take on this, (I'm paraphrasing), 'I was saying to my son, Sunderland just have one of those grounds where there's exits everywhere and it's really quick and easy to get out, unfortunately when a few leave early it's so near for everyone else that it's like the pied Piper effect and everyone starts joining in.' so basically they need to barrier off half the exits next time they turn a 2-0 lead into a 4-2 defeat at home in the 2nd Division and that should sort it.3 points

Agreed, if double-digit cuts do become a reality then all hell will break loose on a scale greater than the response to Trussnomics. Just reading that Dunt article, particularly with regards to involving John Hayes and mistakenly sending it to an MP's assistant rather than Hayes's wife. So she was caught because she sent it to someone internally who blew the whistle, rather than leaking it to a member of the public? That's not incompetence, it's gross misconduct! She shouldn't be anywhere near a cabinet position ever again. The ERG have far too much power in number 10.3 points

That’s a good start like Renton was saying Braverman’s a fucking froot loop ideologue. She seems to think she’s on some sort of mission for whatever demon is possessing her pea brain. She will absolutely kick off at some point unless she’s allowed to start shovelling baby immigrants into the channel. She hates her own ethnic group3 points

1. The girl doing the quiz was a former competitor in big brother 2015 apparently. A half Sri Lankan Dundonian called Sam Kay https://instagram.com/samkay_fitness?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= 2. Gazza staggered into the bar half way through the quiz. I didn’t touch his cock this time. He saw some lads who looked as if they might be able to get him some ching and disappeared with them. 3. We won the quiz due to getting 23/24 in the music round which was exclusively answered by our next door neighbour Laura who has two degrees (Film and Nursing) and PE teacher/LTA employee Michelle. This was made an even greater achievement by the fact that said aforementioned X factor bird sang the songs that we had get the title and performer(s) for and only a few bars at that We’re going again next week, if we win I’ll be doing a thread that I will update every Wednesday morning3 points

In line with this, whilst it would be obviously hilarious on one level, I think a huge (possibly well over 300 according to recent polling) majority for Labour is a bad thing in terms of any electoral reform. Indeed it would just perpetuate the status quo and probably land us back with the Tories in two or three terms. At this point I think a lot of us recognise PR is the only hope we have of at least beginning to get the reforms we need.3 points

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/oct/26/rishi-sunak-britain-general-election-protest Really good article by Monbiot as usual. "After 12 years of Conservative austerity and chaos, the very rich have taken almost everything. They have even captured virtue. They now appropriate the outward signs of an ethical life while continuing – despite or because of their organic cotton jackets and second homes, their electric cars and pasture-fed meat, their carbon offsets and ayahuasca retreats, philanthropy and holidays in quiet resorts whose palm-thatched cabins mimic the vernacular of the people evicted to make way for them – to grasp the lion’s share of everything... ...In other words, it’s not just a general election we need, it’s a complete rethink of who we are and where we stand. It’s not just proportional representation we need, but radical devolution to the lowest possible levels at which decisions can be made, accompanied by deliberative, participatory democracy. It’s not just new lobbying laws we require, but a comprehensive programme to get the money out of politics, ending all private political donations, breaking up the billionaire press and demanding full financial transparency for everyone in public life. We should seek not only the repeal of repressive legislation, but – as civil disobedience is the bedrock of democracy – positive rights to protest. All this now feels far away. Jeremy Corbyn offered some (though by no means all) of these reforms. Keir Starmer offers none. Though Labour MPs voted against the public order bill, his only public comment so far has been to endorse its headline policy: longer sentences for people who glue themselves to roads. But if the Labour party or its future coalition partners can persuade him to agree to just one aspect of this programme, proportional representation, we can start work on the rest, building the political alliances that could transform the life of this nation. Without PR, we’re stuck with a dysfunctional duopoly, in hock to the billionaire press and the millionaires it appoints to govern us. We cannot carry on like this."3 points

It's awful when someone rambles, wittering on around the topic, stretching their loquaciousness ad infinitum, endlessly droning on, interminably continuing to talk, with verbose, longwinded, voluble, garrulous answers that go nowhere.3 points

Sorry to double quote you but this article actually does give me a bit of hope. The scale of the betrayal of older generations of the younger that is clear within this is at some point in the hopefully very near future, surely, going to result in not just a swing to Labour for a single election victory, but a full scale swing back towards internationalism and collective engagement. It seems our lot in life is to endure this so our children may repair it, but this fully demonstrates the extent to which we have just walked into the mother of all national dead ends. It can't last, there will be some manner of reckoning in the end. The only shame will be that those who induced it won't live to see it.2 points

Yep, this is the crux of the matter. Johnson made them all sign a brexity pledge and any who didn't acquiesce were expelled. So this meant that there was nobody left with both the qualities of competence and integrity. Then Johnson normalised lying, corruption, and the defilement of the contry's institutions. Once we were set on this path the rest was inevitable. But shortly its payback time. Fortunately, Labour have retained competence and decency on their front bench and it is clear to anybody who chooses to look. I wish they were more daring, more passionate, and more committed to the country than their party, but they are a different league to the these rotten tory cunts.2 points

Starting bid of £100m to even get us to answer the phone. I was listening to one of the Athletic podcasts the other day, and they were saying that there have been inquests taking place at other PL clubs (Liverpool in particular) about quite how their scouting teams have failed to identify Bruno as a primary target.
