  1. Two things: Firstly if Pearson pushed past you it's because you were standing in the way of top flight content. Secondly the apple didn't fall far from the tree judging by your grandson's ability to spot a good player.

  2. Cheers Lads Aye I am epileptic from birth. Its only really brought on by stress and tiredness really. I am on meds. Try and limit my alcohol intake and late nights, but as I enjoy wearing lycra and bumming thats easy as I am usually up early to ride. I have been fine for years. I was conscious during this one as it was an absence seizure so hopefully it's not a revoke, or it will be a 6 months at most. Which is easy tbh as I don't drive that much.

  3. Cracking day out all things considered. Only got the one pint as the grandson wanted to go player spotting as they arrived. Not only is he a massive Jacob Murphy fan, but it also turns out he’s a massive Adam Pearson fan. Much to the despair of myself and his Dad, Adam gladly supplied his autograph and posed for pictures. In the ground 90 minutes before kick off but at least Murphy came good and the grandkid had a superb birthday. Today we were seated in the far leazes corner / under the east stand and I must admit the atmosphere and position was brilliant. Must admit I was gutted that ASM and Joelinton didn’t start but it’s hard to moan when it works out. Part of me loves that Eddie is loyal to a winning side, but another part of me thinks it’s a bit naive. Do other top managers leave out their “best” players just because the average player has done ok? Maybe they do and as you know I don’t claim to be any sort of football brain Hard to argue when you get the right result. I also thought we seemed to give the ball away a lot more than we usually do in the first half. Metros off so had to get off at Heworth and their disallowed goal cost me £100 on my 5-2 bet Anyway, great day out and E-I- E-I-E-I-O

  5. 9 games, and the only one we've lost so far was to a 98th minute spawny goal by the Scouse cheats. Looks like our form for the 2nd half of last season wasn't a fluke

  13. I think I said my response to that first bit at the time - that in my eyes that piece of paper which dictated which countries we would respond over and which we wouldn't was nothing more than an excuse in the face of what is really a direct attack on Western liberalism and our values. This isn't just Ukraine's war although they're the only ones paying for it in blood. Putin is the enemy of the entire West and has been for fucking years. He's funded all the chaos we've had to live through, he's funded right wing lunatics the world over, he fundamentally believes in a fascist, authoritarian style of government - and has whittled away at our institutions and structures in order to weaken us in the face of his imperialism. The war was already raging, he just thought he'd done enough to take us out of the game. While Ukraine's bravery and defiance of him in this will not have been expected, neither will the collective respond of the West that he had thought to be wounded and broken. So yes, I do believe that we should be in there fighting him back in defence of any country that shares our values and asks for help. Bits of paper be damned. If Putin falls here we have won a much bigger war than just the battle for Ukraine's standing as a sovereign nation - it will be a great triumph of Western liberalism, proof that interdependency and internationalism work. Ukraine is paying a great price for this, fighting alone.

  14. I prefer to think of myself as considerate actually, I don't like to upset his post stroke autistic routines. nowt whatsoever to do with my penchant for half a dozen pints in the percy.

  16. Sounds excellent CT, glad you both enjoyed it. I think Eddie sticking with players that have come in and done well is a good thing for team morale. It means that there's no heirarchy, no one thinks they're second best and everyone has the opportunity to cement their place in the team. For all I don't have much faith in Murphy, I'm happy for the lad to get his chance if he's doing well and proving me wrong. He puts the effort in, I just think he either lacks confidence in the final 3rd, sometimes doesn't make the right choices either. He definitely has skill on the ball but I prefer the likes of Fraser as he's direct and isn't afraid of going for it. I can only hope that this gives us loads of confidence to turn Man Utd over, couldnt be a better time to play them.

  20. Pfft commentator suggesting this evens out for the Crystal Palace call. What a joke, a right call doesn't cancel out an incorrect one in any scenario.

  22. Had a fucking wicked time in Boston and then drive up to Burlington and Vermont. Then on the flight back decided I was going to create drama and have a fucking seizure FFS. I felt tired a lot of the holiday and I thought I may have the 'vid. Tested a couple of times both negative. There was a slight delay on the way back and I think the stress combined with jet leg just took its toll on me. My wife and I had a bit of a battle with the pilot and head steward to make them carry on the journey and not land in Canada. Thankfully it was a mild seizure and they agreed. Wiped me out though for the whole day and combined with jet lag screwed me. I have had to revoke my license now until I see my consultant. Thankfully my wifes work covers me medically and I have an appointment on Monday so fingers crossed.

  23. Grim tbh. Only tit I’ve seen today tried pushing into the front when the grandson was hoping to meet his favourite player, Jacob Murphy.

  24. Bugger that. It’s the grandsons birthday (8) and while my two daughters and his father have all gone for a pizza, I was nominated to “run” to the Trent to secure his “favourite” table Fucking blowing hard.

  26. With Bruce getting some coverage it just makes me laugh even more seeing Howe's press conferences and marrying them up with the reality on the pitch which only tells you he's patently a competent manager at the very least when you compare the horror show of Bruce's football and the verbal shit sandwich with extra diarrhoea sauce that he'd come out with at his press interviews. The petulance alone at people questioning the reality of his football is a relief to behold now he's doing it somewhere else instead of here.
