She could have hardly wished for a better time to do this like. Edit: piece of piss for her, Paul Scully however hoofed all over. Fuck her though, apparently she is now a MLF.8 points

"He's a canny kid, ah lap him up really and he always sticks up for the toon on sky but he's playing with fire here, like. If ah say he's going to play then you don't poke the tiger with a stick by saying ahm talking shite. There's a couple of lanes in the toon and Downie needs to get into his fucking sharpish if he knows what's good for him."7 points

lad from North Shields made good = lad from South Shields who used to be a MLF. Lass from Washington made good who used to go and watch NUFC and has never claimed to be a Sunderland supporter = MLF. Or something3 points

It was, of course, what Craig said. For five years, no less https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/world-news/former-northern-ireland-footballer-who-lived-in-guam-hopes-for-a-peaceful-solution-to-crisis-36020264.html Though it's no wonder they're not much of a force on the world football scene if this is their squad...3 points

Aye. I remember getting into football about 81/82. I.e. being properly excited by it. But it was limited in terms of what you saw on tv to the odd England international, motd, the cup final, European cup final, stuff like that. Seeing that French side and Brazil’s team in 82 was like watching a different sport. England beat them in ‘82 in the group stage too. That was a canny decent England team in retrospect. Went home without losing a match2 points

What a player Tigana was. Seeing Tirana Giresse and Platini was like watching aliens from another planet compared to what we were told was good. Punditry those days was on a level of they don't like it up em2 points

Yes, not that I'm aware (although she had a suitor), and yes, you did. She was a young lass studying at Oxford when she posted, deleted her account post haste when it was too risky being associated with us retrobates. Still some remnants if you look hard enough.2 points

Hang on, they've wildly jumped to a conclusion that puts Sunderland in a good light? I'm going to have to lie down.2 points

Apparently Americans are going mental because Lizzo played James Maddison’s flute. I want us to sign him even more now.2 points

What gives? I don't see a cleverly worded, heavily profanity laced, self-deprecating match thread title anywhere.1 point

I loved him as a player. I remember really looking forward to that tournament and seeing him and France off the back of Espana ‘82. He didn’t disappoint. Iirc he was the top scorer in Serie A three years running, playing for Juve, around that time. I know he took free kicks and pens but that’s pretty amazing for an attacking midfielder/ no. 10.1 point

I think this part is really important. ASM starts against Liverpool, Palace and Bournemouth, I think we get between 5 and 7 pts, which would have us 4th. I'm fully expecting us to go on a run of form where we string together a few wins and some good performances. Isak will be important when he settles a bit, but that task has been made more difficult by us missing key players in his early games. Him and ASM should cause defenders no end of bother and even if neither of them score, they'll create spaces and opportunities for others to get in on the act.1 point

we've put in some v good performances so far, particularly against the bigger teams who try to play on the front foot. our lack of depth was exposed when key players were injured and we were asked to break down bournemouth's a deep lying defence. we don't yet have the quality to brerak down the well drilled "low block" - at least, not when missing some of our better attacking players. shame decisions and results haven't gone our way. feels like we should have at least 3-5 more points than we do, but it's also clear we're a work in progress and this season will be a transitional one unless we go nuts in the january window. an 8-12th finish is looking more likely than top 6 at this stage. nothing wrong with the former btw. it won't happen overnight1 point

Oh cool, these look great. If the price is right I might even look into getting on myself. Weird seeing ThorpyFx pedals in regular looking enclosures though. That's all I've got for now. I'll probably have more to say when I shake this hangover Edit: Holy fuck they're expensive. I'd hope at that price they had subminiature valves but looking over their website I'd doubt it. Also a little surprised to see they run on 9V (I'm guessing they have a chargepump in there to internally double the voltage) which probably means there's no tubes in there and they've went the old-school way and just used silicon transistors in a arrangement like the Fetzer Valve circuit. I'm a bit skeptical now. No doubt they'll sound good, wouldn't expect Victory or Thorpy to put their name to junk, but I can't see how they'll be anything more than just a solid-state approximation of the amps they're being marketed as. Also would be liked to have seen the Anderson's guys show them being pushed by a boost or a Tubescreamer to see if they respond more like a tube pre-amp amp or just another distortion pedal (maybe they did, I didn't watch the whole thing). I'd give it a month and these will be traced and cloned all over the place.1 point

So the plan appears to.be to just repeatedly claim that this is a global problem and the govt is doing everything it can to make people's lives easier. Pure gaslighting basically. Honestly, I'm not even convinced it won't eventually work. I still don't know that it saves them, cos if you fuck people, they're still fucked whatever the reasons you claim for it. It's the lies though. I fucking despise these people. I hope horrible shit happens to them and all their families.1 point
