"Also we have logistical capabilities that haven't moved on from the cold war, rations from around that period too, and your commanding officers were all promoted to the levels they have been through nepotism and ass kissing rather than merit. We also have a mobile furnace to incinerate you with when you inevitably get killed."4 points

I wouldn't want to get called up like "Here comrade, take this rifle from WW2 and do your country proud, watch out for those Javelin missiles btw & if you run the wrong way we'll shoot you!"4 points

If they get PR, they’ve won. Not just in the short term but pretty much for the foreseeable. They’d probably gain votes they currently lose by not having a chance in a particular constituency. More importantly though the Lib Dems would have something in the order of 10-15% of the seats in the HoC. Or 65-100-ish. Not just a marked improvement on now but also a meaningful place in any future government4 points

Coming up with a mental list of Toontastic's cringiest moments there before. Remember the day after the EU Referendum when CT posted a video of him in his garden with the Black Eyed Peas "Where is the love?" playing, and he mimed the full thing. All parts. I think it was supposed to heal the board but iirc it only served to deepen divisions.4 points

Good luck to him and all that but, based on the little I’ve seen, his ‘content’ is fucking dross3 points

Yeh. It's all ultimately pointless as a conflict. It's a deflection to sustain his kleptocracy. What an absolute prick the man is. The TV propaganda has gone in to overdrive calling Britain "the root of all evil" etc etc. Once again he's on TV talking about Nukes. That doesn't end well for anybody so what's the point? We should get a bank holiday when someone puts a bullet in the cunt.3 points

My lass's school has a young Ukrainian kid that's started this year. Refugee, doesn't speak a word of English. He was not engaging the other day and when they got to the bottom of it it's because his dad has been called back to Ukraine to fight. I hope this all ends terribly for Putin, the absolute fucking shit bag.3 points

Remember watching that in a bar in Blanes in the costa brava with my dad and uncle. I jumped up to celebrate before being told by my dad to take it easy. The place was absolutely heaving with ze Germans3 points

Truss has read the room well. The woman is a moron. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/sep/20/liz-truss-urges-world-leaders-to-follow-uk-with-trickle-down-economics3 points

It was Bayern though. You were as likely to get a free beer as a punch in the face.2 points

I like the way that post is suggesting that's it's better to be 5th in the championship than 10th in the premiership. Any normal set of fans would be happy to have had their start this season rather than dragging up a tweet from a year ago. Strange bunch never does cover it with them does it?2 points

As you know I fully share this concern but if that bit about PR is true then IMO he can do whatever the fuck he likes. That whole term, if it does nothing else, will have been worth it for the ability to finally put the Tories to the sword once and for all.2 points

Yeah. Ironically this is a good thing. For the reasons you mention and the general lowering of standards it would entail. It’s more that it’s another ‘Brexit benefit’ that can’t be delivered. Re: the lack of honesty, Labour seem to be just sitting on their hands and letting the Tories implode. It’s working I suppose but it’s depressing as fuck given what could and should be exposed in terms of hard truths. Particularly around the economic malaise due to Brexit2 points

Team Waugh! Boy George didn't like him having it did he the fucking ponce!2 points

I’m still gobsmacked by the ruling that Nirvana got away with such a blatant rip off of 80s by Killing Joke and it was even dismissed in court. Yeah Jazz might be a head case but Geordie’s guitar work in Killing Joke has been ground breaking.2 points

Long story short, they ripped off half a dozen Wire songs. When challenged Justine claimed she had never heard of Wire and was countered with "you personally named them as your biggest influence on the liner notes of your album". Stranglers (and others) also went after them over the waking up riff being lifted from No More Heroes. I do have a little sympathy for Justine, there's only 12 notes in the scale and smack probably blues the lines a bit.2 points

"Y'knaa what it is, yi take the kid under your wings, show'im the ropes, rub his nose in the shit till he knaas the Geordie roar and then once he flies the nest he comes oot with this shite? Next time he pops his heed in Thomma hoose ahm ganna have a word in the real office and have his heed doon the bog, sort of flush some sense into him! Lol. NUFC reporters, man. Plenty of imitations but there's only one real McCoy. Laters, Ryder and fucking out."2 points

Waugh reckons the VAR decision v Bournemouth shouldn't have been a penalty. At this stage, The Athletic probably needs to sack him.1 point

Had a Spurs fan on Sunday night suggest Howe had been 'found out' and was no better than Bruce. Wasn't keen for me to highlight it was typical Spurs behaviour and that's why they sack managers every 5 minutes.1 point
