  2. Fucking hell, we've had a busy morning in here considering that we signed nobody "3 new pages, fucking hell, guaranteed we've landed someon--oh wait no, we're arguing about the success of the still open transfer window. Ah CT's in there. Yep. That'll do it."

  3. Typical CT luck the minute he has a meltdown the club instantly decides to prove him specatuclarly wrong again

  4. Blimey, looks like CT lit a fire under Ashworrh and panicked him into action

  5. If only CT had moaned about how damaging and absurd Brexit was likely to be.

  6. I was just about to post an angry rant after I woke up, saw 4 fresh pages in this thread, and assumed for sure we’d signed someone. Then I saw it was 3.5 pages of arguing with an idiot. Good thing there was a sting in the tail or you’d all be for it.

  8. I bet you were an expert at those "joint the dots" puzzles as a kid. "It's an elephant!" "Polar, you can't just draw a trunk on the horsey because you like elephants." "Diaby is signing next week!" "Eat your pizza."

  9. Never heard of him, he's fucking AMAZING, get it done or this window has been a catastrophic DISASTER!!!!!!

  12. Fucking hell it's happening. Diego wins the Internet. Are we just gonna delete The Fish's account or something?

  13. I should add a caveat to my earlier comment. Debating the quality of the window over a week before it's over is even more pointless than me posting every transfer rumour going, and far less entertaining 😂👍

  14. Lads man, let's all be nice to one another. We all want the same thing, it's just that some of us are more prone to wild mood swings than others.

  15. More want than need with the latter, surely. I do get where you’re coming from but I was about to more or less post the same as Gemmill re the window not being closed. A lot of things happen near the end of the window too when a big deal leads to another etc. Plus clubs want a replacement lined up before selling goal scorers. Even if we didn’t get anyone else though we’re still light years ahead of where we were pre-takeover. It hasn’t even been a year yet

  16. I’m a massive fan of how we’ve clearly took one look at the league’s better teams faltering and, coupled with Sunday’s performance, have just decided to go flat out for Europe this year, fuck everything else. 60 million quid strikers, we’ll have Paqueta from under West Ham as well, we’ll take the fucking lot

  17. We've probably watched other clubs just absolutely pretending that FFP isn't even a thing and Ashworth's gone "REET. FUCK THIS! EDDIE PASS THE CHEQUEBOOK SON."

  18. And just like with the acquisition of Nick Pope, and the final stages of the Botman pursuit, it's come completely out of leftfield - not been reported by a single journo for weeks. Marvellous stuff, I love the way this club are conducting business.

  19. It's all about getting the right type of player for positions we need with the right trajectory in their career and the right attitude. I'd love it if we get them in the time left but after the shit of Ashley's long era I'm happy to miss out rather than getting lumbered with some knacker on a long term contract who you're ultimately stuck with taking up a space in the squad, contributing fuck all and swallowing a wage up. I'm hoping, confidently, that the people driving the transfer targets are no mugs to put it mildly. Softly softly catchy monkey, lads.

  20. CT, one to sing when you're doing the hoovering tomorrow.

  21. Dunno why but seeing West Ham linked with Paquetta (even though it sounds like they’re lowballing) has taken some of the gloss off the Isak news. Never seen the lad play mind but I really want us to sign him for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

  24. Let's see. Let's go by parts. The first thing I have to say is that the fee seems very high. But I already commented in its day, when it sounded for 40-45 million, that for that price the Real Sociedad would never sell it. I think I made a post back in the day telling a bit about the player. He is not my favorite if we want to ensure immediate performance, but I do think he is a great signing. He is a very different player than Wilson. He is very good with the ball at his feet, he moves very well on the wing (left). He is capable of generating chances on his own even though he is outnumbered... He is good in aereal plays. On the other hand, I think he is still a bit to develop. He has many conditions, but he doesn't know how to use them all. And I think that also, when he manages to adapt all this, he will also be a very good scorer. Because, today, he is not a top scorer. To this day, he has been a streak forward. He had some very good months in the Netherlands, and at Real Sociedad he has been irregular. In fact, last year he and Sorloth were the worst pairing of strikers in Spain and the strikers who missed the most chances. In my opinion, we should not judge him from the first day for bad. Although the first year he scored only 5 or 6 goals (I think he just scored 6 goals this last year). He is a boy who is 22 years old and has already played 5 in the elite. He has something. But he has to make that leap. I sincerely hope he doesn't start from day one just because of his high price tag. I have no doubt that's not going to happen, because we saw that it didn't happen with Bruno, and it wouldn't have happened with Botman if Targett was healthy. So I hope that he is in the shadow of Wilson and little by little he can find his place. Without a doubt, he is a very good bet for the future. And I think that his style of play can also greatly enhance the second line and players like St. maximin, Bruno and Almirón.

  31. Who would have thought 12 months ago we would be benching Joelinton because we wanted to rest one of the better Premier League players and then we wanted him to come on to dish out a bit of retribution. Crazy times

  32. Howling laughing at them doing Krafth and immediately getting undone by his replacement Of all the players to knacker, you’d do the one who’d be replaced by KEIRAN TRIPPIER, like

  33. I was stuck in a traffic jam on the way home so had a quick look in here - handbrake on, engine off, don't @ me it was all perfectly safe. Anyway I pressed play on this and the fucking traffic started moving so I dropped my phone back on the passenger seat. Phone is plugged in to the car so I had to listen to that 2 second clip on a loop for easily the next 90 seconds until we stopped again. Was driving along giggling to myself. If anything it's just made me a bigger Pearson fan.

  34. You would think Gallagher on loan puts an end to Paqueta on a permanent but Edwards is about as plugged in as Stevie Wonder’s night light so I’m just disregarding it

  41. Alex is right about a slow build, as frustrating as it might be at times. Rebuilding a football club is a lot like CT trying to get in shape: he can opt for overnight results with fad diets or steroids but it isn’t sustainable and after a year or so he will be back to square one. Much better to go the slow build over time, done in the right way. It’s becoming a cliche but “trust the process”
