Even our fans were moaning about the trains. Unfortunately we are the mercy of one of the most incompetent train operators in Southern. When I used to use them I'd hang back, have a beer or two then saunter down straight onto a train back to Brighton. Now I get a door-to-door coach to one of my favourite micropubs in Hove. I'm usually supping at 10 to 6 on a 3pm ko. As regards the match I thoroughly enjoyed it for a 0-0.i thought the Albion should have taken all 3 points but I get that you will be annoyed at the scratching off of your 'goal'. I put that down to the new 'higher threshold' nonsense instructed to referees. I didn't see much in it to be honest (after seeing it on MotD) A decent contest but United still aren't the finished article by a long chalk and it shows (not in a really bad way, just that we know what's coming) I'm happy with our progress, we play some lovely stuff at times - a real joy to watch. I don't think we missed the to big sales either. Things are looking good for us. Still dreaming of trips to Germany, Spain or Italy without the missus 🤣 All the best for the rest of the season5 points

looks a canny prospect. I reckon we should offer £35m for him and if that fails up to £40m with a few add ons.4 points

These verbal offers. I reckon Ashworth is legless in the house just ringing around. "THIRTY MILLION FINAL OFFER FUCK OFF!"3 points

Gerrard is under a lot of pressure now. Just had a quick look at their forums. They are calling for his head and want Pochettino to replace him. As if Poch would go there.3 points

Bazball is going to be completely unsustainable in test cricket over the long term. There are times when what you need is a full day of attritional, dull, defensive knocks. I’m livid that this game was over in 2 days.3 points

Essembee is craig. Thought we all knew that?3 points

I remain completely confident that we possibly may or may not buy Paquetta before the deadline or some other time. In other words I'm going to wait and see and trust those closer to the club to make decisions in the best interests of the club. Probably 🙂3 points

I cannot believe people are upset. We have signed an improved keeper and a major upgrade at centre back which has longevity. The left back position is also a bonus. Looking back to January, we signed Trippier, Burn and Bruno. Last summer we went the full way to sign Willock. What is sad is that was actually quite a successful window all things considered. I wish people would stop and have a think. We are not in the Chapions League, we are not in Europe at all. We have a cap due to FFP. We have no recent history of success and we lost out to PSG on the striker who looked set to sign. If I was a young French player, am I going to want to go to NUFC as it is now or go to PSG and learn from the calibre of player they have now? I think (some) need a bit of perspective. We are not at the level of Manchester City and they couldn't sign Kane. It wasn't that much more to get there man last summer but the difference wasn't right for them. I don't think us stepping back from deals due to the financial situation will or should change as we move on to higher levels of success (I think we will pay more in the future but this will match the standard of player). I want us to be sensible with our money not end up like Everton.3 points

I almost want TGQ back for 5 minutes just to revisit his thoughts on Gerrard and Howe from back then2 points

The money he's spent and the wage bill he's running up as well. And to think we were all told that Villa had burst our bubble when they got Gerrard. I was listening to the Athletic Podcast recently and they were saying that Gerrard relies heavily on his assistant for tactics and coaching and sees himself as more of a figurehead (which btw is off the charts arrogant). Anyway his very highly rated assistant left to join QPR so Villa basically have the same "figurehead" but the bloke doing the tactics and training is the ex Blackpool manager.....so basically their actual manager is Blackpool's old manager. He's taking the piss. And he's clearly not the figurehead he thinks he is. They're in too deep to get rid of him in a hurry though, which is fucking hilarious.2 points

Edwards isn’t cynical, he’s a total wind up merchant. He wasn’t cynical about his fat mate when he was managing us, I notice2 points

Watched the second half of the first half of Everton and forest. 0-0 at HT and forest the better of the two teams. Everton look shit and I just wish we'd get to play them more often on a Saturday afternoon instead of midweek as every time I've watched them on an afternoon it's either like a library or it's beeeewwww city. No coincidence our last two wins down there have been Saturday afternoon games.2 points

Something I’ve noticed about Gerrard is he’s more than happy to throw his players under the bus when things aren’t going well.1 point

I don't even know what Villa fans thought they were getting with Gerrard. He's a 'Liverpool of decades past' tribute act based on who he bought for them - no one particularly decent and plenty quite old. That said mind, that's entirely the sort of club Villa set themselves up to be. They're a club of wannabes and for all they might level that at us as well, we at least had a period of relative dominance in the Premier League whereas they have always, always been an makeweight. No club of Villa's stature ever becomes good through buying the way they have - they're a poor man's Man Utd. Sit down and shut up, Gerrard's level is your level, Villa.1 point

Aye, totally. I just was trying to say they basically chased down ODI targets because they were effectively playing with a ball that behaved more like a white ball. So loads has been made of the change in mentality while that’s hardly been mentioned as a major factor1 point

yes, Laporte was injured for the last few games of last season but we had no one else. those injuries nearly cost use the title and probably did cost us the champions league semi final. soon as the season was done they operated. he's running on grass again now so shouldn't be too long. Ake is 4th choice but is seizing his chance. to be fair he's pretty quick but if he has a worthwhile weakness Howe will know it.1 point

What's people's view on Haaland? I reckon he's the nearest the Premier League has seen to Alan Shearer. And he's clearly got the pace of the pre-1993 Shearer as well. Real deal for me, and at £51m he's an absolute steal.1 point

Tell you what, 'Funtime Frankie' is a right fucking mess isn't he, and arguable much worse off than he was at the back end of last season. He won't be able to claim it's anything to do with the squad he inherited either given he'll have been through 2 transfer windows. They've signed Tarkowski, Vinagre, McNeil, Coady & Onana. Outgoing it's been Kenny, Richarlison, Tosun (thank fuck we never got him!), Delph & Sigurdsson. Injury-wise Townsend, Godfrey, Mina, Calvert-Lewin & Doucoure all have decent spells out. They might be building themselves a shiny new stadium, but it's going to offer them fuck all when they kick off there in the Championship.1 point
