For want of a better phrase, Man City are not the team we're doing battle with this season. Avoid injuries and red-cards, have some decent ball retention and keep the score line fairly respectable (below 3-0) and we shouldn't be too disheartened.

We were second best at Brighton but hung in there despite having an off day. I'd go 0-2 like Wykiki or worse and I'm relatively relaxed about this season. Gallagher would be a very decent signing if we're actually after him. Whether he's what we desperately need is another question, but Shelvey's injury does make him more of a priority than he would have been. He's only 22, plenty of potential, can play multiple centre mid roles, and managed 8 goals and 3 assists in a bang average Crystal Palace side with Vieira chopping and changing his position from attacking to defensive mid.
