I think Tuchel went for the rugby player's handshake there where you try and crush someone's hand to show nails you are. The way Conte reacted seemed like Tuchel was acting the cunt. Dressed like a paedo as usual too.7 points

Targett - impressed at the club on loan, Howe knows him and that he can do a job and signing him at the end of his loan period for the price we got him for was a no brained. Pope - timing was right because of Burnley relegation, price was a steal Botman - this was their main defensive target. Burn was a stop gap who is the wrong side of 30. We get him now or we might never get him. None of those signings are questionable. They all make perfect sense. The problem is that we need to strengthen all over the pitch. The order that you do it in is largely irrelevant but the inescapable fact is that it's gonna take time. We'll get some attacking players in, I'm sure. We just can't have everything immediately.6 points

It’s refreshing to see two managers in the Premier League absolutely hate each other. Too much of this ‘respect’ bollocks these days.5 points

Manchester United were the biggest beneficiaries of the financial explosion is English football in the 1990’s. Yes, Ferguson was a fantastic manager but certainly some of the titles they won can be attributed to the massive financial advantage they had over their rivals. And it’s that same financial success that has left them open to exploitation by a group of dodgy Americans who know nothing about football. It has allowed them to take over one of the biggest football clubs in the world with zero risk of losing their own money and has also made it too expensive for anyone else to realistically buy the club from them. TLDR: Live by the sword, die by the sword.4 points

Big Ron was the manager at Sheff wed when I played my first season there, 97 I think. We played our matches at the training ground and occasionally the first team would be there if they didn’t have a game. He would take training in them cotton shorts from the 60’s that went past your knee and all his gold jewellery on. He sometimes came to watch the kids teams play, there was two pitches side by side so he could stand in the middle and watch both games. He would keep the shorts and gold on, but put a fir coat on and flirt with the mams.4 points

foolishly stepping up to the plate here for what is likely to be a losing match thread starter for whoever sets the ball rolling! it's hard to be anything other than delighted with 4 points and 4th in table after our 2 games but despite this yesterday's almost total lack of any meaningful supply to wilson is a concern. can see an apprehensive atmosphere next weekend which could quickly go flat if man city start handing out their usual mauling. desperately hoping we make a breakthrough in the transfer window in the next few days, otherwise I think I'd be happy for us just to keep the scoreline to under 33 points

Rafa was the first one to play 451 or 541 against city and got roasted by the twats at sky. Nearly everyone does it now3 points

Willock, ASM and Almiron are meant to be the players providing chances for Wilson, and they are all failing miserably. That's not a blip in form, all 3 have flattered to deceive since Howe came to the club. A blind man on a galloping horse could see that CF, LW, RW, CAM were the positions we needed upgrades in, so it's questionable that we dropped £55mil on a GK, LB and CB first. Reportedly leaving us with about £30mil left to play with and struggling to agree staggered payments or loan deals for any attackers. Murphy and Wood are our game changers off the bench atm and if we don't fix that in the next fortnight we will be grinding out a few more 0-0s this season3 points

In the clip, I think Redknapp is just too thick to understand that the players and their attitude are a symptom of the prolonged mismanagement at the top. Rather than being on the wind up. I fucking love seeing Man United like this though. I really hope Ronaldo gets his wish to leave cos they'll be even worse if he's not there.3 points

I would aye. but... I also think not getting the two in would represent a disappointing window overall.3 points

Gallagher would be a very decent signing if we're actually after him. Whether he's what we desperately need is another question, but Shelvey's injury does make him more of a priority than he would have been. He's only 22, plenty of potential, can play multiple centre mid roles, and managed 8 goals and 3 assists in a bang average Crystal Palace side with Vieira chopping and changing his position from attacking to defensive mid.2 points

Totally agree. Anyone who says the business we've done isn't exceptional needs to give their heads a shake.2 points

The business we have done so far I would have said is spot on. Still time left in the window.2 points

His assessment is absolutely spot on. Redknapp clearly trying to be contrary but it's coming across as a bit clueless. I couldn't stand Neville as a player but as a pundit, he's first-rate. And it's utterly glorious to watch Manchester United implode.2 points

Not signing Botman would have been a mistake. Don't forget as well that we thought we were gonna get Ekitike early in the window. That not happening fucked us and nobody expected the PSG move to happen. We came into the window with a plan and Botman and a keeper were very much part of that plan. You don't abandon 80% of your plan to complete 20% of it. I think it's far too simplistic to say with perfect hindsight that we made a mistake signing our only three signings of the window so far.2 points

We did the business in the order that it presented itself. The attacking options were looking at are wanted by their clubs or don't want to leave to come here, so it makes things much harder. Those deals don't happen early in the window, so your scenario probably leaves us with no signings at this stage of the window.2 points
-
Clearly they have tried to buy in those areas but without success for various reasons not necessarily only due to not offering enough. Most of those you suggest we should have bought wouldn't be interested due to lack of European competition even if we could've agreed fees. I am still willing to trust the team to get what they want and need.2 points

The fans wax lyrical when they spunk fortunes on Lukaku, Sancho, Ronaldo, Pogba, Varane, Fernandes, Fred, Wan Bissaka etc. Then massive revisionism happens when they're shit and it's the owners fault for sanctioning the wrong players. Fuck the lot of them, the entitled pricks2 points

I can only assume that Redknapp is on the wind up there, in which case fair play. Putting aside the money aspect of it the Glazers have been absolutely woeful for that club. For years it has been obvious that they have no one good enough running the football and recruitment operations and they’ve done absolutely nothing to address that. They clearly don’t give a shit about the fans but even to protect their own investment it’s been negligent from them. They’ve spent over £1.3 billion on players in the last ten years and look like a lower mid table side. When the managers change, the players change and the chief exec changes then the only common theme is the owners.2 points
