  1. I have to correct myself. I’d find it most hilarious if we played him, won 7-0 to send Burnley down but Burnley got awarded the win because of us fielding an ineligible player, leading to either Everton or Leeds getting relegated.

  2. That writer must be a footballing genius to work out Newcastle would be better if they had home grown wunderkinds. I’m surprised football clubs around the world aren’t breaking down his door to get insights like that.

  3. Saw some absolute danger had been sharing photos of young lads half undressed, so did the right thing and emailed the FA about it. Not stupid though, did it anonymously incase the pest gets wind of it.

  4. I think I’ve been one of the ones calling for a massive turnaround in terms of playing staff in the summer (not sure if you were meaning me or not Rayvin but I’d say I’m in that group - although not anything about Howe or relegation worry!) I personally think that result underlined the need for a large overhaul. Going from some posts on here and twitter I might be in the minority, but I thought that was a complete fucking embarrassment and I’m sick of us receiving humblings like that. I could see it pissed Howe, and certain players off as well - it’s not acceptable the 5th especially was pure just giving up and accepting being shown up imo. For too long we’ve carried players who have just accepted this type of hiding, and had managers who made excuses and also accepted it, we really need fucking rid of it. That’s the overhaul I think we need, maybe it won’t all be big name players for large fees like Bruno, but we need a massive change in character. That’s why the Longstaff contract talks fucking annoy me, I’m hoping it is just to get money for him when we shift him because I don’t know what he brings to the side and his attitude fucking reeks. It’s constantly said about how he’s a local lad, but I watched that game yesterday and from kick off he looked defeated tbh, he wasn’t putting in a massive shift or trying to lift his game just a meek acceptance that we’d be beaten. Massive clear out of these types needed imo, get rid of Lascelles asap and bring in Tarkowski, those type of moves will be vital - not just in terms of quality of squad but in attitude. The acceptance of hidings just lingers on from Pardew and Bruce tbh. Shelvey would have been the same too, type of player that only plays well if the whole team plays well. We can’t say we want high standards and players like Bruno/Trippier, and accept absolute twattings like that and give contracts to quitters like Longstaff. For me it just doesn’t mesh, evolve the squad by all means but we need to remove these bone idle elements as soon as we can. I could visibly see how pissed off Bruno was all game at what was happening.

  8. Smashed the league yesterday ... beat the only team capable of catching us 4-1 on their own turf. My head may be a tad delicate this morning,....

  9. The very same! The fucking Baconator would have ruined the kid this season by recalling him at the first sight that he was any good and pitching him in against PL sides to try and save his own skin.

  10. Would be a nice reward for his efforts. The great thing is that we now have a coach that you can trust to make the right decision and do it right.

  12. Those financial constraints are the only real reason stopping you rising up the table more quickly. We were lucky as we got to spend before FFP bit. It felt to us like FFP was brought in by the established elite (not sure thats a real thing but hey) to protect their place at the peak. I'm not sure thats fair as why shouldn't a fan of every club be able to dream about reaching the top. Actually i'd love for one of these super rich buying a none league club and creating something uniquely them. A few years of buying well and selling / loaning out those not good enough. No idea what your academy is like but if its true that you're going to take "lessons" from the way we did it then you'll build a state of the art academy and state of the art training complex. then get kids from near and far. they make you money to spend on stablished stars whilst giving you the odd gem. We have high hopes that Cole Palmer will follow in Phil Fodens footsteps. And another kid Egan Riley may have to step up as a central defender right now. Could you imagine the next Gazza or Shearer in a team of true quality. Hmm better get back to work.

  17. I don't know why Sunderland are so bothered about playing in the championship, last time they were in it they couldn't get out of it quick enough?

  18. It's funny seeing the tories and their media stooges shit themselves. Thing is, Starmer is probably the most qualified person in the country to know if he's broken the law or not. He's had days to scrutinise his own actions so must be extremely confident. OR, much less likely, he knows he's bang to rights and is fucking the tories as much as possible as a big fuck you. And some on here don't like him!

  20. I don't think he had a choice tbh. But at least doing this gives him bacl the upper hand in the argument again, because no matter what Johnson chucks at him he can say "I'm going if I'm fined. You've been fined and yet there you stand. You cunt."

  21. If you were to offer me Lascelles leaving and Tarkowski coming in on a free as his would-be replacement, that would be a no-brainier imo.

  29. No, I'm asking you, what has he done that makes you think he's such a good leader? I think we all agree here on the facts of this - He's done basically nothing and Johnson has hung himself, but that this is a correct way of playing it. What has he said or done that makes you think he'll set Labour up for a decade plus in power? Which is what we need btw, 5 years before a more competent Tory leader reorganises their party and beats him at his own game (not hard to do when you consider all the economic mess that Labour will have to sort out and get blamed for) isn't the sort of answer we need to this. Starmer should be entirely about making it so that the Tories never get power again. Electoral reform, press standards, safeguarding institutions, maybe even a constitution. He will do none of these things because he is somehow delusional enough to imagine that if he wins this GE, it will be because Labour were attractive rather than the Tories were horrific.

  33. I think the last couple of games have maybe tempered expectations, which some may have allowed to become unrealistic ( not hard to get a bit carried away, mind, given the job Howe and his team have done). With some wise transfers incoming and outgoing over the summer, I reckon we can realistically aim for a finish around 6th-8th - which would be spectacular if we managed to grab a European spot. I’m not saying we’ll do it, but that should be the target.

  34. "I could be so good for you. I'll do it like you want me to. Love you like you want me to. There ain't nothing I can't go through . . . I'll be so good for you" Words he probably doesn't want the Mortician to be singing right now

  38. One of the lads my son plays with was going to reserve game near the start of the season. The lad had his Wallsend Boys Club trackie top on. Anyway Elliot Anderson came up to them, started chatting and saying he used to play for Wallsend and got his photo taken with the lad etc. The dad was saying Anderson seems like a lovely lad. Obviously that’s just an anecdote that doesn’t prove a lot but it suggests he’s got a decent head on his shoulders. I know what he’s done at Bristol Rovers doesn’t mean he’s ready to walk into the first team but, like others have said, it’s great to hear about a loanee doing well at another club for once. It would be brilliant to see a local lad make the grade here though. It’s been far too long since that’s happened
