Bad season or not, youll find practically no one in the town who wanted this, every fan loves him and what hes done for that club. You know we say about rafa or howe that they "get" the club. That's what Dyche was to Burnley. Burnleys a small, poor, town that adores its football club. Dyche got that, he got them into the PL and he kept them there, he got them into europe! Hes a no-bullshit bloke who you could still find grabbing a coffee in mcdonalds after a game and go and have a chat to. He's far and away their greatest manager of the modern era. You don't just boot someone like that so suddenly unless you have no idea what you're doing. It's a very bad sign for Burnley that this has happened.5 points

Lol, had a drive up the kirkstone pass to Pattetdale, glenridding and then Keswick for lunch (greggs), shouting fuck off Wyki to every cyclist holding up the traffic Bowness has been canny Tbf. Found some new back street pubs and even booked a prime seat for the match. Fallbarrow very nice. 50 yards to the lake with a cup of tea in one hand, dog in the other.3 points

Haven't seen a shred of proof for these 150 mags sad enough to watch Shrewsbury in the third tier in what is essentially a non-critical match. Who counted them? As it turns out, they have a twitter account pretty much dedicated to tracking down black and whites at their games. I mean look at this one who turned up to a Coventry home match! Or this undercover mag exposed at home to Bradford marra. Ffs!3 points

Take care Strawb mate- got to look after yourself first before you can look after your brother’s affairs. As you’ve said above, if your bro is safe and well as things are, don’t do anything until you’ve had the time to process losing your Dad and all that entails. 👍3 points

He’s also very culpable to total brain farts in big games like this. Seems to fall into the trap of thinking that he’s going to surprise the opposition by changing things around but just ends up playing into their hands. Mind, it’s amazing how many goals Liverpool score from doing simple things that nobody else seems to do properly anymore like closing down keepers, having the full backs join the attacks and just general graft2 points

Given how far they are down the leagues there’s good chance these ‘mags’ have two teams & are left over from the 90s boom in support. It’s not uncommon for say…I dunno a Morecambe* fan to support another team. (*is that a team in their league? I dunno )2 points

Can't add anything that hasn't already been said Strawb. Losing a parent is horrendous enough without the additional pressures & responsibilities you obviously feel. Never feel selfish for putting yourself first - if you don't take care of yourself, you can't hope to take care of others. All the best mate.2 points

Their how ‘fucking sad are mags?’ / ‘they must have no life’ etc patter is funny like. A good recent example would be the thread for our game v Wolves. Loads of them spending hours of their Friday night desperate for us lose, going through an emotional wringer, ending in disappointment. Then the odd Newcastle fan turns up after full time to spend about 30 seconds writing a post taking the piss / gloating and it’s the latter who are the sad bastards who are obsessed2 points

There was also something about when England played at the SOS and the mackems were trying to round up various firms to gang up on Newcastle fans and Shrewsbury supposedly stood with our lot.2 points

Haven’t the err “more excitable” element of our support had an association with Shrewsbury that dates back to them all being banged up together after a ruck at Itlalia 1990?2 points

Truth is it doesn't even need a comeback. They need every scintilla of relief from their continual suffering, if that's feeling smug about our former owner's mismanagement then so be it.2 points

I’m also pretty sure Staveley has already stated that her aim is to step back from the day-to-day running once the right people are in place, so it’ll be no surprise to anyone except the Morlocks, tearing the neck off it at the speed of light, when it happens. I hope this becomes their next “truth”, as it’ll make the despair of another season in Division 3 even greater when, like every other “truth” they tell themselves, it doesn’t happen. ( There’s multiple accounts of medieval towns being overcome by “dancing fever”, a form of mass hysteria- I wonder if RTG and it’s noncesense is like a modern day version of it… they all get carried away with it, it spreads like crabs at a mackem family reunion, and they’re a medieval town?)2 points

So is it sportswashing, or an investment to make money? I also enjoy that “the mags are adamant PIF are” and investment fund, I mean those two words are in the name of the thing. Thick as pig shit. No clue whatsoever what that jlaws point is. They’re a £700B (that’s only liquid funds iirc) fund who have effectively spent £1.3B on a football club, a notoriously hard thing to turn a profit on. How would we ever be sold at a profit unless we are one of the elite sides? And to get there they’d have to spend a fortune which makes profit even less likely. They can keep making up scenarios but the real reason they bought the club is staring them in the face. If they wanted profit they could have put £1.3B into Google shares ahead of the split.2 points

Has to be said like, I never would have believed that the season after we went down to much amusement at their end, the universe would bitch slap them so hard they would fall right through the championship and into 4(+?) seasons in League One2 points

Cheers lads. It’s good to be able to vent sometimes. My mother isn’t ill, but she is pushing 70 so won’t be around for ever. We have appropriate care for my brother, I sorted that prior to dads death as my mam can’t handle it on her own. He lives in my mam and dads house that we kitted out with an annex to suit his needs (hoist/wet room etc), and I directly employed 3 carers using his independence benefits that come 3 times a day. My current plan is to leave him in that house with live in care eventually but then I will just worry I’m relying on people doing what they say they will do when I’m not there. Things will settle down when I can think about everything properly2 points

I think I’m struggling. My dads death has hit me harder than I thought, and at random times. Im having a hard time dealing with the fact I might need to move back to boro to look after my seriously disabled brother, I moved away from that shit hole for a reason. I don’t want to put him in a home when my mam dies, but I don’t want to move back either. I have built a life here and it’s probably selfish but I don’t want to leave it to care for someone who with all the will in the world might not even recognise me. How is someone meant to weigh these decisions up man?2 points
