Seriously injured in September at work. Followed every doctor's recommendation and advice. I finally got released back to work March 14. I dropped off my medical release and told to come back the next Monday. I arrive and told I have to leave the kitchen. Apparently they lost the contract to the facility. After literally a 100 calls and emails, I got a hold of "management" in Pennsylvania. Told they had no job for me and I said I hired a lawyer. Tonight, I received a phone call. I am being moved to a different kitchen and a $2 raise.7 points

The cost of living hikes over the past 2 years is nothing short of disgraceful. In the same period wages have remained stagnant meaning it's the consumer being fucked over and again, people accept it as 'normal'. Filling the car up last night cost £85 for a small hatchback! I've had letters this month from my mobile provider, ISP and water board saying charges are increasing, the cost of everything in the supermarket is rocketing on the quiet, Council Tax has increased by 5% for the 2nd year running and lets not even start on gas & electricity. And then you've got the patronising cunt of a Chancellor telling us he appreciates how difficult it is for people / he's the chancellor who has presided over the biggest pandemic / yadda, yadda, yadda. He hasn't got the first fucking clue what poverty is, the silver spoon licking cunt. The attitude of Tory sympathisers who utter "it is what it is" fucks me off too. Like this just needs to be accepted. No, fuck off! There's a genuine reality that 2/5 of the population are heading towards an impoverished state. It's appalling.6 points

https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/mexicans-at-match.1575624/ This was shaping up to be a “Mexicans are MLF” thread before it become clear they weren’t Mexican at all, just some blokes wearing sombreros. Why would someone see some blokes in sombrero’s and just assume they were a group of Mexicans? It could be that there’s a desperation among that fan base for everyone in the world to support them, it could also be that the OP hasn’t travelled further than a 10 mile radius of Pennywell and just assumes all Mexicans walk about in Sombreros. My personal question is why make a thread about it at all?6 points

https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2022/apr/04/six-months-in-newcastle-takeover-still-offers-little-cause-for-celebration?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other And so, Glendenning is finally permitted to have a go at us. His justification? It's been six months since the takeover and he has to earn his money somehow. Barry has taken aim, more or less, at us. Internet present Newcastle fans who, he argues, are useful idiots for the regime. We engage in whataboutery for all the other things Saudi invests in, and laments that football journalists have to explain all the other things they condemn first, before getting to Newcastle. I'll let you guys read it but he is sure as shit aiming that at forums and discussions like ours. No comments open naturally. Barry is earning money off this article, I am sure. So he has profited more from the Saudi takeover than any one of us so far. I am certain the money he has made will be donated to Yemen, as you would expect from any morally upstanding person who had gone to bat for these issues. He's a true believer, I'm sure. Not just an opportunistic hack making drama out of a story. I'm sure he was writing on the plight of Yemen for many months before this. I'm sure he's entirely consistent. And to accuse him of anything to the contrary...well.. that would be shameless whataboutery from a useful idiot.6 points

Some of their games get shown here on ESPN’s streaming service. You have to dig pretty deep into the menus, literally scrolling past the options for Championship, Eredivisie, Serie A, SuperLig (iirc) and others to such a level that when you do find them they should put a pop up saying “are you fucking sure you want to put this shit on?”, also the games have no commentary on them. But still maybe Americans will become MLF’s.5 points

It is widely accepted that Barry Glendenning is a sot who can't even pronounce the name of his favourite team properly & that he most certainly hadn't been hacked when he posted a photo of his wang that time.5 points

He’s one of the journalists I’ve refused to read for a while now, he’s a bitter little twat when it comes to us - I also find his other stuff to be shite anyway. I’ve little to no doubt he won’t have tried to see it from any other view and has took to blaming NUFC fans. Says a lot about him that I don’t apply this refusal to read their stuff to Delaney. The whataboutery excuse is made by idiots nowadays, it’s their get out of jail free card - don’t get me wrong I’m sure people come out with absurd things and do try to gloss over things using comparisons of others, but even when presented with very fair arguments and comparisons a lot of these journalists just yell whataboutery and refuse to discuss it. The coverage of Qatars World Cup, the way the journalists sprinted to board the planes there, and the lack of sponsors suddenly abandoning a chance at having their company names attached to it has proven part of our point. He is welcome to paint in broad strokes and dress us Newcastle fans up as evil monsters who are completely complicit in all of the evils Saudi Arabia participates in, and since we cannot make a single comparison or point to a single example where Saudi (and other blood money) is gleefully accepted (whataboutism and all that), that makes us one of the most heinous groups on the planet. If that’s the logical framework he wants to apply, then is it fair to say he is a supporter paedophiles and child molestors? after all the club he supports knowingly sheltered one and many that support that club vocalized their support of that behavior - works both ways - not whataboutism btw I’m simply saying if he wants to judge our fan base like that then we can judge his appropriately so. Couple of genuine questions, ones idiots like him would scream whataboutism because it’s impossible for them to argue, but I’m assuming the course of action we all should have taken was to basically stop supporting NUFC - by extension the same would obviously apply to fans of Chelsea, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Wolves (three brummy clubs indirectly owned by the Chinese state), Leicester City, Everton (we know the real owner), Sheffield United, Paris, etc etc etc, what then? Would everything magically be fixed? Would we not have a Qatari World Cup, or a Russian one prior to that? On the vein of world cups, by extension is everyone meant to turn that off and not watch? Or is there some loophole that makes that particular (and far, far more public/viewed/successful) brand of sportswashing perfectly acceptable to engage in in a way supporting your PL side isn’t? Personally I find a glamorous, once every 4 years event, that has an influx of attention, and allows the holders the chance to paint whatever image they really want of their country on this massive stage to be a more glaring example of sportswashing but never mind. I’m sure this last point is what someone like him would seize on “what about Brazil 2014 that didn’t show a good side of Brazil” it’s also not a leader that cared to use it in the manner that Qatar will, if the Brazilian government had wanted to they would have but they had bigger issues to deal with than foreign perception. TLDR; Barry Glendenning can suck my balls the little mackem divvie. To paraphrase Will Smith “keep my clubs name out your fucking mouth”.5 points

I didn't know where to put this, but this felt the best place. I have just got back from a long weekend in Belgium. Fuck me, what an absolute fucking shit hole we live in. It's utterly depressing. The whole of the A1 is basically a landfill site. There's some junction's a landfill site would have less litter in. Operation Brock (was stack) was in full flow because of thee weather & also the P&O situation. But the poor truckers had tailbacks of 25 MILES. No facilities, nothing. I bet some where there for well over a day, exceeding their driving limits. Fucking disgusting the way we treat people. We were delayed by 2h on the tunnel, which in comparison is fuck all like. But when we got there its clear they're short staffed. The car terminal hardly had any cars there, there was hardly anyone in the terminal. The place was dead. Yet we were delayed for 2h? Coming back, was similar. Then get to passport control. We get pulled by the UK passport people asking us all sorts of questions. We both have Irish passports and I think that spooked them4 points

Aye, I think the lad you’ve highlighted also had a topic that was different from others, which was interesting, and he had a passion for it. You also can’t just leave your job prospects entirely and say you’re a full time content maker, if you look at any top podcaster, YouTuber etc they all will discuss a point where they took that leap into making it a full time thing and they were all pretty big by that point - TG had been going for years iirc when he did that, the lads on the football ramble still mostly work other jobs despite the fact they’re now at a level where they employ full time staff. Pearson (Blades, Wraith etc) would also get less flak if they could take flak, if they actually had any knack for this or did anything interesting or different, and didn’t act like they were doing everyone some massive favor “how dare you have a go at me don’t you know I do this full time, I’ve dedicated my life to this” . They also overvalue the time it takes people to give them shit, most people scroll through twitter on a 5 minute break, have a pop at them and go back to work. TG went viral for his rants, whatever your views on it they were different to a lot of other stuff at the time and often were funny, he then branched into other things, some that worked some that didn’t. As Tom has mentioned in the past there’s lads like Emil who have a knack for interviewing, he will get reactions and discuss things in a level way, he will go onto sky and be fair take criticism and present a viewpoint he sees from speaking to fans. Meanwhile Pearson films U-23 games, which lets be honest there’s little interest in - he presents this as showing dedication but no one cares, if Wraith gets on sky he pushes himself, he’s ridiculous and presents his view as some leader of the fan base while also acting like he has actual involvement with the ownership. I know typing this out was redundant as they’ll never see it, but it’s a realistic way of how I see it. We’d all love to be in a position like True Geordie is now, but the fact is many of us, me (Pearson etc) included, simply don’t have the knack for it. They need to realize wanting it isn’t enough, and don’t write off all criticism as ‘haters’.3 points

So I've browsed a few message boards of other clubs. Shockingly, the greater the rivalry/enmity/disdain their fans have for Newcastle United, the more assured they are that they'd walk away from their own club if they were bought out by these Bond villains. Everton, Spurs, Villa, and of course the Morlocks down the road.3 points

He was poor generally but he'll always be a complete legend to me for getting one of the biggest bites in football history out of the kop when he scored the pen. 1st of October 1988 - never forget - as someone else might say.3 points

I'm certain there would be some now who would stay away if they were bought by Putin or whoever simply because they have said they would if they were us and they couldn't bare to be shown up as the hypocrites we know they really are. But they're only kidding themselves if they try to claim there'd be any mass boycott. Nobody else is buying that.3 points

I think there were some idiots on Twitter justifying it for some bizarre reason. But I think in the real world most people recognise it as a barbaric act. I think we all know for a solid fact they’d be behind the Saudis from the off. They’ve got a messiah complex for every owner that isn’t the current one, anyone new is instantly treat as game changing.3 points

I'll put this one out there, even though I think the rumours that went round last week were complete bollocks, if we were able to sneak Coutinho from under the noses of Villa, that'd be an upgrade from ASM for me.3 points

I used to be a regular on another forum. The lad who ran it used to do some podcasts. He would typically get a guest on and spend half an hour discussing a subject. Like one time they talked about the Minneapolis punk scene. Another time it was about what it like living in New York in the early 80s. He was a natural and an had lived an interesting life and knew some people who were also worth listening to. But it was also clear he had a proper mic setup and also had a good idea of what they were going to spend the 30 minutes or so talking about. So fuck? Well the point I’m making is this fella was clearly just having a bit of fun, doing it as a hobby and didn’t have any notions of making a career out if it. Despite that it was fucking miles more professional than Pearson’s efforts (of Holly Blades’ for that matter).3 points
