His day got even worse after being arrested for filming minors without securing parental consent7 points

Was sent this, couldn't find the actual tweet so Gemmill will have to suck it up and deal with it in image format6 points

if his parents had owt about them, they’d be telling him to pursue a proper career / get some training / whatever. He’s only able to kid himself he’s a full time YouTube ‘content creator’ because they’re subsidising the £100 a month his channel makes. His videos are absolutely shite, he’s got no discernible talent for it and he has the vibe of an absolute toucher. Admittedly I haven’t sat through a lot of them but the one where he met Eddie Howe and infected him with COVID was basically his woeful patter accompanying footage of him and some other weirdos stood at the training gates for hours. Apart from the bit where he thought it would be interesting to show him going for a McDonald’s6 points

It’s one of Deano’s best formations that mind. Nice little Sitka as Libero, Norwegian Pine as a False 10, and Douglas Fir as Trequartista. #field #shrubs #lawnsmowed #£500aweek6 points

I watched a premier League world episode, 33, about NUFC, predominantly interviewing John Hall but with a few ex-players, wasn't too bad, was on for half an hour but they had the lass from true faith, Charlotte, I think? She's good the odd time I've heard her, isn't a stammering gimp and she always comes across well but I can't help but think it's always the same people representing the fans, (could be far, far worse in her case), but here's the rub, it's the same faces even when discussing events where they'd have been young bairns if they were born at all? To me the Keegan entertainer years bits and bobs TV sometimes do almost always miss a massive point and you can tell any 'bairns' miss it too by not being around and old enough, and that I really think you had to be around the club, going to games for a few years before to properly drink in the dramatic change and to have truly enjoyed and felt it. Even daft stuff like us laughing at the backpass change as it was nothing to a passing, progressive team like ours was where other, lesser teams honestly couldn't get their heads around it even picking it up, knowing they couldn't pick it up but doing it anyway as their conscious brain fart was played out in front of thousands of laughing supporters. Anyway, like I say, it could've been a pudding like Pearson sitting there talking as if he was an audience member on Rolf's cartoon club.4 points

A year later and her cuts would have made it impossible for the navy. The yards on the Tyne ramped up production to finish a carrier iirc and were rewarded with no more orders and eventual closure.4 points

From what it seems like on Twitter he basically films games, which you obviously aren’t meant to be doing, he was asked to pack it in before being thrown out.3 points

What surprised me, aside from the fact that they were both totally avoidable losses of life, was how unequivocally Michael Rose and Julian Thompson blamed Wilson for it, and their criticism of how the entire South Flank was unnecessary and detrimental to the conflict. It’s worth noting that the only military commander involved in the war not to get an honour the following year was Wilson.3 points

Hadn't you had 9 pints of LCL in the Beehive before you did that though? 🤔3 points

Theres a whole lot more to Joyce Mckinney.... looks like I'd only be 7/8 when this was going on but I think the thing round our way was the young mums in the street were bring visited by Mormon missionaries during the day whilst the dads were all at work I distinctly remember them being at our street's silver jubilee party... I think the interest in this case came from there, mum was reading about it in the papers and my older sister read alloud the lurid details to me and my brother...its strange the things you remember.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manacled_Mormon_case?wprov=sfla13 points

His post-match vlog is up. He is not happy lads, he is NOT happy. He works his arse off for this club... well he doesn't work for the club, but his vlogs promote the U23s to a wider audience. He's expecting a call from the club. On what fucking planet does this kid live?3 points

There were no good goalies. Zero. Schmeichel, Seaman, Martyn, Flowers, Big Neville Southall, de Goey, off the top of my head.3 points

So Shearer benefited from playing at a time when there were no good goalkeepers, but that only he was able to benefit from it. That's his argument in full. If goalkeepers were shit, every other forward of his generation would look "better" as well. And so they would have all been worth more. And so Shearer, relative to other forwards, would have been worth... exactly the same. If he'd gone in claiming other forwards were shit then that'd be one thing, but calling out keepers as the reason Shearer looked so good is just fucking stupid.3 points

Channel 4 so I would imagine you’ll be able to see it on catch-up. It’s not so much documentaries in the past sugar coating events. It’s more the suppression of things around the attack of the Sir Galahad and the battle at Goose Green. It’s certainly the first time I’ve heard it said that they were both unnecessary parts of the conflict which were detrimental to the British side from a tactical POV (as well as the unnecessary loss of life / injuries / PTSD). Obviously no war is going to be perfectly executed on the ground but they seemed like pretty grave errors of judgement from the top brass. Also stuff like Atlantic Conveyor not being properly protected and its being attacked led to an acute shortage of supplies, helicopters etc.3 points

I assume from his post he was thrown out for fiddling with himself, and he didn't get to finish.3 points

Whizzer and Chips- you were a Chip-ite or a Whizz Kid. Somewhat prophetically, given my proclivities a few short years later, I was a Whizz Kid. We’d have laced Dennis and then used Dan’s limp body to mop up the mess.2 points

Aye, possibly? I thought the other lad, a medic from Manchester area , was very honest- his description of the absolute hell on the Galahad, and his very candid talk about how PTSD affected him. There was a lad a few years above me in school, who lived only 100 yards from me in Killy, who died out there- Colin Davison, in the Marines. He was a lovely lad, very quiet and the last person you’d expect to join the Army, never mind the Marines. What a waste.2 points
