Huge set of results today. When Howe took over I firmly believed we had a decent chance of staying up - the time he had to work with the players and the potential to bring people in during the January window being key. Along with not being adrift even though we hadn’t won a game. But I thought it would be very tough and, if we were to eventually be safe, it would go down to the wire. There’s still work to do and we got away with one today (although I think Howe had very little luck in those early games). But what a fucking transformation, man. Already more than a point per game for the season and 7 (SEVEN!) points clear of the bottom three. And with only Everton, of teams below us, having games in hand.13 points

It’s the first time for a long time I got a health warning watching the match though.8 points

Schar was a beast at the back and got the winner too. Get that contract sorted.8 points

That’s the thing like. They’re victims too, he has about as much respect for the lives of his own forces as he does the people of Ukraine7 points

As much as I'm glad Ukraine is defending itself, I'm not sure I'll ever get used to seeing people being killed like that. This is of course a tragedy for the 20 year old Russians Putin has sent to their deaths as well.7 points

I would have executed my special move. The Defibrillator. CLEAR! Then just a massive double tit punch.6 points

And I’m going on Thursday We shouldn’t beat ourselves up about a below par performance, we’ve come a long way in the process of getting 26 points from a possible 286 points

I hate seeing 'help our heroes' type posts on twitter about anniversaries of killed soldiers in Afghanistan, not because I'm callous and don't care that they died but more of the fact that I just don't understand why they were there in the first place. Total waste of a life even though I'm sure they thought they were doing a vital job. It's almost like those tweeting get a stalker on about it?6 points

Mental run, even when having a fairly poor game we pulled off the win. This turnaround has been absurd, I give Howe all the credit in the world as the change in these players has been spectacular. We’ve went from a team who has no wins in something like 12 games and 1 at Xmas to being in a position where if we win Thursday we will be 4 points and a game in hand from 9th5 points

Now. I know people like the thread up quickly. But these titles need some beer to get the creative juices flowing. So patience.5 points

Ans considering we've done some of it without Wilson, ASM and Trippier. It's the transformation of the players he's inherited that's impressing me the most.4 points

Howe didn’t seem impressed with Bruno for fucking about in the box at the death, mind. Bruno went over for a bit of congratulations and got a right bollocking4 points

We have gone from 5 points in 11 games to 28 in 26. Even if we do not pick up a lot in the upcoming matches it does show how much we have improved.3 points

I'm loving these post match victory team photos.3 points

Especially with the majority of the team not being good enough for the league as Luke E. and Atevie B. were telling us.3 points

I do totally agree. It does also prove how much a manager can change the fortunes and do things his way right from the start. We could have easily picked up more but fir stupidity against Brentford, Norwich and Watford at home. I did really like how BHA were playing today and I think it is actually something Howe wants to achieve as well. The next month will be tough but any point from those matches will be a bonus.3 points

Loads of goals today. Shearer and Lineker will open MOTD doing a stand up 69, I reckon. Lineker peering round the side of Shearer's handstand to introduce the show.3 points

If it stays like this, I'm looking forward to CT telling us all how worried he still is about relegation tomorrow. He'll be sat telling everyone around him now that we need another two to be sure of the win.3 points

Taiwan supplies some of the most advanced microchips used in military equipment, satellites etc. Neither Chinese nor American companies have been able to get anywhere near them technology wise so far. For this reason there's a view that the US will step in if China makes a move on Taiwan. The Silicon Shield they call it, the Taiwanese semiconductor industry. It's crazy times and who knows what will happen but I think history has shown money and strategic advantage are far greater motivators than human suffering.3 points

Just watched the replay (getting too old to stay up these days). And this is exactly what I was coming on to the board to comment about. Pretty sure Bruno went in for the big 'we did it boss' and got 'Don't dally on it in the box, kid', which was probably responded to with 'It's okay, gaffer, I'm Brazilian', and then Eddie gave him the steely-eyed "shut it". This ends my Eddie Howe fan-fiction. *swoon* Bruno did fanny about a good bit with it once he came on which wasn't the go but it's forgivable with the win now in our pocket. The kid is obviously a bit frustrated and incredibly eager to show his ability, which he has bags off quite clearly if the lack of game time might be started to affect his head. We really just needed to keep the ball and take it to the corner flag. Having Bruno and ASM come on was really not the best in terms of my health; Bruno because he's eager to impress and push for a third goal & ASM because he's a peanut with a lot of talent and no brain. Anyway, we got there in the end. Not the best performance. Took our chances clinically in the opening quarter hour. Defended stoutly. Midfield was pretty poor today in possession with Shelvey & Willock giving away possession easily far too often. And we didn't get much in the way of good utilisation of the ball coming out from the fullbacks either. I thought the front three and Joelinton played well and the back four were all very impressive again defensively. And Debrav had barely anything to do and maybe didn't dominate his box too well during all their corners but he was getting blocked off quite a bit by the Brighton players playing to pin him on his goal line. Considering the amount of extra work we made for ourselves with poor possession retention, we really did defend very very well. Another average performance (at least in attack) and another 3 points. Not the first time we've won playing below our best in recent weeks. Long may it continue. As for the game mid-week, it's not exactly the work of a psychic, but I reckon Bruno will finally get his first start against Southampton. It's probably not the best to reward the little bit of petulance that was on display in his disregard for the game situation today with a start next match, but I'd imagine it'll be taken in context by Howe and co., and after a brief chat about things, he'll finally get the chance to show himself from the start and that should be enough to settle him and move beyond the little bit of brainlessness that was on display today. Onwards and upwards. ❤️2 points
