"Yeah, not getting dragged into this endless NUFC twitter Steve Bruce thing but, WHAT'S THIS?! Bruce has them in midtable just like he had Newcastle in midtable EXACTLY THE SAME AS MIGHTY RAFA so I don't know what else to add to this debate which is now getting a bit boring. Move on Newcastle fans. Another beer? Don't mind if I do. How'd Newcastle get on? I don't know, I haven't covered them for a few weeks now. Boosh!"9 points

The thing with Trump is, everything he did/didn't do during his presidency can be viewed, and was based, entirely on "what does this do for me personally?". There were no military interventions because it was of no benefit to him personally. He was however more than happy to stoke violence against his detractors in his own country, and give words of support to those acting violently on his behalf. See also tax cuts for the incredibly wealthy, appointing stooges at the DoJ, the list is fucking endless. We haven't seen any previous presidents try to fraudulently overthrow an election either btw. If he didn't do some of the stuff we've seen from presidents in the past, this wasn't because he's a great man, it's because he couldn't see what was in it for him.7 points

That would be since the last major domestic trophy. This is the sort of trap you can easily fall into if you’ve only been into football / NUFC for 5 minutes6 points

Only they could possibly get excited about that. Trust fund kid attends event ffs, reading into it like “he’s getting our name out there mixing with big teams and talking us up” - what the fuck does that even mean? What would talking them up even do? Do they think that’s what got Manchester City to where they are now, just randomly have their owners hang about places other owners would be to “talk them up”? Staggering stupidity. They just have to accept reality, they’re just a no mark lower league side. No one gives a fuck about them besides Newcastle fans having a laugh about them. The highlight of their recent footballing history is rotting out the bottom of the top division, but aye massive club. Will the effects of mammys boy talking them up help next season? Or should we wait a while?5 points

There's something not right with him to the point it's unsettling. When he did that dancing video I half-expected him to raise his arms at ten-to-two with his tadger tucked between his legs.5 points

I hope they get to enjoy him for a while longer then. They don’t get off the hook after 6 games or whatever it is, being on the side of “he’s treat harshly” after we had him for 2.5 YEARS! Hope he’s there for ages, Brummy cunts.5 points

It’s hard to see where he goes from here. If he fails in Ukraine he is humiliated. If he succeeds then his country continues to face financial ruin. To go into Ukraine in the first place was a bizarre decision. It’s lose/lose for him.5 points

Absolutely horrific to live in Kyiv and have a live view of a 40 mile long procession of vehicles that are on their way to, at a minimum, irreversibly change your life, and at worst, to end it. Fuck Putin and his enablers. I hope this twat meets the most grisly end imaginable.5 points

Oh here we go, so you think Trump won the election then. I mean, I'm out. I'm not going to engage with QAnon conspiracy theories and the Big Lie. But just to be clear, Biden didn't inspire all those votes for him, Trump inspired the votes against him. Because, and I cannot stress this enough, he was absolutely fucking terrible at being President.5 points

Just finished reading it, a superb interview indeed. It got me thinking though about all the good work Putin has done to sow misinformation and bullshit on both sides of the political spectrum. My (hard-core leftwing) friend absolutely and fundamentally believes that this is on NATO. And then you go over to the right wing YouTube community and that's what they're all saying too. I pointed out to my friend that he was basically agreeing with Farage and he just gave me the "even a stopped clock" line, but the reality is this isn't a twice a day issue. It's almost every issue. The left and the right are uniting in their backlash against the international order that has kept us at peace for over half a century, and they're both too blind to realise that they are now absolutely two sides of the same coin. In fact, people on both sides have started telling me that there is no left and right anymore, it's all just freedom versus control. And like, maybe that's true - but if it is, it's because both sides have lined up in close proximity to Putin - without even realising it I might add. Their talking points have been sown for years by agents of disruption and misinformation. That's what Cadwalldr was saying, that's what Fiona Hill is saying. So that's why they think there's no left or right anymore, because there isn't. There's just propaganda. Neither side trusts the government except over sacred cow style issues, and neither side is prepared to listen to reason. Putin owns both the brexit voting accidental destroyers of Western liberalism, along with the communism demanding, intentional destroyers of Western liberalism (due to their belief that behind the psychotic and murderous eyes of Putin lies a cuddly figure who only wants a fair world). Useful idiots, IMO. Anyway, hard to imagine how we even break out of this.4 points

I'm sure all his numerous friends that totally went for a pint with him think he's great. That photo He's clearly launched himself from the phone lent against a bar stool, across the room, and he's dove into the chair just as the timer's gone off, somehow getting off the last millisecond finger guns. I wonder how many attempts it took him while the rest of the pub wondered what the fuck the chunky loner was playing at.4 points

Chelsea's Thomas Tuchel voices frustration over Roman Abramovich questions - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/60577456 They fucking don't like it do they eh? Different when it's aimed at small. Newcastle though eh4 points

The kid with the suit on and his phone out enjoying a game of football and getting carried away no doubt especially after having attended some of Sunderland's games, must be like going from Hiroshima after the bomb dropped to a glimpse of paradise. Odds on he'll get a Liverpool shirt.4 points

It's tipped me over the edge actually. Got my Dad's funeral on Thursday, so much to organise and realised I literally can't usefully function at my job any more at the moment. Work have been brilliant and given me compassionate leave for the rest of the week, but I worry I'm not exactly making a great impression less than one year in. It has motivated me to see the GP (again), me and probably thousands of others. I also just hate the normalisation of lying in politics. Trump, Putin, Johnson, all lying cunts. I mean nobody really believed Putin when he claimed these were just exercises, but still the blatant lying is disgusting. There's no trust left in the world.4 points

It isn’t just possible it’s the logical conclusion to years of corruption. Money meant for the armed forces has been stolen on a massive scale by those in charge. Putin allowed it as long as they helped him hold power and what tge hell no one is stupid enough to invade Russia right. The Ukraine was supposed to roll over very quickly, they weren’t supposed to be this well organised so it didn’t matter you were sending troops under paid with dodgy gear snd no fuel because it will only take 2-3 days maximum. Now it’s all starting to fall apart and like I said ages ago this will mean the end of Putin. Russia can put up with a lot of things but failure isn’t one of them.4 points

That photo, btw. It only really makes sense if he’s in the pub on his own and put a timer on his phone to take it. The weird angle / pose, the almost empty table, his not looking at the camera like he was caught slightly off guard etc. What a weirdo.3 points

There's a very long chain of command between Putin saying fire a nuke and the person who pushes the button, it would be a first strike, and I am in the school of thought that someone in that chain of command would stop it. (as it was stopped in the cold war by a Colonel - he may even have been a captain).2 points
