I don’t know if I’ve told this story before but I was an above average goalkeeper as a kid. About 16/17 playing for a team with my mates after being released by a professional team. I was injured with a bad back and sat watching my mates playing a cup semi final against a much better team for 119 minutes, at whitby towns ground (which was a big deal at that age). The whole team grafted their tits off for the whole game and it was 0-0 and going to penalties. The coach decides since I have a reputation (deserved) for saving penalties, he would bring me on last minute and we would win and both be heroes. With about 0.5 seconds of the game left the other team manage to have probably the worst shot on target they have managed in 12 odd games in their cup run, and because my back is fucked, I make a complete bollock of saving it and it goes in. So we lose 1-0 before penalties. The lads loved me at college on the monday.11 points

Wilson went back to Bournemouth for their nutritional specialist too. Bruce’s “nutritional specialist” was probably a vending machine.9 points

If anyone loves a sausage party it’s Brighton. But all I can see for them is a battering. 3-09 points

#HWTL 8 games unbeaten? Howe has taken the team to 7 unbeaten with a tougher defence. Back at home after two away games on the spin. We have a few games on the bounce now so wonder if he will start Bruno soon. It's mad thinking that we have Shelvey in and fully worthy of his place. Brighton seem to play well away from home. But have recently had a slump so we shall see. #makelovenotwar7 points

I think severely lacking fitness and playing for a club completely devoid of ambition would absolutely knack your attitude mind. If your employer doesn't care, why would you?5 points

I’m collecting donations for Ukrainian Refugees & driving down to York with them on Saturday, as there’s a collection for humanitarian aid at Acomb Church hall. If any of our North East based posters have any of the following & would like to donate I can pick stuff up. It needs to be bagged & labelled so as to help the aid workers.4 points

Yeah that'll do, lets bring this back on topic now please. Ignore function works if you use it right. Don't engage with people you feel are making bad faith arguments. Only post outside material from reputable sources. I missed all of this carry on last night while I was asleep but while I'm not anything not adhering to the above will go.4 points

Crucial period and games coming thick and fast: Saturday: Brighton (H) Thursday: Southampton (A) Sunday: Chelsea (A) Thursday: Everton (A) Sunday: Palace (H) Might we see some rotation in the midfield over this period... ? Anyway home win please to start the run of games off on the right foot.4 points

Football doesn't always work out logically but we've looked more than handy in the last few games and Brighton have looked shit. Attitude needs to be spot on as any let up gets punished, it's great the confidence is back but it's hard work that's brought them that confidence. We owe Brighton a beating up here.4 points

Chelsea They bring on Kepa in the last minute of extra time for penalties who then fails to save a single one and blazes his penalty over the bar to lose it for them.4 points

I think the biggest, most effective change is that Howe fulfilled the most basic requirement of a manager- he’s made sure the team is fit. Unlike our previous incuntbent.4 points

Are you comparing the EU to the Soviet Union and the repatriation of Ukraine to Brexit? This is just utter nonsense even by your weird standard.3 points

I’d take a point now tbh. Just keep the run going, keep steadily getting points on the board and keeping steady. Unless we score early then I want them twatted3 points

Totally agree. This isn't just blind optimism either. We are confident. The stats back it up too. We are hard to break down. We have players buzzing all over and the midfield is just that. They all know what is expected of them. I just can't wait for the next game at the moment. MENTAL and LOVING IT!3 points

i was all for starting bruno straight after he signed but you don't drop any of that midfield. it would be criminal the way all three are playing. bruno's going to have to wait patiently for his chance. i'm going for a home win. i imagine sjp will be rocking on the back of recent performances and now the pressure has eased. brighton are a good side and have a decent record against us but it feels like a good time to be playing them. another superb thread title pretty much guarantees us the three points3 points

We said the same coming out the ground yesterday, if he's not in the next Brazillian squad it'll be down to Bruno slagging him off behind his back to the coach out of jealousy3 points
