I've had a few memes like this. Given what the French lost in both world wars, its really not true or funny.7 points

Patel, home secretary in the government awash with filthy Russian loot, bans refugees from a war waged by the tyrants who bought the tory party. Makes you proud to be British š¬š§ š¤®4 points

Nah, I donāt buy that. Itās all about Owen being a horrible charmless little cunt. No way would the majority of pros act like that to a 13 year old. I refer you to the Toontastic Hall of Cunts thread which Owen won at a canter even though one of the other players is a kiddy fiddler who played for Sunderland.4 points

Going back to the point in hand however, it's one thing Owen having that 'caveman' opinion, it's quite another that he verbalised it in front of a fellow ex-professional who has been well documented for passionately fighting the crusade against Alzheimer's / Dementia suffered by footballers. Complete lack of class, the utter cunt.4 points

Yes please. I've just read that stuff about Ukraine's defence ministry advising people to "make molotov cocktails and neutralise the enemy". Fucking radge. Different gravy, people in that part of the world. I'd be in my fucking loft. Big wet patch on the ceiling below where I'd just been pissing and crying round the clock.3 points

Hi Everyone, This is obviously huge news and a terrible thing is happening but I want to take a second to remind you that Russia in particular are extremely good at getting misinformation out in to the world which then spreads. As such I want to urge you to ensure that anything you are sharing is from proper sources and inform you that anything shared from bad faith actors or any posts made on this subject in bad faith will be removed. We're a small community of people who mostly know each other well, we're nothing compared to the absolute mess that is Twitter right now but that doesn't mean we shirk our responsibility to not spread propaganda or misinformation. So, please do be careful about what you're reading and what you are sharing, here and everywhere else online. Cheers!3 points

What a mental couple of days. Feel horrible for the Ukranians. Was watching a WWII documentary a few days ago and thinking thank bloody heavens we seem to be over this sort of thing. Not that the countless proxy wars don't cause enough misery. The ease with which Russia seems to have gotten to Kyiv is unsettling too, It's not like Ukraine is really tiny, although I do realize its too early to really determine who's planning what. This is also probably going to cause smaller countries with larger, angrier neighbors to step up military spending and just make the world a more dangerous place overall even if you ignore the current war. I think Putin's just pushed the world back to 1945, the freaking lunatic. Hasn't he been taking notice of the sneaky underhanded regime change moves the US has been pulling off for decades? At least there's less chance of half the world getting involved.2 points

He's not the new Keegan, if anything he seems more like Benitez with the obsessive attention to detail work ethics. I was gutted at the time that Rafa wasn't available, but in hindsight seems we might have the best parts of Rafa's coaching but with a more progressive style and his best years ahead of him. So far definitely better than I expected2 points

It does sound that way. No one is coming to save them though, we already know this. They know this. We are letting this happen.2 points

I've gone from thinking there is no way we would see tanks in Kviv (nailed that one) to worrying that Putin is so unstable he might go nuclear. I ssume they just hope he gets bogged down in a never ending war that is contained2 points

I know Iām neither a military nor political expert, but Iām struggling to see how we in the West can just sit on our hands and watch this happen without helping? It seems almost inevitable to me that we will have to send military help, so why wait until the Russians are established in the country- do it now. Itās not like this has come out of the blue. ( I know there are many reasons why we arenāt, but it just seems like weāre letting Putin piss all over everything here, when we could actually stop this fairly quickly and decisively).2 points

Taking the decision of concussion injuries out of the manager's hands could a way around it. The Premier League dispatch an independent medical delegate, qualified in neurology to each match whose call it is to make whether a player suffering a head injury should be allowed to continue or not.2 points

That is shite, yeah there was an early neo-nazi leaning government, it lost big style in later elections and now gets a tiny proportion of votes similar as the cunts do here. Current PM is Jewish FFS. This Ukraine are naziās bollocks is a Russian construct, somewhat ironic give the neo-nazis in Russia. The separatism was also Russian fuelled.2 points

Champions League final moved to Paris, BA flights banned from Russian airspace, but the action that piqued my interest is by the Haas F1 team (formerly sponsored by Rich Energy). Since the start of 2021, they've controversially been racing in a colour scheme that looks like a Russian flag despite the fact competing under a Russian flag at world championship level is banned due to a WADA ban. The team is financed by a Russian oligarch, Dmitry Mazepin who has covered the car in Uralkali sponsorship and stuck his useless son in one of the race seats. The American team owners have today, removed the Uralkali branding and also the blue and red from the colour scheme during the winter test session. Hugely strong statement given it could bring about a complete withdrawal of investment and with it, cause the team to collapse. Well played2 points

I work with a few former rugby players and honestly I'd have to wonder how the doctors would be able to establish what is the result of head trauma versus normal run-of-the-mill class-A stupidity in most of them. And then there's the recreational drug use which is like incinerating a melted candle with a blowtorch for these fuckers. Anyway, head knocks -- serious business. Stop distracting me from my outrage! š2 points
