Quite a conversation to be having given that the current manager eats crisps on the toilet10 points

City fan here.... Very happy for you lot. I hope you get to taste the same levels of success that we've had over the past 13 years. Prepare to become absolutely hated by everyone (especially Liverpool, United & Arsenal supporters). The bitterness makes it even more special. My only concern is that the current 'big' clubs have pulled up the drawbridge with FFP - I 'm interested to see how the new owners try and navigate it. We were long suffering like you once. It's nice to see another set of loyal fans getting excited!8 points

The football isn’t too cautious like, it’s devoid of any tactical framework whatsoever. I assume Winter, like many of these journalists demanding Bruce gets “respect” wouldn’t know that as they’ve barely seen us play over the last few year. I put respect in quotes as I’m genuinely baffled by what they mean by it, Newcastle fans are just saying he should be sacked, he will receive an outrageous pay off, what the fuck more do they want? The bloke isn’t getting assaulted or hounded by fans in anyway, most the chat on social media is just how he’s done a shit job while many in the media are trying to ridiculously paint it as a decent job in hard circumstances, despite those circumstances being well known to him long before he took the job. He’s shown zero respect to the fan base and the club, so I’m not sure why he should be treat with anything besides contempt now we are finally about to be rid of him.6 points

If he deserves respect, why have they chosen a photo of him with a face like a baby filling its nappy.6 points

Oh I’ll keep talking about the bastards. I find it absolutely fucking hilarious tbh, and it’s going to get better and better going forward. They couldn’t even figure out how to leapfrog us while Ashley held a pillow over the face of the club, in fact they managed to get relegated to League One trying to do it. Worthless club, they should be happy we pay attention as no fucker else does. The difference is I’m just laughing at the daft bastards twisting themselves in knots, they sit and read/watch all the coverage about us and get actively pissed off then fume about it in 30 different threads on that eyesore forum of theirs. They’ve went from drenching themselves in blue pop screaming they were North East top dogs after finishing 17th while we finished 18th, to acting like they get more enjoyment from watching some talentless wankers we’ve never heard of kick balls around uneven pitches than they would if their team was playing CL football with a world class line up of players. At the end of the day they can dress it up however they want but football is an entertainment business, there’s a reason more people watch Champions League football than watch lower league football, so they can pipe down.6 points

Mate, we would be just as excited with someone who has a fraction of the Saudi's resources who just wants to try and properly run the club instead of Ashely who had no interest in running the club at all. Being hated by those three lots of support will not be any price to pay at all. Personally I can't bare any of them. Their arrogance absolutely knows no boundaries.5 points

To be fair if you took the lad who wrote that’s GCSE results you could spell out FUDGE, I think he fell off the math track around addition and subtraction and took to the proud cultural mackem tradition of huffing glue under bridges.4 points

Just noticed that reply was a Man City fan, I guess he missed the memo that he’s meant to fucking love Sunderland now?4 points

I’m honestly no longer treating anyone that states Bruce is hard done by, or says he’s done a good job with the benefit of saying they’re on the wind up, as far as I’m concerned they just know nothing about football. It’s actually laughable the bloke is as bad as he is and he’s made a career this long in management, we’ve played 8 this season in all comps and we’ve not come close to a win I’m not even sure how many minutes we’ve even been ahead in games. The fact they are still banging on about it as if it’s even a talking point honestly makes me think they genuinely believe he has done a good job, which is an embarrassing opinion.4 points

There was a video shared on twitter with Darren Ambrose, Darren Bent and some tween. Bent asked if Bruce was being disrespected and fair play Ambrose and the tween shot him down spectacularly. Poor Bent didn't know where to look. Here it is.4 points

I don’t want Gerrard to be our manager. Primarily because I don’t like the fucker, and I don’t like Liverpool. Additionally he’s unproven and light on experience, imo he wants to be Liverpool manager and I don’t want us to be some testing ground/learning experience for the prick on route to his dream job, we’re no ones stepping stone anymore. Get someone that’s a better and more experienced coach tbh.4 points

Just reading about Staveley there. Is everybody aware that she's had Huntington's for the last eight years, or there abouts. It takes someone of special character to keep going in the high pressure finance world she's in, and then to even pull off buying the club, especially given how difficult it's been. Hats off to her in any case. Here's me feeling sorry for myself because I have bells palsy, which will likely clear up in matter of weeks.3 points

Yeah... I don't think I'd have turned up outside SJP celebrating and he's right to have a bit of a dig at some of our more exuberant lads , though to be fair he's gone above and beyond to actually articulate precisely what in the pre & post war period lead to this and how most of us feel.... I'm in equal parts fuckin horrified by our new owners coupled with a massive feeling of helplessness. So fuck it, there's nothing that we can fuckin do now... I started donating to Warchild when the Saudi takeover was first mooted last year...going to change to Unicef, they seem to be a constant presence in Yemen.. https://www.unicef.org.uk/donate/yemen/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwwY-LBhD6ARIsACvT72NG2k81Km42XbV0fDAVS-p1iyyXRTJW4SuSWdscXmj4kUS66eYJpUQaAv0hEALw_wcB3 points

Bit odd to not bin him off today. You do wonder how much experience Staveley has running a massive business and whether she's ever had to actually fire someone before. Things like training ground revamps, stadium upgrades, club sponsors. new manager talks etc. usually involve a team full of senior staff at a club who know what they are doing. At NUFC it sounds like it's Staveley and Charnley currently! We need to get a team in place behind the scenes ASAP so we can actually become a fully functioning club again3 points

Where is the difference to other training sessions?3 points

Just seen a clip of Danny Murphy claiming that there's no one out there better equipped than Bruce for the task at hand. No point getting an actual good manager in because they've never been in a relegation battle, so we're best off sticking with the bloke who fucking put us second bottom and hasn't won a game for fucking ever. Do these cunts even listen to themselves? If that argument held water, no bad managers would ever lose their jobs.3 points

Was just thinking there that the ideal initial scenario could be that Rangnick comes in initially as as head coach for the rest of the season, and then moves into the directors role at the end of the season. He's coached RB Leipzig twice on a short term basis, has extensive on hand coaching experience himself, and what better way would there be for him to find out exactly what the club needs in terms of players, staff, infrastructure etc. than if he did the job on a temporary basis, as well as to keep us up in the league and ticking over.3 points

The last time I looked nearly everyone on there was being outed as ‘a mag’ unless they were pretending to be absolutely filled with pride at not being in our position3 points
-
People genuinely said it was the best day of their lives when we got relegated under Shearer. Also, they’re probably only in the state they are now because the run of derby wins papered over the cracks of an absolute shambles of a club built on very weak foundations. That’s where their obsession takes them3 points

I'm not about to do the maths like but I don't think 800 pages in two months holds up favourably against 700 in 10 years even with a 1:20 ratio factored in.3 points

By the way, like that he slipped in that Leicester could have been them, on what planet? I’m glad he enjoys being shite as it’s something that club will be for his entire life.3 points

The differences between the two clubs are immense, but one of the stark contrasts is note that Sunderland has not been brought up a single time by any of our new owners, contrast that to every single one of their owners and prospective owners never shutting the fuck up about NUFC.3 points

Well at least the Saudi fans won't all be playing number 4!3 points

This guy. If the Saudis came to him to buy into one of his "businesses", he'd never shut up about how great they were and how he had a special relationship with them and that they had understood his unique brilliance making them far more insightful than British investors etc etc. He'd probably convert to Islam for them ffs.3 points

They'll probably claim that this is the effect of us tainting the premier league brand with our new owners! In reality it's painfully obvious what the issue of all of the other clubs are. The 'big 6' are fucked off at fact that we've now potenially got the wealth of lord over them and as the tweet says, 7 into 4 doesn't go. The next tier down (Everton, Liecester, West Ham) are worried that they will have less chance of getting into the second tier European competition and the teams lower down are worried they will have one less team in the relegation battle going forward. And lets face it, sporting objectives for all of the owners (well most, is Brighton fan owned?) come in a distant second to money. Human rights aren't a consideration to any of them.3 points

It’s actually all I wanted for Christmas this year. Think I’ll recreate the scenes by cowering in the London Underground, not knowing if my house will still be standing when I get home before tucking into a hearty plate of powdered eggs for tea3 points

Another gift from Ashley, Penfold, and Bruce - too difficult to sign new players, so let's give the ones already no good much longer contracts so that we can sell them. Oops, that did not work because they are useless and no one wants them on the contracts they were given. Oh well, we now have a full squad. That list just shows how much of a dinosaur Bruce is.3 points
-
Seriously how rotten is football when a perma-wank manager like Bruce gets 8 million quid for doing an incompetent half arsed job? 8 million for having the club one place better than rock bottom? He’ll pretend he’s hard done by and should’ve been given a chance but he’s basically been holding out for the sack and the equivalent of a lotto win. Its crazy. Mike’s parting gift obviously…3 points
