You really have to give credit to the power of the message that the Tories are the boys to trust when they patently aren't yet here we are. It's not even a modern phenomenon as they sold everything off years ago but the same cunts will vote them in as a few scare stories, a few union jack/our boys patter, a few Hamas/PLO/IRA terrorist sympathisers tales, anti-royal communists craic etc, etc is all it takes, absolutely nailed on to convince over half of England that they're the party for me, and no mistake! We're fucked for now, I just hope the shit sandwich we're going to be served will wake enough dinosaurs up where it makes a difference to the vote.3 points

I know, but boy who cried wolf etc. What you see in politics typically isn't a gradual decline. Things hit a tipping point and its suddenly game over. Right now the tories have tipped the chair right back. They lean back anymore and the chair is toppling and they'll break their neck. I hope.2 points

Tbh I’ve learned the hard way the last few years that the left is largely populated by complete fucking idiots who couldn’t lie straight in bed. Whilst the Tories dip their hands in the till the left are perpetually stuck in the life of brian sketch with all the different splinter groups.2 points

It's fucking insane to pursue a policy of renewable energy (which is intermittent) without adequate stores of gas to use as a baseline. We have 6 days storage, typically countries on the continent have several months worth. I also read that CO2 is required in some of our operational nuclear plants meaning they could have to shut down if CO2 remains in short supply. Meaning the American CO2 producers have us by the short and curlies for both our food and energy production. The shit is well and truly going to hit the fan this winter.2 points

We were supposedly immune to global price rises in a 2015 Ofgem report, they said we had 60-70% excess storage capacity so stated threat from market volatility was "minimal" . 2017 Government gave permission to Centrica to cut costs and to improve shareholder returns by decommissioning 70% of that storage capacity, and here we are !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2 points

It was a once in a lifetime fluke to get someone of Benitez calibre under this regime. If we get in a replacement it’ll most likely be someone shit, old, washed up and compliant. The only silver lining is I don’t think I could hate anyone more than Bruce (with the possible exception of Allardyce).2 points

I think the tories are fucked personally. There's every indication that this winter is going to be the biggest shit sandwich ever. I don't think people are going to ignore this. Also, it's obvious the tories are now suffering similar problems to Labour with the split in their base. Johnson can't please both the red and blue walls, it's a circle that can't be squared. But honestly, the country is fucked now for a generation. Government is now a poisoned chalice. My advice is protect yourselves and your families as best you can and let the tories get on with owning this. Just hope there is something left on the other side.1 point

I suspect it's really the left versus the centre (broadly) - doomed to do this for years on end without realising that they're not going to get anywhere without each other. And the Lib Dems. And the SNP. And the Greens. Labour as a viable party for winning power in its own right is done, it's been too rife with turmoil for the better part of a decade now and that has splintered its support. Starmer is not the messiah establishment Labour thought he'd be and I don't think we need to wait another 3 years and watch him doom us to a further 5 at the hands of the Tories, to be able to see that. We need establishment (New) Labour and Momentum Labour to both recognise that they are living anachronisms and completely irrelevant. And to start over from there.1 point

It’s a good job those council bins are free or we’d be knacked for “hydro therapy”.1 point

So is it her job to remind us about what Johnson has said about trade with the US previously, yes or no? To expose his lies and hypocrisy (without further comment), yes or no?1 point

It still is. We haven’t had anyone of his quality since Sir Bobby nor since.1 point

If one side is saying it’s raining and the say it isn’t. The bbc aren’t supposed to just tell us the arguments they are supposed to stick their head out of the window to see who’s right.1 point

I think if we are sitting on 2-3 points after our next 5 games (which is looking pretty likely tbh) they might start the process but even then it’ll be too late, plus their process takes months anyway. It’s still absolutely baffling they extended his contract, they could have given the dozy cunt an at will contract (or as close to an at will deal as allowed in football, month to month maybe? Not sure of what the union has agreed or anything) and he would have signed, it’s not like any club would go near him especially for the money he’s on and if he did walk he’s easily replaceable by basically any out of work manager.1 point

You can bet that Donald Stewart is currently desperately searching for the receipt to find out what the returns policy is. Meanwhile there's hoards of mackems wondering where they're going to take their next shite.1 point

NUFC are torn about this, on the one hand, it might get the capacity up and get more fans in, on the other hand, crowds are nosediving anyway, plus it'll be cheaper tickets and they'll have to pay someone to remove the old seats as the fans here aren't gullible enough to do it for them.1 point

Tell you what though, Johnson and co. played a blinder throwing their lot in with Trump. Firstly because he lost, secondly because he wouldn’t have done us any favours anyway.1 point

So after being publicly told to fuck off by the USA we want to join both an Asian and a North American free trade agreement. As for that European free trade agreement right on our doorstep? Nah, fuck those guys. It’s as desperate as it is stupid.1 point
