  4. Testing out the new IPTV with their match tonight; it has two separate streams, one with Burton commentators and one with Sunderland’s and you’ll never guess which ones are fairly relaxed and which ones are slagging the ref off incessantly because he didn’t give a corner

  10. I volunteer with my regiments peer support group and we have gone all hands to the pump because of the way veterans, especially, but not only, those dealing with mental issues, are reacting to this. The guys who lost limbs, friends or just a little part of their pre combat minds are suffering massively.

  11. Has there been an example of democracy "winning" in any Islamic country? There was a lot of hope around that "Arab Spring" but iirc places like Egypt just voted for cunts as soon as they got the chance. Of course there will be forward looking people with hope in all of these countries but at the moment they're probably still the minority - time may change that of course.

  12. It’s widely held seemingly by those who are so incapable of original thought they need someone to tell them what’s just happened in a football match and place great importance on who gives out this vital information, yeah ..

  16. I never really understood the reason why we went into Iraq, the (WMD) time, just like I never understood the reason to go into Afghanistan. Surely history would've told you going into Afghanistan would've been 'problematic'. Britain, France, in the past but now just the yanks, Israel and us just seem to enjoy kicking wasps nests repeatedly and doubling down when they get the odd wasp sting. (It probably doesn't help I've recently read the depressing and horrifying 'The Great War for Civilisation: The Conquest of the Middle East' by Robert Fisk).

  18. The war in Afghanistan has been a total success in its true mission which is feeding hundreds of billions of dollars to the American industrial War machine. Anybody claiming there was any other aim is talking bollocks

  19. i get that it's easy for the likes of monty and every other pundit criticising biden - it's not their kids in the US military putting themselves in harm's way. biden's kids all served and he knows what it's like. but i thought he was guilty of rewriting the narrative, claiming state-building was never the mission. we were told the opposite for two decades, 8 years of which biden served as VP. if the mission was solely to decapitate al qaeda, it was never said at the time.

  20. Zero deaths since January because the Taliban didn’t want to endanger the withdrawal agreement though? Probably that as much as anything. It’s a fucking horrible situation but the way the afghan forces and government have capitulated suggests it was just delaying the inevitable. Why the fuck should foreign forces do what the regime and its armed forces aren’t prepared to do?

  21. Yes, I don’t get why they spread the field after removing the two danger men. Bizarre tactics bowling at two bowlers averaging single figures with the bat.

  22. I crawled up Barrack road once. It wasn’t the full way mind, just for a few feet every 10 yards or so. Fucking Slalom D. I didn’t even live in that direction. How the fuck I got home I have nay idea.

  23. Well, err, if you won't give Ashley your money and you want him gone and eventually he goes why wouldn't you go back? (I wouldn't crawl up, that would just be silly).

  27. 50,673 reasons why ashley is still at this club. for over 14 years he's held the supporters of what used to be nufc in utter contempt. he's stamped all over the heritage of the club and city by renaming the ground. he's ensured there can be no future extension to the ground in its historical position for his own profit. he's overseen the stadium he inherited turn in to a shabby advertising hoarding for a company with the moral compass of a dead slug. he covered the front of our shirt for years with fucking WONGA and some tacky asian online gambling site. he's ensured we're unable to compete financially with clubs of a much smaller stature by stifling our commercial revenue. he's absolutely shit all over two of the top 3 newcastle living legends of my generation in keegan and shearer. I'm amazed he hasn't come up with a plan to punish in some way those who are old enough to have sang 'my eyes have seen the glory of macdonald scoring goals' he treated the one man in benitez who offered us some hope like a cunt. he's employed despicable, sycophantic twats like pardew and bruce to lower expectations, remove the heat from himself and who will willingly discredit the supporters. rather than strengthen he's ensured another relegation battle by starting the season with a weaker squad than the previous one. he's failed to invest in the training facilities despite promises to do so till they resemble those of a non league club. he's created a gaudy presentation of a permanent signing of a loanee which was lapped up in a manner similar to that usually afforded to a team which has won a title. mind-boggling that people pay this cunt.

  28. We can sustain this level of caseload but it will inevitably have an impact on other services. The waiting lists for hospital treatment, oncology, cardiovascular, orthopaedics, are horrendous and I just can't see how we can get on top of them with the level of funding we have. I got a text yesterday saying I am going to be invited for third pfizer jab and a flu jab in one session. I'm going for it like cos I'm nails when it come to vaccines.
