Many heartfelt thanks for all the kind replies. I am feeling much better today, I've kept myself busy organising things which has actually helped. Dealing with personal effects is especially hard and seems to be my trigger. Also I have had to go through her contacts list phoning her friends individually to let them know - she didn't do social media and neither do I. Thank God her phone was unlocked. Hoping the funeral directors will take over tomorrow in organising things. I am going to take some positives out of this, mainly that in the end it was a rapid death without the weeks and months of suffering I have seen other friends and relatives endure due to cancer. I have seen people rot in agony in a way you wouldn't let a dog suffer, thank God that was avoided. Also two bits of advice. First one sounds incredibly trite, it's live life to the full every day. We aren't here for very long and every moment counts. Don't let relationships fester, don't stick with jobs you hate etc. How many people have said this but you've ignored the advice? I know I have, but its true. Second is more specific, if you find a person close to you in this situation make a fuss with the hospital to let you see them and for God's sake make sure the hospital has your correct contact details. Miscommunication has caused a bad outcome for me and if there was one thing I would turn back time on it would be that. Truly I believe now things can only get better for me this year, starting today.10 points

Usually I get forensic on opposition teams and the table and shit, but the past two seasons I've barely been able to remember where we are in the table, let alone anything else. The disappoint in Ashley staying compounded by Bruce's appointment, and then the subsequent shitdrizzle that he passes off as football is killing me. If we stay up, and if we get bought buy someone else, and if Bruce is booted into the Tyne, I might be interested. But another season of Ashley, Bruce and boring relegation struggles in the Premier League? Nah, not for me.3 points

You know how things are going with the PL when you genuinely haven't heard of people getting picked for the national squad. I watch us because you can't not, the rest of the games now are neither here nor there and ingurland have left me cold since at least 1998.3 points

Can understand the point because I don't think any male journalists have been accused of the same sorts of relationships (although they may well have been with May..), but on the other hand she's complicit in perpetuating the regressive kind of thinking that creates these sorts of comments anyway, by supporting a right wing government led by an oversized toddler that rode to power on the back of a 'cultural movement' concerned with bravado, casual racism and misogyny. You reap what you fucking sow. That said, while I don't care remotely about the damage these sorts of comments do to Kuenssberg (and it will be zero damage), they clearly aren't helpful to other female journalists who aren't as ridiculously privileged, or wedged as firmly up Johnson's arse as she has been. Can't comment definitively on whether that last bit is a relationship status or a political preference, but I will say that she's sharing the view with a great many male journalists as well. I hope this qualifies as equal opportunity loathing, on my part.2 points

Both spot on, I donāt even know why I bother watching anymore. The football is embarrassingly bad, in fact the club as a whole is just fucking embarrassing. I basically donāt get excited when we score, under Ashley itās become pretty meaningless since we will never ever kick on. The fucking thought of staying up and having another year exactly like this is just horrible, but itās the more likely option when compared with staying up and the club being sold, Ashley wonāt sack this fucking ball bag if we stay up and another PL season will be even worse than this one under those circumstances imo.2 points

Aye I tend to only hear of players when they score past us Football is just background stuff now. NUFC are so predictably shite in every department itās not worth watching. As a club we havenāt been trying for an awful long time so thereās nothing to support.2 points

The Fall, never heard of them. Meenzer would probably recommend just going down the high street after closing time if you wanted to hear pissed idiots yelling, me I'd suggest - I Am Kurious Oranj or Hex Enduction Hour or any of the Peel Sessions just to get a sample of them. Just to make it easy for you Gloomy here are links to all The Fall's Peel Sessions: https://www.youtube.com/embed/LD_TJTrbCEE?autoplay=1 https://www.youtube.com/embed/yb1tdSMStb0?autoplay=1 https://www.youtube.com/embed/mMmhbf6aogE?autoplay=1 https://www.youtube.com/embed/nXxYxsefU8o?autoplay=1 https://www.youtube.com/embed/DrvkfDmpn_s?autoplay=1 https://www.youtube.com/embed/Rqvv9i1y4EM?autoplay=1 https://www.youtube.com/embed/rHxFhG0Xy0Y?autoplay=1 https://www.youtube.com/embed/6_wVJOHSGDw?autoplay=1 https://www.youtube.com/embed/XhqFTezMjTs?autoplay=1 https://www.youtube.com/embed/04qhZPKnWDs?autoplay=1 The Fall hit their straps once they moved from that raw punk sound to post punk in the early 80s. Fuck look at all that hair!!! No they're a little bit to King Gizz light for me. Talking Gizz I'm more into this stuff they do than the psychodelic hippy shite.1 point

Aye, when we've been bad before it didn't feel as self inflicted. Honestly, after the initial Gettin! on Lascelles' equaliser I just felt a bit numb. First time we went down, I was gutted and pessimistic, the second I was frustrated but hopeful, now I'm just 'shrug'. If we stay up I won't be half as excited about another season in the top flight as I should be. Not with these cunts in charge.1 point

Anyone else catch the Mackem presenter owning himself during the Cheltenham coverage on itv yesterday? No Idea who he was but he just done insisting he'd never been seen dead in Newcastle colours and no ammount of money could get him to ever wear black and white when his co-presenter pointed out the black and white suit he was wearing.1 point

Blue note have just released an album with the new crop of jazz bands performing Blue Note classics. So people like the Ezra Collective, Jorja Smith, Skinny Pelembe, etc and it's interesting hearing their take of these tunes. @PaddockLad fix the permissions on your messages so I can send you one.1 point

Sorry, but I have been meaning to say this for some time. In a time where women continue to be actively discriminated against purely on the basis of their gender, perhaps we need to reflect on whether we should be criticising the standard of her journalism, if valid, rather than any perceived relationship, of whatever type, with one or more male politicians. We don't do that with male journalists. Apologies if my remarks have hurt anyone (yes, sarcasm intended).1 point

Between his complete inability to get the best out of anyone, the fact Eric Dier will start every game and Grealish will definitely only get 10 minutes here and there, the Euros are going to break me. Especially after a full season of Bruce.1 point
