I still don't understand how the PL can dictate to a region who has TV rights covering nations who are virtually at war.3 points

Yeah it’s a weird one, his prior involvement with the law firm on the PL side as well as the messages to only that law firm are iffy too, especially as it was clearly enough for even the law firm on the PL side to become uncomfortable enough to say they should loop in NUFCs team. The process has been ropey from the start so I suppose it wasn’t going to get better. Like one of our points is even just simply make it more public and transparent, which the PL is fighting, what problem could that possibly even cause them if there’s no issue here? This is a big one for me, I’ve never understood this from the start. I know it’s how the deal was packaged but why was it ever structured in a way like this? It would be like giving Russia some type of control over broadcasting the NFL in the US, I wouldn’t say it’s unreasonable to expect the US wouldn’t tolerate that. I get the response to pirate it is a bit petty, as the correct approach was likely to just block it, but it’s a really odd position to put the countries in.2 points

It is a rather strange judgment imho. I could sort of understand the technical point that the arbitration is about something else than Beloff advised the EPL about snd that he hasn’t been involved with the EPL for some years, but how you can argue that discussing those matters with just one side isn’t raising justifiable suspicion is beyond me.2 points

As much as I dislike Steve Bacon Bruce I can't motivate myself into the utter hatred levels of the Souness days. Not because the amount of cuntness is any higher or lower, it’s just that now it makes no difference. It did then.2 points

I can see Fulham winning tonight and putting a lot pressure on the team for Sunday’s jurassico.2 points

Probably easier to swallow being subbed when it’s lead to a change that sees your team get a result tbf. And then Rafa would often start Ritchie in important matches and he’s play well so that balanced it out in a good example of, gosh, man management that led to everyone reaping the benefits. I know that was your point but still.2 points

Here, @sammynb Spud from Trainspotting playing your boy Alan McGee in biopic/epic of his life.... see you down the front?2 points

It's hard to fathom that we could have a manager who's both more embarrassing than Joe Kinnear and less tactically aware than John Carver, let alone that he could be in charge for 70+ morbidly dire games. How's the bacon did ya say? It's rotten Steve, that's how the bacon is.1 point

It’ll be lawyers from both sides arguing the case and a panel who decide the outcome. The guy we have a problem with is chairman of the panel but there’s no way he should be involved given his past.1 point

@PaddockLad The trailer is geo blocked here but I'm more a back seat of the bus these days, so I'll be back there. And as much good as McGee has done, shoegaze, JMC, Primal Scream - he's fucked up it all up and he's not even dead yet so how the fuck did he get a biopic made about him?!?? It's kind of funny that Spud, the Scottish actor with the huge cock is playing what some may say is Scotland's biggest bellend. 😂1 point

Or players like Lascelles will make it clear that there's no point in cutting our nose off to spite our face in the middle of a relegation fight by downing tools to get rid of the cabbage. I'd say it must be nice to live in such a binary world as Edwards, but he likely thinks himself, falsely, quite the Machiavellian.1 point

Benitez is in no way perfect. He's definitely a PR craftsman to the extent that it can be purely self serving at times, but the crucial thing is that he's a great fucking coach, and for the vast majority of the time he uses PR so the team, and obviously be extension him, are successful. In other words Benitez is a very smart, if perhaps a little too calculating at times, man, and Bruce is a fucking cabbage headed muppet.1 point
-
The only reason why I mentioned Benitez is because it is quite funny that certain people kept saying that it is much better to have a nice bloke in charge who is good at man management than the whinging Spaniard. At least Benitez was honest with his criticism to drive the club forward while Bruce is just trying to protect himself.1 point

I just find it hugely, hugely disappointing that ritchie didn't batter the living shit out of him to be honest.1 point

"I asked for a table and they brought me a lampshade" was a great Rafa quote (from his time at Valencia I think?).1 point
-
Aye, I think there’s no doubt Benitez was harsh but I think the difference is his criticism was coming from an angle of drive for improvement and kicking the club on, rather than throwing the team under the bus like Bruce is doing. I’ve little doubt Rafa had team members that disliked him, Shelvey being one, I also know that Ritchie used to basically bray down Rafas office door after every match as Rafa subbed him off nearly every game he played, but Rafa could always seem to manage that whereas Bruce seems to be squaring up to people.1 point
-
Insanity. He’s also acting like this is the first time Bruce has tried to throw players under the bus. While perhaps this is the first time he’s called individuals out, he basically labeled the team as shit back in November and gave a “what am I supposed to do with this lot” type of response to questions. Sorry like, I find it extremely hard to believe the players wouldn’t be happy if this useless tosser got sacked.1 point

Luke Edward's "understands" the majority of players remain loyal to Bruce He pretty much disputes every single point of the Mail story. He's so far up his arse it's unreal1 point
-
Yeah, two players butting heads over a bad tackle, lack of effort, or a previous game is one thing. The experienced, "good bloke", manager storming downstairs to shove a player who called him a mean name is a whole other problem. Surely if Bruce does get the boot it'll be Jones? Can't see a queue of managers wanting to take over with so few games left and without 3 key players.1 point
