Another bright spark right here: Here's the thing. Yes, Leave lied; yes, the right-wing press faithfully parroted their lies; yes, social media algorithms fed people those lies; yes, the prevailing political conditions made it possible for those lies to take hold in the first place. But at some point, there's no escaping the fact that a lot of people are just fucking selfish and fucking stupid.7 points

Apparently there’s 20 Republican senators who could be persuaded which is more than enough. The thing is that Trump isn’t going to fade into obscurity, he isn’t going to be a good boy like Nixon. He needs the limelight, the attention, he’ll constantly be shouting from the sidelines. The best thing they can do is bar him from public office and bury him in prosecutions, completely discredit him.4 points

And don't just say, in the coach's defence, "I like Steve". That is not a pundit's remit. That's his family's remit (as long as it is a good family of course).4 points

Yes 17th December I visited 5 doctors surgeries in one day whilst unknowingly infected with Covid 19 When restrictions changed last week we got all got a letter from the CEO to tell us that we are only to do emergency repairs for the foreseeable Teams meeting yesterday with area manager, he stated that we should continue with monthly maintenance tasks “if it’s safe”. We can send jobs back via the risk assessment if we feel unsafe. On the way home yesterday spoke to engineering manager and he told me a chippy did this over Swindon way. He was given a fire door to sort out, it had gaps round it etc so it wasn’t fire compliant . He asked the site manager what was on the other side of the door, he was informed there was “several Covid positive patients” He then asked if the door was a major problem to site; “no, not really in the circumstances”...So he put a Red Cross on the risk asesssment and sent it back. Several layers of management got involved, the engineering manager to his credit backed the chippy to the hilt, until it ended up on the desk of the area director. She decided to send a contractor to do it The other day I went to a large NHS admin block to fix a light. There were around 30 people stuffed into an office about maybe 20-25m square, separated only by rudimentary screens at desk level. I asked people sat round the light to move before i did it to maintain social distancing . They grudgingly agreed to. 63 employees of TFL have died from Covid. Most of them bus drivers. Employers are paying lip service to this shit...3 points

He got me a pint once and I swear the barmaid had a small puddle by her feet such was the charm and charisma he exudes from his dulcet tones. Like a mixture of Peter Bowles and Leslie Phillips.3 points

There’s five people dead after what he unleashed the other day. I get why he should be punished by his peers for doing it before the feds get him, to cleanse the lunacy that GOP has been for the last half decade, which in turn will help to re set US democracy. A full stop. The GOP turning on him now is grim, nauseating fuckin hypocrisy. But it has to be done. “Don’t martyr him”, yeah it’s a good point but the republic of the US buried its head in the sand for 5 years now it must face up to what it’s done & pay the price.3 points

This last 4 years of Trump never really happened did it? This level of idiocy is too far fetched. It's some type of set up, or perhaps I am going to awake from a REM coma any time soon?3 points

He’s off his fucking rocker like. If he’d actually led the life he claims to have had up to now he’d be a pretty well known name, for good reasons I mean not known for being a little doilem on twitter.2 points

Johnson may be the most opportunistic, Gove may be the most repulsively vile, and Hancock may be the most pathetic, but Patel is honestly the most downright callous and mean.2 points

It was a rhetorical question. It's so fucking predictable: Tell blatant lies before referendum. Win referendum on basis of lies. Get Brexit done, country goes to shit. Blame the people who warned about the lies. I honestly didn't expect it to be this blatant mind.2 points

Happy to jump on the racist party bus. As others have pointed out, you’d have to be fucking stupid to believe what was promised. If it was remotely true about the country being far more prosperous outside the EU, previous governments would’ve been all over it. As recently as last month plenty in the fishing industry were calling for No Deal, in the misguided belief they’d be better off and not caring about the repercussions for everyone else. Fucking diddums2 points

And there's a public majority for it allegedly. If you take all 100% of people who voted for Brexit, I think I recall reading that the highest percentage of support from that group for any other policy, is for the death penalty to be brought back.1 point

Not necessarily. The Senate has to consider it once the articles are received but I don’t think there’s any requirement to send them immediately.1 point

Last season ASM was easily our best attacking outlet. Perhaps, even before COVID struck, playing in a team where we have next to no possession (especially in the opposition half) meant teams have been able to nullify him somewhat. You know - maybe the tactic of giving him the ball and hoping for the best wasn’t that sustainable. This season he has been ‘lumbered’ with Callum Wilson. I wonder if, once the ‘tactic’ of completely relying on him for goals becomes less effective, the penny might drop that the manager isn’t getting the best out of this squad.1 point
