I'm not going to watch the video but the opening shot does look like a short news feature on a man who got carried away with his success as a DFS regional sale manager and fell into alcoholism and homelessness but is now on the straight and narrow and trying to give back by volunteering at a homeless shelter.4 points

Now that's what I call a European union. Joking aside, why are bastards like these always so committed to making everyone else's life worse just because they can't deal with their own internalised homophobia?3 points

The MHRA is the UK's regulatory body on medicines and medical devices, fully independent and staffed by scientists and medics.3 points

Honestly, I doubt many with even basic qualifications or understanding of molecular biology would be concerned by the new mRNA vaccines, which includes the Pfizer one. They are very clean without the adjuvants that caused safety issues in other vaccines. 2 month safety data is adequate. Given the risk benefit ratio of preventing this disease, this is an absolute no brainer and I am surprised the EMA and FDA haven't expedited their approval too. They will, but lives will be lost in the mean time. I'm hoping to be vaccinated before the New Year and I have no concerns at all.3 points

Hope I get superpowers from this vaccine. One of the good ones though, like mind-reading or a healing factor not a shit one like growing fins or...help me out, Fish3 points

Meanwhile in mackemville.... Just about sums up the BBC that they would take this fella at his word3 points

I don’t understand why media outlets are giving him any time at all. It’s great mind, what a fucking embarrassment it is for the mackems that this tramp is constantly loitering around hovels in Sunderland pretending he’s buying them. #trampycunt #neemoney #knockingaboutunderbridges2 points

So we have approved this vaccine ahead of even Trump... Factors in the decision presumably including: 1 - Brexit is imminent and the country won't survive the twin crisis. 2 - It can be painted as some kind of crazy success story. 3 - The government is tired of dealing with this and wants it to go away so that their primary policy goal of shameless corruption can be pursued with less scrutiny. 4 - What could possible go wrong anyway 5 - Common sense, another victory for. This government is not competent enough to be trusted in taking a leading role on this.2 points

Apparently, according to a contributor to the 5 Live Breakfast show, the speed with which this vaccine was approved is all down to Brexit2 points

They have a thread that was started at almost 2pm this afternoon, confirming that Poyet had signed. It has now reached 80 pages. The first 20 pages of it is joy and euphoria, the rest is swinging wildly looking for people to blame and cursing their fathers for raising them as Sunderland fans https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/gus-has-signed-ed-or-maybe-he-hasnt.1535224/2 points

From what I have seen, people who get behind rallying cries like "Defund the police" are already so disillusioned with the political system that they don't care how the message is received because they no longer believe in democracy as a means for change. They now have greater faith in organised protest and public mischief. So yeah, nice points from Obama, and I agree with him, but he's speaking to other moderates with that message. He's speaking to people who still believe that the system works. Not the people who are carrying those messages.1 point

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steve-bruces-29-regulars-rated-19387014 The Chronicle with a headline promising a ranking of players from “Best to Worst” and then ranking them “Worst to Best” in the article about sums them up. Theres also two 13s so it’s actually 30 players1 point

Says the bloke who got virtually nothing "done". I know he lost the senate which stymied him but maybe if he'd pitched more than fuck all he wouldn't have lost it in the first place.1 point

Aye, the head of the Scottish Fishing Federation (or something like that) was on Politics Live yesterday and spent most of the time repeating the phrase 'independent coastal nation' while saying that the issue of trade in fish should be totally separate to fishing rights. Completely detached from reality like most Brexiteers and Tories.1 point

I’m still working on EU transition and the Covid response but working remotely means I miss all that grapevine stuff I picked up in Whitehall. Which is a shame because it was always entertaining to hear snippets of what people thought about the likes of Give and Patel. The canteen is a miss too. But to answer your question it’s more stuff I’ve read up on but I was always aware the Scots fishing for langoustines (for example) sent most of their catch to places like Spain. The whole fishing issue is just gammon appeasement which makes it appropriate since that’s all Brexit is at the end of the day1 point

So he spoke to them, found out they’re in league one and went “erm, yeah actually fuck that”, what a draw they are that a failed manager has no interest dropping to their level.1 point

Aye but you can't judge any manager on their time at Sunderland, look how well he's done since: AEK sacked after six months, Real Betis sacked after six months, some shithole in China sacked after ten months, Bordeaux sacked after eight months...1 point

there you go https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/thomaskeith/voluntary-excess Huge thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes, it’s greatly appreciated, especially in this year. I decided to release a record on my birthday, like Bowie used to do & I’ll try and keep it up. There’s 5 new songs and, the best experience is mixed for headphones. For this record I play guitar, bass, drums & some weird organ thing. So the recording approach was a little different but it’s all experience. I was delighted to have Danielle Lewis along to lend their wonderful vocals to the first track & we’ll be working a lot more together in future which thankfully will band work and not solo work! It’s currently available on Apple Music, ITunes & Spotify, though will be released through every major platform soon. LR “Oh, great by me” GJ : Yeah? Mine were alright, wasn't my best one but who cares? LR “That's the spirit” That’s the end of my favourite Cribs song. So onwards and upwards....1 point
