He just comes across as either someone that knows fuck all about football, or a bloke who is deciding to do nothing but antagonize and troll the fanbase of the club he covers. Yes, football is a results business but performances do become an indicator over the long term, you can’t consistently expect to get by scoring fluky late goals like we have with one of the few shots we manage each game. It’s also total fucking dross to watch, and if you’re not successful i.e. winning things which Bruce isn’t going to be doing, it’s not going to go over well with a fan base. This is a Wolves team promoted after our last promotion, one that’s way overrated in the press, and one I’m not going to get excited about drawing with in that fashion, and after a performance as limp dicked as that one. Edwards is a fucking loser who has a pathetically low expectation for what he deems acceptable, call us deluded but we shouldn’t be accepting this type of shit show on the basically weekly consistency we are seeing it now.4 points

Can you ratchet that up a bit? They’re saying they can’t quite see that wind up attempt from the ISS3 points

Totally agree with all of this. It's one thing to play so deep that the opposition can't get past you and are limited to shots from outside the box, but if you can't retain or do anything progressive with the ball when you do get it, you are eventually going to get caught out like we were yesterday and last week. Then you are just hoping for fluky goals. That isn't a way to set your team out, it isn't sustainable and it's awful to watch. Comparing it to the worst of it under Rafa doesn't wash either. When Rafa was finally allowed to sign the attacking players he wanted, he had us attacking with a plan and the players looked like they all knew what they were supposed to be doing. Yes we've lost Rondon and Perez but we've now replaced them with Wilson, ASM, Frazer, Joelinton and Carroll. We're actually better off and have the same players available to play behind them yet we have no idea whatsoever how to move the ball forward with any conviction. You have to look at the manager and he can't keep saying it's a work in progress.3 points

Probably standing in the empty Nightingale hospitals (which we can’t use without staff btw - good luck finding more nurses) None of us have been routinely tested. Only eligible if we have Covid symptoms. When I left work yesterday morning our ITU was full. Not all the patients were ventilated, some were on high flow oxygen but are extremely sick. I took a patient from theatre to a Covid ward and took up their last bed, although we still have some capacity on other wards. I don’t ever want to have to work up there - it was absolutely grim 🙁 I don’t really have the emotional energy to get into any debates/conversations on here but this thread is always interesting reading. I find the only way to get through life in general is to avoid the whole thing as much as possible (news/debates/social media/general aresholery) on the days I don’t have to deal with it 12hrs at a time, 4 nights per week. Meant to be annual leave next week but as per my last 4 planned weeks off, I’m working some of it. Last had a full week off in January and will be taking the full week I’ve got booked off in December (not Christmas or New Year though because all A/L is cancelled for then) On the plus side, at least I’m not fucking homeschooling this time! 😆3 points

Funny how it’s ok for him to argue we were unlucky against Man Utd but all of a sudden it’s a results-based business when it’s a more positive outcome2 points

I had my first Saturday night off for weeks last night. Woke up about 2am, had a bit cackle to myself thinking about how I’ve ruined all your days and went back to sleep 😁2 points

If deaths are down then the only explanation for the difference between the two waves (assuming it hasn't mutated) is the state of readiness of the NHS. They're better equipped to deal with it now that the government's incompetence has been worked through? Which basically means that the real factor behind the deaths of 40,000 people was chronic underfunding of the NHS by successive Tory governments, and stunning incompetence from the sitting one. Watched that game on Sunday. Less said about it the better but I will say it gave me some ideas for a fully fledged line of Newcastle themed pedals to rival the Chinese made budget JOYO branded stuff. I'm thinking a not quite bargain-basement but moderately priced "JONJO" range: There's not much too them, barely half a dozen working components under the hood but they'll amazing things often enough to merit a permanent always-on residence on your pedal board. The catch is that now and again they'll do weird glitchy shit like the MXR Blue Box and be totally uncontrollable and some nights you'll probably find that your rig functions much better with them off.1 point

It's more calculating than that though, he knows precisely what he's doing. This time round though it's not working on anyone other than his base. As an aside I think he's being held to account far more effectively than Johnson is during the pandemic. His answers expose him as the fuckin grifter he truly is but he's sat there answering tricky questions (even before the election campaign) in a way that Johnson never, ever does.1 point

“Keep finding a way” against the mighty Wolves A season where everyone is recording record goals scored and we can barely hit our arse with both hands.1 point

There is no 4th tier in Australia. He was playing in the NSW PL2 competition which is the equivalent of 2nd tier non league football. He wasn't setting the league alight at that level either, so I'd be more incline to take it as a favour for ASM. Maybe why he signed a contract extension?1 point

We’ve had lots of lovely bits and pieces sent in by the general public (hand cream/lip balm to help with PPE burns) but I really hope management aren’t wildly naive enough to offer us either of the above.. 🙄1 point

Aye, aye, but you do realise I’ve spent today an hour out of synch because you didn’t tell us all to put out clocks back. I trust you feel suitably shite about it.1 point

Yes we’ve learned a lot from the first wave and it seems to be showing given current patient outcomes. No, we don’t have any more ventilators. The first time around we stopped all routine surgery and used the vents that would’ve been in those theatres but we’re currently still running routine surgery so they’re in use. And the elderly are still by far making up the greatest number of admissions although we are seeing younger patients presenting in greater numbers than last time. We’re still run into the ground and have large numbers of medical and nursing staff either testing positive themselves or being asked to isolate having been in contact with positive patients or family members. It’s taking a massive toll on staff physical and mental health. 7 months in and I’ve personally never been tested, nor have many of my colleagues so we could be spreading it all over the place.1 point

Bang average upper Championship midfielder. The new Guthrie/Colback/Gosling/Bentaleb/Ireland/etc etc. Acceptable as cover but shouldn't be starting PL games.1 point

That’s textbook Bruce. He’s got a central midfielder in Hendrick that he’s pushed out wide but rather than move him to his natural position he’d rather play Shelvey nursing an injury.1 point

There were a few rumours to that effect, but you can’t deny he did good collecting well over £1m before his death (an enormous achievement now, never mind the 80’s & 90’s!) He was a proper local character who everyone knew and pretty much everyone used to throw coins into his bucket when he went past. 👏😎1 point
