It is not dead as long as there isn’t a coffin carried through the streets of Newcastle.9 points

So the Premier League got exactly what they wanted. Think that’s me done with football like. What’s the fucking point of watching a football club whose owner has took the absolute piss for 13 years and had actually sold the fucking club, imagine his apathy now? On top of that I’m not watching a brand that is literally telling us we’re going to be shite, they just sat on this deal and frustrated until this happened purely to keep the Liverpool, Man Utd etc wankfest club going. Sorry like this is a complete joke.9 points

Like when you wanted to plunge an entire league of clubs into debt on the off chance you could stop being fucking shit for five minutes to make the playoffs in League One, you mean? And then decided that was the moral high ground because that’s what worked for you? Like when you defended a nonce because he scored past us? You are out of your depth here. Quit while you’re behind, you tit6 points

Well, back to being completely uninterested in the premier league again. Shame about the lost investment in the city but no fucker outside the area gives a shit about that6 points

England (and not Scotland, Wales or NI) officially has had the most excess deaths due to covid in Europe. Quite some achievement for an island nation with at least 2 weeks advanced knowledge of the situation. I suggest Johnson deserves a hand clap, a nice slow one, before resigning. His actions have been tantamount to murder.6 points

There’s talk of a US bid, which, if it happens, all well and good- anyone but fucking Ashley. I guarantee though, there won’t be a single question raised , anywhere, about the abysmal domestic and international human rights abuses carried out by the US. Also, fuck the Spuds, and double fuck the Wallpushers.5 points

Actually don’t believe that tbh. If he’s desperate to sell, he’ll be as annoyed as the rest. Ashley moving the goalposts, I mean. Not Tim the Quim’s embarrassing effort there.5 points

The mackems are on about being bought out by a bloke with less than £500 in the bank. Id keep out of this one Doris.4 points

Can’t be arsed with it anymore tbh. It’s been a complete waste of time, and I dont know why the saudis would want to pursue it any further, it’s not like it’s a critical deal for the PIF. No doubt social media and the press will be full of made up nonsense and opinion but its not worth wasting any time on it imo3 points

Looks like I got most of it right. Caulkin and Waugh state that the deal expired on June 26th. It is beyond belief that the league couldn’t make a decision until then or give the buyers any timeframe when a decision can be made. It’s been 17 weeks of moving goalposts. Utter shambolic. Masters should piss of and take charge of a nonexistent ferry company.3 points
-
Don’t know about anyone else but I’m looking forward to 17 weeks of speculation about whether or not the deal can be resurrected3 points

Nice of the lad to take time out from fingering his sister and his long running rivalry with Burton fans tbf3 points

I assume we’re all cancelling our Sky subscriptions and buying BeoutQ boxes? Next season is just going to be as awful as last, the PL is shite when the odds are stacked against you. I will give not one fuck if we get relegated next season.3 points

How the fuckin fuck does Delaney think that's going to fuckin work?? PIF: "Hi Premier League can we buy NUFC please?" PL: "No, because of x, y & z" PIF: "Ok, how about MUFC??" PL: "Errr..."3 points

UEFA isn’t in charge of the World Cup you little paedophile.3 points

Didn't think I'd be that bothered, but fuck me, feel flat now. Probably never see us win anything, I even just missed out being alive for the Fairs Cup ffs! Ashley's still taking money for next year's ST which won't be attended, the cunt. Time to jack football in altogether I think.3 points

The Saudis are playing the long game. They know that another 12 months of Bruce and Ashley will see us relegated and the EFL have shown they’ll approve any dodgy cunt as owner.3 points

With Qatar facilitating sports washing via PSG, bein and staging major sports events as well as having a fantastic track record when it comes to human rights I am glad the right side won this game of geopolitics.3 points

To be fair I get why they’d be happy. Regardless they’re still a League One side3 points
-
Ah well. Other than the initial burst of optimism from the first few weeks after it was announced, the longer it dragged on the less likely I thought it was going to happen. Back to the old apathy.3 points

The PL didn’t even have the stomach to make a decision that could be appealed. They just held out to frustrate the buyer.3 points

You could get an entire team of Will Griggs for 50m. And still have money left over to repair the lift.3 points

I actually don’t see how the appeal does affect the decision in any way. Taking the report in its present form it does not provide any basis to reject the takeover, meaning an appeal by KSA doesn’t change anything in this regard. It’s been indicated that the PL is unhappy with Al Qasabi being media minister as well as on the board of PIF, but I honestly can’t fathom why this is seen as a problem. He has been appointed into this position in February 2020. I haven’t seen anything indicating that he has been involved in anything regarding piracy before he assumed office. As the PIF is obviously linked to the state I don’t know why there is a problem having a minister as a board member. I might be rather thick, but surely if the PL wants to stop piracy in KSA then it should be best having the minister in some way responsible. I did also have another look at the WTO report and did notice that they did publish additional information, especially the arguments from both sides as well as from third parties. It’s telling that Qatar produced evidence in form of a statement from an (alleged) BeoutQ employee, exhibit-222, linking the running of the channel directly to the Saudi government. There were arguments from both sides about the timing when the evidence was submitted (on the last day) as well as about the request from Qatar for the need of special measures of confidentiality. The panel did allow the evidence to be submitted but didn’t draw any conclusion from it, meaning they didn’t deem the witness to be credible.3 points

They've agreed to pay out to anyone one else who also had that bet, doubt it will be many but still fair play.3 points

The whole thing stinks. It sounds like they deliberately dragged it out to sink the deal.2 points

The region needed the investment. Create some jobs, give the lads & lasses sorting boxes in the largest foodbank in the UK a good break. But Fenway Sports Group, champions of England and whichever cunts own spurs were opposed2 points

There's no other bidders. In the current climate they'll be wanting at least £75m off the price of the club. That fat cunt will not be doing that2 points

Aye, the sooner the “big” clubs fuck off to their little Super League, the better.2 points

It's becoming more and more of a chore to support Newcastle United. This deal gave hope of something special that could have happened to the club and the city. Even a credible new owner (which Mauriss doesn't seem to be even if he is really interested) is unlikely to have the resources to give us a chance of competing.2 points
-
To be fair I can’t even blame Ashley for being apathetic now, the bloke had lined up probably the best buyers he and the fans could hope for (from the perspective he knew they were good for the money, and we got turned into a super club). From his perspective the club was sold and he was moving on but the PL have essentially now forced him back to dealing with it.2 points
